Are You Confident About Robots That Vacuum And Mop Take This Quiz

Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry and wet messes in one session, without having to switch between devices. They also can save space in comparison to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot should have impressive navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bins, refill their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads using a dedicated dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the easiest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you running with a clean, complete dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in no time.

The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can mops up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops spin at fast speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of pet hair, dirt, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a range of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you want for each room.

For instance, you can, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models cannot. The only drawback is that it tends to crash into objects and walls at full speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning on the app will tell you exactly what the robot accomplished, where it's moving, and what obstacles it has encountered or avoided.

The docking station has an LCD display that displays the need for maintenance for cleaning up debris and rinsing the water tank that is dirty. It also mixes detergent into the water tank automatically with a 600ml of eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time, with the mop capable of running for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode, and the vacuum able to do 136 minutes in normal mode before having to recharge or return to the base to replenish. The app is easy to use and intuitive and lets you see every aspect of the cleaning.

2. automatic vacuum is the latest version of the company's flagship robot mop and vacuum. It's not like the model from last year it comes with two agitators in its mopping pad which significantly improves its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to pick up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners might overlook.

Like the two other Roborock models I've tested the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that helps it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they're an object that is a wall or a different surface. It then can alter its course in a way that is automatic and clean around the objects without missing a step.

It's the most expensive of the three models I've examined, however, it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek, angular design is eye-catching and it has just three physical buttons which include the power button that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can send the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml of water tank. The water tank will empty itself, and the bin is auto-refilling.

The only downside I've found with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if necessary) but it's a challenge to take off the mount for manual washing. I've observed that any carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mount, which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these through the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you plan cleanings and monitor the battery's lifespan. You'll need to go through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering the performance otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop equipped with outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its clever design permits customized and efficient cleaning while saving you time.

The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the most effective alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up dry mess, including pet hair and crumbs. It also comes with a high-quality mop that makes hard floors spotlessly clean, even with a wet pad. The X40 is also very quiet when in operation and only occasionally bursting during mode changes or self-maintenance.

The X40 also comes with a side brush that can be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean curved furniture such as table and chair legs. It can also get under furniture with low profile which makes it a great choice for small apartments or condos. The side brush tilts automatically down when it detects wet spots. This is a nice feature that helps the X40 to avoid damaging floors by repeated back-and-forth movements.

Contrary to other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can mop and vacuum at the same time. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas, and reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.

The app is easy to use and intuitive, and the X40 is equipped with many clever features that are easy to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, see mapping and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to keep clean and has many convenient features that make it an excellent choice for busy families. The docking station will automatically cleans the dustbin and mop pads before refilling them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It also can detect the moment when the mop pad is at its maximum capacity and alert you to the situation before it overflows.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive models available and comes with many additional features that set it apart. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub that uses two high-speed mops to scrub floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it has the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can vacuum up pet hair and small dirt particles - in addition to removing spills and wet spots.

The mops are cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This is a fantastic feature as it stops the growth of odours and mould in storage, and also makes mop systems more efficient. This is a system has yet to be seen on other robot vacuums and mop models and could be a good method to keep your home hygienic for longer.

There are many options, including the option to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. These can be set via the app or buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and provides a variety of options for customising the cleaning process, and there are a lot of features that other robots do not include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles instead of using the manual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen in the market, sporting metallic and white colors that looks elegant and classy. It's heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots on this list - at around 4kg but it's not too heavy, and feels robust and well built. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors as well as in corners. They can even extend up to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice addition.
