How Did The Apocalypse Happen?

  • The Eclipse Syndicate, an underground organization whose sole focus was on destroying the world, released a lethal virus in 2085.
    • The virus ended up only targeting young children, the elderly, and most men.
    • Most of the men left behind ended up having low sperm counts due to the virus.
      • They could still get women pregnant, however it would take many attempts to do so.
    • The women left behind were typically aged between 14 and 35.
    • The men that survived were typically in their 20s.
    • Many of the women who were pregnant during the virus survived and went on to have healthy children.

A Quick Look At The Organizations

The Eclipse Syndicate

  • A European underground organization with the sole goal of destroying the world.
  • Most of the members died with the virus because they were men.
    • There are a few women left that were part of the organization, but it is a small number.
      • Coming across these women in public is very rare, though there are a few actively trying to recruit and rebuild the organization for another attempt.

Iron Horizon/Aegis Command/Siberian Guard

  • These organizations are the remnants of the US, European, and Russian militaries respectively.

Genesis

  • A world-wide organization that aims to enslave any remaining or newborn men and use them as breeding machines.

America

America Pre-Virus

America prior to the virus' release had become slightly more advanced than the rest of the world. Though, they had also devolved into a world of patriarchal hierarchy. Men became the ones to work and provide for their families again. Women were forced to stay home and tend to their families, to make sure their male counterparts were appeased at all times. Few women held jobs or entered the military, those that did needed permission from both their father and their counterpart.

Women were put through school, up to high school, but were not allowed to seek higher education under any circumstance. Abortions were completely outlawed, forcing women to carry every pregnancy to full term. The foster system and CPS were also deemed unnecessary, meaning that some children were left in homes that were not all that great for them.

America Post-Virus

Once the virus had done its damage, and all of the women were left to pick up the remnants of the country, it happened quickly. Older women that had managed to receive higher education prior to pre-virus America going to hell were quickly elected into positions of power (Genesis' leader, Iron Horizon General, Leaders settlements not yet under Iron Horizon's control.)
