BPD splitting is where someone with bpd is unable to allow grey areas within their thinking, causing them to think in black in white, or 'absolute' terms such as always or never. it also causes rapid and dramatic mood changes (eg; becoming furious or thrilled, even if feeling the opposite way before), unstable emotions and impulsive behaviours.
