Born in 1968, Ryman was the result of an unwanted pregnancy. In a family of 6, she was physically and emotionally neglected by her parents, being fed scraps of leftovers and receiving little to no attention, with the exception of her older sister, Tanya.

Ryman looked up to Tanya and saw her as a motherly figure, as she was the only person in her family who bothered caring for her and feeding her properly. She adapted many of Tanya’s habits and hobbies, especially her neatness and knack for writing.

One day, Tanya had invited Ryman to watch her as she wrote a thesis for a college assignment, and something clicked in Ryman’s head. She found a sense of purpose in literature and admired the structures and intricacies of writing, and would frequently go to Tanya for writing advice. In 1983, Tanya would be killed in a tragic car accident, leaving a heartbroken Ryman under the care of her mother Diana, who would frequently condescend and belittle Ryman.

With Tanya gone, Ryman soon fell back into a pit of self-isolation, despite yearning for any kind of social interaction. Whenever she would be invited into friend groups, she would inevitably be ostracized due to her awkward mannerisms and extreme clinginess. This cycle of making and losing friends followed her into college years, where she had managed to find a small and tightly knit group of friends that she eventually lost contact with after graduating. With nowhere else to go with a literature degree, a lonely Ryman applied for a position to write for a newspaper company, spending her free time drinking her problems away.

In early July of 1998, Ryman would meet Sergiy Kuznetsov at a bar she frequented. She fell for Sergiy’s charisma and flirtatious remarks, immediately becoming infatuated with him as she was not used to getting male attention like this. They hooked up at a nearby hotel later that night and exchanged numbers, as Ryman had wanted to see him again. She would propose a first date and multiple additional dates after that, eventually entering a relationship with him.

Three months into their romantic endeavors, Sergiy would grow bored of Ryman and completely ghost her, no longer returning her calls or acknowledging the letters she would mail to him. In an act of desperation, she would travel to Sergiy’s workplace that she had learned of during their relationship, only for the receptionist to inform her that he was not present at work that day. Ryman sulked to herself as she would exit the office, but was immediately surprised by the sight of Sergiy’s car parked across the street. She enthusiastically approached to reunite with him, soon being stopped dead in her tracks upon seeing Sergiy helping another woman leave the passenger seat.

Ryman quickly ran away before Sergiy could spot her and after that day she began to spiral, unable to emotionally handle what she had just witnessed. Spending the next month rotting away in her apartment, unknowing of what to do with herself. Her once neat living space was now covered in piles of trash and empty alcohol bottles. Broke and on the verge of eviction, she decided to spend most of the remaining money she had on a GG-17 and a single magazine to take her own life, as she could no longer bear the agony of feeling used and abandoned by someone she loved so deeply. After arriving back at her apartment, Ryman spent hours sobbing on the bathroom floor before loading her gun and hesitating, contemplating attacking Sergiy’s workplace instead as a last minute decision.

She planned to take the lives of Sergiy and the coworker she saw him with before pulling the gun on herself so she could finally get back at everyone she felt had hurt her so deeply. The very next morning on the 3rd of December, she put on some makeup to make herself look pretty for what she was about to do and spent the last of her savings on a few extended mags. After heading towards Sergiy’s workplace in a fit of determined rage, Ryman stood in the parking lot, staring at the building in front of her.

She hesitated for a moment, considering the weight of her actions before remembering how the receptionist had told her Sergiy wasn’t at work that day. She convinced herself that they all knew. Everyone in that office was in on what he had done to her. The pain of being dumped by him, all of those hours she wasted writing heartfelt letters to him, and the constant agonizing emptiness she felt in her chest was their fault too, and she wouldn’t let them get away with that.

hi ryman! This is just a placeholder, LOL...
