Robots That Vacuum And Mop: What No One Is Discussing
Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet mess in one time and without the need to switch devices. They can also help save storage space compared to having two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot must have impressive navigation and obstacle avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bins and fill up their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads from the dock that is specifically designed for them.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer for its low cost, and it's one of the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is easy and the quick-start guide will have you up and running in no time with the complete dust bag, water tank and a hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops are spun at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a variety of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you want for each room.
You could, for instance request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation tech are also excellent and the robot is capable of detecting small obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. The only drawback is that it tends to hit objects and walls at full speed. However looking at the history of cleaning on the app will tell you exactly what the robot accomplished, where it's going, and which obstacles it has encountered or avoided.
The docking station features an LCD display that displays when maintenance is needed for cleaning up debris and washing the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank with a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time as well, with the mop being capable of running for 184 minutes in Quiet mode and the vacuum capable of running for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. And you can see the full cleaning details in the app, which is well laid out and easy to understand, though we would have liked to be able distinguish between a vacuum only or mop clean, when looking at a cleaned area in the cleaning history.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop is the most up-to-date version. In contrast to the model of last year it comes with a double agitator in its mopping pad, which greatly improves carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power which allows it to pick up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners could miss.
Like the other two Roborock models I've tried the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which can help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and includes dual cameras that can detect objects, determining whether they're walls or other surfaces. It then can alter its path automatically and clean around the objects without stumbling.
It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons which include the power button which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock and a home button to bring the robot back to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself, and the bin is auto-filling.
The only downside I found to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if it's required), it's a pain to take off the mount to wash it manually. I've found any plush carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mounts, which can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of smart features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can set up and manage these via the Roborock app, which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's lifespan. However, you'll have to go through a few hoops in order to enable voice control with this model which is a pity considering how well it performs otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its smart design allows users to tailor and effectively clean while saving time.
The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the most effective options available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry mess. It also has a high-quality mop that leaves floors sparkling clean, even without a wet pad. The X40 is also very quiet while in use, with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.
Another standout feature is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush which allows it to get into hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean furniture such as table and chair legs. The robot is also able to reach under low-profile furnishings which makes it an ideal option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush automatically tilts down when it spots wet spots. This is a great feature that allows the X40 to prevent damage to floors from the frequent back-and-forth movement.
Unlike related resource site that only focus on one thing, the X40 is capable of performing mopping and vacuuming at the same time or separately. It can also be programmed to avoid areas that have carpet and only mop hard floors, and vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.
My Source is simple to use and understand and the X40 is equipped with many clever features that are simple to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, view floor plans and mapping and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress, and alert you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to clean and has many convenient features, making it an ideal option for busy families. The docking station will automatically cleans the dustbin and mop pads before refilling them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It also can detect when the mop pad is overflowing and notify you when it overflows, thus reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models on the market. It has a number of features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature of its mop, utilizes two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also vacuum up pet hair, dirt particles and remove spills and dirt-stained spots.
The mop is cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This is a great feature as it stops the growth of odours and mould in storage, and it also makes mop systems more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen in other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home cleaner longer.
There's an impressive amount of settings available that include the ability to schedule cleaning and adjust a variety of preferences. The app allows you to set these preferences or you can utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and provides a number of options for customising your cleaning routine. It also has a number of features that aren't available on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.
My Source is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on the market, with a white and metallic design that is elegant and stylish. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots on this list - at 4kg but it's not too heavy either, and it is sturdy and well-built. Mopping is well designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
