GLOSSARY

General Terminology

RUNESPACE: Refers to how much 'storage' a given focus has or spell/sigil occupies. As a rule, spells must fit within their Focus's specified runespace requirements.

PWR: A spell's PWR is used to determine the potency of many of its effect sigils

DC: Refers to the value a roll against that target must exceed in order to successfully hit that target. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, assume offensive or debuff sigils necessitate a hit to take effect

HP: Hieroshield Points when referring to you and your allies, Hit Points when referring to enemies. In either case, this represents how much damage a given individual can sustain before being incapacitated

ACC: Refers to bonuses or maluses to hit rolls

ACTION AND MOV ACTION: Unless explicitly stated otherwise, you, every round, get one standard action and one MOV action. Your standard action has a number of uses, including but not limited to casting spells, scavenging corpses, mining coreshards, or activating certain equipment abilities. A standard action (or just 'action') can be converted into a MOV action. A MOV action may be expended to move according to your MOV stat, or used for a number of spell and equipment abilities as per their specifications.

FREE ACTION: Does not expend MOV or Standard action. There is no set cap to the number of free actions you can take in a turn.

CASTING ACTION: A Casting Action is a standard action performed while you reserve the ability to cast spells (i.e. not under some penalty status like Übersmite)

SCAVENGE: A scavenging action is performed upon an enemy corpse, initiating a loot roll with payouts based on that enemy's status (mook, intermediate, or elite). Scavenging actions may be performed ON or ADJACENT TO the tile occupied by the corpse, unless otherwise stated

MINING: A mining action allows you to mine a coreshard deposit, initiating a payout using the Coreshard Deposit loot table. You must be ON a coreshard deposit (not adjacent) to mine it, unless otherwise stated

Sigils and Equipment:

BEND: A spell with BEND may freely alter its trajectory midair

PIERCE: A spell with Pierce may continue its trajectory after targeting an ally or enemy, regardless of whether it hit or missed

CHAIN: A spell with Chain may, after successfully hitting a target, go to another target within its Chaining range. The limit to target count and the spell's chaining range are specified by the form sigil.

DEATH KNELL: A status condition that renders you unable to receive healing from any source while in effect. You may still receive other buffs, including Barrier and Quickstep.

CONDEMNED: A status condition that decreases your own DC by 5 and inflicts 2 points of universal damage weakness. If your DC drops below zero, gain additional damage vulnerability for every point of negative DC while this status is active.

FOLLY STACKS: Folly stacks are an accumulated penalty inflicted by certain sigils and equipment. They cannot be Purified, but may be removed at will as a Free action unless otherwise stated. When you remove Folly stacks, take 2 points of damage for every Folly stack removed. If your Folly stacks ever exceed or equal your limit, you are instantly evacuated. If your hieroshield is broken at the end of a round where you opted to remove Folly stacks, you are instantly evacuated.
