Hello ♡ Shani is my last name, and I would like to explain its meaning and my connection to it.

The word shani means a dark red color, like scarlet or crimson. The first recorded use of it was to describe a red string in the torah, the holy book in Judaism.
Although originating in Judaism, khutt hashani, the red string, has influenced and found its way into many cultures. In Judaism it is a strong symbol of our religion, and is used as a talisman to keep away the evil eye. Back in the 1940s, when Jews weren't allowed to practice their religion due to the nazi law, Jews would wear the red string to remember the commandment of Tefilin. In East Asian cultures, the red string is a symbol for connections; in Chinese mythology it represents destined and unbreakable relationships of fate.

In fiction, red strings often show as a form of concealment. My favorite uses of it are to bind souls and to tie curses. Red string holds deep meanings in many cultures, and I am proud to be named after it. It is my favorite name in the world, and I can't help but feel some excitement when it plays valuable roles in media.
The god of karma is named Shani. He is also the god of justice, time, and retribution. I adore religions and enjoy studying them even when they are not my own, and Shani is such an interesting and powerful god. There are many justice gods, and deities of justice, but Shani is the only one who owns the title of "God of Karma". This section will be expanded with time.
