Aesthetics
As a design-centric company Bentley takes its aesthetics extremely seriously. It shows in the precision placement of its quilting, the choice of leather sourced from cattle by-products, the wood from sustainably managed forests and the creative patterns on its levers. As you approach a vehicle like the Continental GT W12, its stunning design is accentuated by carefully selected lighting.
The Continental GT is the most sophisticated open-top Bentley ever created. The rear tonneau on the Continental GT, for example, featured the largest piece of dark-stained Burr Walnut veneer that was book-matched. Similarly, the electrically-operated glass sunroof and champagne cooler that incorporated hand-blown and hand-cut lead crystal bottles marked a new benchmark in luxury and innovation.

Bentley's distinctive design reflects company's values of fine craftsmanship, engineering expertise, and modern technology. Over 4,000 people work at the Crewe headquarters, responsible for the development, design and production of Bentley automobiles. These workers apply the skills passed over generations and then apply them to the latest in automotive technology. This is the characteristic of British manufacturing at its finest.
Personalisation
Bentley's bespoke division, Mulliner, allows customers to design their own car. Guests sit at a series of images, referred to "mood stations" and choose a selection of photos - from scenic landscapes to sporting events that inspire them to design their own. When each selection is made, a pattern will emerge, which reveals the design and color preferences for the custom Bentley.
The configuration that is created is saved to individual R.F.I.D.-enabled key cards that are then presented to the guests in a custom-made key case. The keys can also be outfitted with Bentley Muliner Personalised Welcome Lamps that illuminate the door's opening path with the owner's name and/or emblem when they are approaching the vehicle.
Bentley estimates that it takes around 500 man-hours to construct and put together the Mulsanne. The main reason for this lengthy effort is a deliberate decision to embrace the latest technology. Instead of making use of a machine to space the perfectly matched leather seats, workers at the Crewe factory do it by hand. Drivers have to park their cars manually, rather than relying on sensors built-in to guide them into parallel and perpendicular spots.
Bentley showcased its Mulliner personalization abilities with the release of a special Mulsanne W.O. Edition, that pays homage to the founder William Osler Bentley. The Mulsanne W.O. Edition pays tribute to the founding father of the brand, William Osler Bentley. The limited edition cars include keys that display the 1930 8 Litre crankshaft.
