Full Thickness Burns
Full thickness burns (sometimes known as 3rd degree burns) are burns that burn through all 3 layers of skin.

First Aid tips
- Call 999.
- Check for any other burns or injuries.
- Evaluate the person for breathing and pulse.
- Remove any tight clothing from the burned areas but do not remove any clothing stuck to the burn.
- Elevate any burned areas above the heart if possible.
Do Not
- Soak the burn in water
- Wrap the burn in cling film
- Wipe the burn
However do
- Wrap the burn in a sterile bandage or cloth. Not too tightly.
