A Demon's Musings

AKA Gristletooths Relationship Chart/thoughts on all the current players in and out of the Empire

Duke Archibald

The kind of fellow I can agree with, given his affinity for good food and good times. Archibald is the exact sort of person that makes fighting against Abadon worth it: If everyone were church zealots looking for their apocolypse then it'd be a dreary world.

Quinn Smith

I hear quite a alot about her from the flow of adventureres heading to and from Last Rest: Not a fun city, but certainly one thats well considered. Keeping whatevers in that dungeon from breaking free and getting at the weaklings above ground is the worst outcome. The Lady herself is one I'd to share a drink with if she could stomach the looks of a deformed demon.

"Saint" Maluscomedo

Possibly the worst priest I've ever met or heard of, but he's a much better warlock than any churchman has any right to be. Perhaps he'll help poach some soldiers from Abadon, or use that portal to give us a shortcut into his lands. Either way, I'd prefer his ways over a sending thousands of men to die on the spears eager for the kills.

Silas Nash

If Humanity has a particularly bright spot, its him. The only thing keeping his dreams from reality the coming of Abadon and his own lack of worldliness. Hopefully the latter is helped by the former should the mortal world actually survive.

Nestor Wolf

Intensity given shape and form, not the kind of man I'd want to cross. I applaud his willingness to work with the dark forces instead of making them strike back. If he needs an anti-church ally(and my own little crusade can be postponed), I'll be ready to step in.

Tanaka Haruto

The whiff of strange magic sits on him like a bad perfume. Something brought him here, a being outside of our space and time perhaps. Regardless, we both share a particuler "problem" with many "enthusiatic" female monster breeds. I've found giving them thrill-seekers to entertain helps keep things calm, but I'll keep an eye on his method for solving the problem should he find one at all.

Lord Erimanthius

An outlander who lives without the need for the empire, or the want to be a part of its problem. Regardless, his skirmishers may be very useful in delaying an all out invasion should the worst come to pass so perhaps my own split tongue will be needed to convince him that we can do more as a whole. Regardless of how much of an ocean of steppe one is in, no man is an island.

"The Angel", Emmanuel

I build a place of joy and commerce for the poor and displaced, and I get called a monster. He siphons the lot of armed men to turn into merciless killers in some death-wish to face Abadons armies in open combat and he is hailed as a hero. I'd wager the second he layed an eye on my ugly visage is when he'd decide Carnival needs to burn, me along with it. I've met this sort before amongst humans, but he is the real deal: utterly lost in a delusion that you can simply burn evil with enough men and arms and deaf to all other approaches.
At the same time, should all other approaches fail, he may be what saves man from total extinction. He cannot be dealt with without extreme consequence either, and serves as a unifying force. This is all to say that I must find a way to swallow my pride and work with him but am choking on the bones of it.

Aura Hirpinia

Another zealot who has been threatening Carnival as we've been large enough to be worth fighting. Perhaps not evil, but certainly too deep in her "faith" to look at me as anything but a threat, even if the emperor himself spoke in my defense. Perhaps its for the best that I have enemies that will never change, to keep me on my toes and wary even I happen to survive all of this.

Vicaro de'Barca

A worldly man from a worldly house that wisely takes control from the shadows. At least a snake like him has to keep himself and his house alive to enjoy their fortune and power rather than taking a deal from Adadon. Perhaps theres some common ground we have too, wanting to enjoy what is ours for a bit longer.

Harold "The Hardass" Staggard

An angry tome of laws given human form, easy to cross from the sound of it and not the type to forgive and forget the crossing. Suffice it to say I'd fail his judgement given the compromises needed to keep witches, adventurers, ghosts, monsters, and humans happy. However, he is an ally against Abadon so perhaps is able to see past my monsterous origins.

Lady Lyoncaster of Pearlcrest

A learned lady leader of logical learners, close to the capitol and the inheritor of what seems to be the humans bastion of magical learning. I'd love to see how they learn their magic, given mine was simply inherent to my creation by Abadon. An asset that must be protected, obviously.

Avesta

A warlord of the undead, but one that seems more sane than that lot usually end up. If nothing else, the end times Abadon is bringing will create plenty of "material" for him to use, and I doubt he is eager to to have his body and soul taken by the demon lord. Ultimately self preservation affects even the undead(hopefully).

"Saint" Mog

Perhaps the most gold-hungry being I have ever seen, like all the magpies in the world melded together into one being. At the very least, it makes motivating them an answered question. I simply worry about the price for her allegance give the treasuries of Abadon could be boundless.

Lucia of House Carafa

The material lifeline of the Empire, and one that thankfully seems dutiful according to the travelers words. If there is a reigon to be guarded as heavly as possible, it is hers. More lives depend on her lands than I can count. As for her personage, I beleive her will to live is stronger than her zealotry. Perhpas we may have a chance at making a deal.

Levi "The Piper" Du Ponte

A man who has no doubt heard of me, though whether or not I am ally or quarry is something I cannot confirm yet. There is the slightest trace of magic on his letters. Nothing even the witches can trace as a curse, so perhaps the Princess is right in my decaying mental state.

Emperor Aurelious

As someone who has seen Abadon, I can say Aurelious looks much more like a god than him. Perhaps he is one given the flesh and form of a man, sent to meet the challenge of the end times in advance. In either sense, I'd rather him rule.

Lord Steerspike

A fearsome master of drakes and ships, alongside more esoteric floating ships. More of a source of fear despite out distance given his ability to rain fire fire and death from both drakes and mechanisms. Hopefully moral grounds can prove to be a slight shield against his potential wrath.

Grandmaster Evian

Undeath is not usually as tame as his case, but he is dangerous due the vengeful streak I've heard of him. Its a cause which make one deaf to reason or sense. Frankly, another potential source of doom.

Sir Atticus Hendrix

An academic, inventor, mage, and leader all at once: A man I would like to ally with if possible. Of course, that assumes quite alot about his political needs for the church and if that wins out over the knowledge I can offer.

Natas Reficul

More demon than he is man. Perhaps fighting against him is what will prove my loyalty to man over monster to those who think of me as just a spy looking for a weakness to give to Abadon.

Alcyone Pertinax

An "undesirable" of great esteem, possibly the highest standing of her kind. Perhaps the only reason I am tolerated to live... for now. Suffice it to say, I'd wish only for her to be heard more.

Baron Raspail

Another man who took it as his goal in life to line his pockets, not that I'm one to point fingers. At the very least he has taken the threat seriously and seems to be making some moves to to defend his opulance. A greasy obsticle of gold is still an obsticle at the end of the day.

"Archangel" Seraphina

Yet another militant zealot who is within the acceptable range of being monsterous to the masses of humans who trek long and hard to reach her. Am I jealous her kind is granted clemency and worship? Yes.
Do I intend to become as hypocratic as her? No.

Filius Lupa

A strange, morally grey sort that I share many problems with. He is some degree of leverage at least, and an ally in the worst of scenarios if he does not play traitor. He at least understands the value of magic, even if his obesessions run deep.

Piza the Conquerer

About as standard for a Lord of the land as one can get. Besides the fact he would smile at my head on a platter given his slavery of the more bestial members of his realm, I see little else to mention about such a banal man.

Tiberious Rex, The Pirate King

A free spirit who seeks riches and glory on the high seas. Hopefully that means a more open mind or a willingness to accept a price for an open mind. I've no doubt some mage can make his ships fly on land to wreck havoc.

Giovanni Florina

The bridge keeper of the central lands, and a man who seems to have an "interesting" idea on how to survive an invasion. He is making an massive boat, a floating town to drift about despite the creation of Abbadon having more than good capablilities on the air and sea. Regardless, it may work for a few precsious months. A good friend if smuggling is what will keep my people alive.
