Ether Effects
As another example, the fact that there are two entirely different Ether Effects called "Light" (あっさり—a cosmetic one that's on the Green Soup—and 軽い—an equipment +SPD one), and similarly for "Heavy" (こってり/重い).
Other Typographical Errors
There are three item encyclopedia entries:
- Crimson Feather A Harpy's wing, died (recte: dyed) crimson red. If you find one, a Harpy nest is close by.
- Fortune Ring Three intertwined rings make this charm a travelers' (recte: traveler's) favorite. It is to pray for safety.
- Koalaria Spirit A physical form of the pure heart of a Koalaria. Used by Nikki to borrow the powers of a Kinoara. (recte: Koalaria). (キノアラ kinoara is the Japanese name for the enemy.)
At least two character quest entries:
- Nikki CQ2 [...] Thanks to Jess' (recte: Jess's (though this is an incorrect style thing Atelier does all the time)) Loveless Potion, they got rid of the guys. [...]
- Roxis CQ4 [...] When I wake up tomorrow, none of this had (recte: will have) happened. Right. This was all just a nightmare.
Five recipe book encyclopedia entries:
- Igniter Device A book on how to make a tool that lights up easily. Devices made with this item makes (recte: make) daily lifestyles much easier, but it's actually not that easy to make, so the common people don't get any.
- Exploding Uni A book that introduced a method of packing gun powder (recte: gunpowder (no space)) in Unis for use as bombs. At the time of presentation, many Uni lovers revolted against this horrendous idea.
- The Mystic Uni A research paper written by a scientist who spent all 18 years of his life researching Uni. The famous line, "Uni is God" comes from him. Various ways to maximize an Uni's power is (recte: are) noted here. [Also, the use of "Unis" in the previous one and "Uni" here as the plural... one of these is wrong.]
- Fruit Juice A book on techniques on how to squeeze fruit juices so they remain delicious. Making it by hand adds impurities that make it taste strange, but by using alchemy solve the problem. (recte: either "but using alchemy solves" or "but by using alchemy, you solve"/equivalent).
- A Master's Swing How to make a rare blade whose existence was doubted because its (recte: it) appears only in legend. Even after this recipe was found, none have been able to recreate the sword, so it remains legendary.
Twelve enemy entries:
- Jagged Tiger A mutant silver tiger that is very violent. They move very quick (recte: quickly), and will pounce with a deadly blow.
- 1 inch Brownie A tiny brownie, even compared to normal small brownies. It may look small, but has huge possibilities you can not (recte: cannot) underestimate.
- Muterion A two headed beast with a freezing aura. Its (recte: It's) more than a frost bite (recte: frostbite) if you touch it. They attack people only for pleasure.
- Scar Child A Scar Breath child. It eats frozen food since birth, so are (recte: it is) strong against ice. They (recte: It) can be cruel like an innocent child.
- Harpy A demon that can sing to seduce people. They are calm and rarely attack, but because of their voice, is (recte: are) hated by many.
- Lantern Fish A flying fish that can breath (recte: breathe) air, but can no longer live in water. It always looks at the fish in water with an envious stare.
- Living Bullet An (recte: A) being born only to explode. They are pitied by people, but they attain supreme happiness the moment they explode.
- Crag Mana Mana of Rock. Long ago, a human destroyed its favorite boulder, and since, has closed (recte: it has closed) its heart to humans.
- Caterperider A brownie raised by caterpillars. They have taken his bomb and tells (recte: tell) him to treat his life importantly.
- Stonewing Beast A man made (recte: man-made or manmade) stone beast with wings. It was too heavy, and didn't have enough flight power, and therefore, only a few were made.
- Dunkelknight Self-proclaimed, king of plants that rules the night. He is much stronger than a normal Dunkelhite (recte: Dunkelheit¹), but "king" may be going too far.
- Lore Beast A beast type monster that lives in the Old Schoolhouse. It loves gathering furry things and keeps it (recte: them) with him at all times.
¹ This one's actually kinda weird. In the other games in the series, the rare flower is called "Dunkelheit", but in Mana Khemia, it is genuinely "Dunkelhite", just as this enemy name. Despite this, there is another enemy in the game named "Dunkelheit", which is the one referenced by this entry.
Four course descriptions:
- Synthesis III Derivation (Syllabus) This synthesis course is high level and technical. You will synthesize the selected item, but the goal is to create it so that is (recte: it is) more [Strong]. (Also, "Strong" is not an actual effect description for the Heal Jar/X Heal.)
- Combat III Chain (Grade Req) Make more chains with Bursts! / Target: 10 Chain / Aprrox (recte Approx) 30 minutes
- Synthesis V Application (Task) "Neatly synthesize a Teraflame! (recte: Tera Flame)". (And "Detailed" is the actual trait they're looking for.)
- Combat V Power same error as Combat III Chain.
Incorrect Descriptions
One item:
- Uni Bomb Given range of "Area (S)", but it actually has the same range—Area (M)—as the Big Uni Bomb.
Three classes of equipment Ether Effects:
- Attack Spec/Attack Spec+ Actually stack with any ATK+ or MGK+ effect including Heavy/Sumo Heavy, despite explicit text to the contrary.
- Defense Spec/Defense Spec+ Same, except with DEF/RES.
- Light/Heavy/Very Heavy/Sumo Heavy Actually dependent on character, despite explicit text to the contrary.
Two Growth Elements:
- Immortal Body does not grant full SP Heal (only a medium one) on revival.
- Quick is described as granting a "Chance to halve action speed", but it actually grants a chance to halve WT.
Two job quests:
- Virgin of Snow (Job 054) Snow Maiden appears near the beginning of Cave of Origin, despite the description stating Bone Grove.
- Stop the Dragon Army (Job 069) This consecutive battle occurs in the far north/northeast of Heaven's Road, despite the description stating Bone Grove.
