helloooo, if youve clicked a link labeled "source" on one of our rentrys and been brought to this, that means that the person you're talking to is from a problematic source. some problematic sources are problematic because of their creators (ex. harry potter and jk rowling's blatant transphobia), some are problematic because of the material itself (ex. hisoka from hxh for being a creep), or because of both (ex. psychocuties with tamakuz's harmful art, and masacrik murdering and his relationship with mimi).
we cannot control the things we are sourced from. please do not attack anyone on any side of that equation, especially the alters themselves as it is not their fault. this message is just a disclaimer!!
.
- we DO NOT condone ANY of the actions done by any fictional character within source, or the actions of any one creator involved in the making of said sources.
- we do NOT monetarily support any of the creators we are sourced from. willingly or not. we simply do not have the funds to purchase merch, and we would not willingly do so if we knew a creator was problematic.
- if the fictive youre talking to is that of a character that takes problematic actions within their source, they are not that person. you cannot blame a real, living human being for the actions of the fictional character they are sourced from.
- most of the fictives we had that are sourced from problematic materials are extremely hurt and view their source as a point of shame. for you to continue to blame the actions of a hurt inividual on something they couldnt control (ex. a creator being part of a hate group, the character commiting heinous crimes within their source (which cannot be controled as their source is obviously not written by us)) is extremely hurtful. we maintain our right to not talk to anyone who continues to judge or belittle alters for their sources.
- if you do not recognize someone from their source, and wish to learn about it, we are not the place to pursue that information. if any one alter does not want to admit their source, they have that right to privacy. if they are open about their source but do not wish to elaborate on it, instead of pursuing the material you should look to those rightfully criticising it. you can look to any major social media platform for that.
