BACKSTORY :
before alchemy, rhinedottir had always wanted to do ballet. the grace and ethereal aura from ballerinas always awed her since birth. to be one with the swans and dance away at her problems was a term of coping for her, she enjoyed dancing away in ballet. ultimately, a career change was in place for her after realizing that maybe she wasn't built right for ballet, her body was too lanky and unproportioned, unlike the other, more graceful ballerinas with bodies perfectly aligned to being in ballet. ultimately, rhinedottir's own insecurities ate at her from the inside like a cavity. until she convinced herself that ballet was no fit for her, despite what minimal praise she received. but her love for swans and ballet never diminished. swans connected to her like none other.
in alchemy, she seemed to be a child prodigy. excelling in alchemy, she was renowned as an alchemist, not a ballerina. understanding alchemy was beyond child's play, rhinedottir understood alchemy more than fully grown adults with decades of experience at age fifteen. even with her success in her new career, she never felt accomplished. everything felt too easy, she never felt anything fun when she learned and learned more about being an alchemist, everything was so... so damn easy. with her success in alchemy, she was able to assist in her nation. learning more and more, growing things, making things, advancing things, and much more. but it was all boring, in her free time, she would create new things, experiments, often causing much more destruction and chaos for herself in the meanwhile.
and then, she made a breakthrough in alchemy. a subject she calls the art of khemia, the ability to create synthetic living. rhinedottir was a frequent user of the art of khemia, creating wolves, dragons, and even humans. her new style of alchemy completely changed the way she saw alchemy. she was excited for once, yearning to discover more about what she made. to find out every little thing, to know the side effects of every little thing about khemia. rhinedottir pulled numerous all-nighters researching about her discovery. being awake for days without rest to figure out all the things she needed to know. rhinedottir had become so infatuated with alchemy, she loved it. it was amazing how much khemia changed her view on alchemy completely.
and when she was finished with her research, she knew exactly what to do next. create her ultimate project, proof of her success. a vessel to proof that she had finally acquired the final few lessons of alchemy. use her khemia to create a synthetic human.
RP SAMPLE :
she’s always dreamed of a child. a perfect creation that would live as long as her, but it wasn’t that simple. everything had to be absolutely exact to what she wanted, the perfect son.
rhinedottir had been studying the art of khemia for a long time, it’s ability to recreate life. it was beautiful. it was messy. it took time for gold to learn the powers, but it was all worth it for her baby boy.
he wasn’t the first, there were many attempts before him. yet, none of them were as perfect as he was. there he was.
albedo. what a beautiful boy he was.
rhinedottir admired the small vial her son was contained in as she walked around her alchemy room in khaenri’ah. he was as small as her finger, for right now. but he would soon grow into her most perfect creation.
“albedo, can you hear me?”
rhinedottir took small steps up to the wooden holder that her beautiful boy was placed in.
“it’s your mother. i wish you were ready enough to stand on your two feet, but i must not rush life. you’re the most perfect thing i’ve created. i don’t want you to become another failed experiment of mine. when you’re older, i’ll teach you everything i know about alchemy, and you’ll be just like mom.”
she smiled, placing one finger on the glass vial to caress her son. her other hand held a handwritten journal.
“i’ll show you everything inside this little book of mine, and you’ll be one of the greatest alchemists alongside me. this book has everything i’ve ever learned about alchemy from when i was little. i’ve been needing to constantly add more pages, so don’t mind if mommy’s book appears like its from hundreds of other pages, okay?”
she watched as albedo slowly shifted, changing positions in that tiny little vial. oh, how she wished to hold him dearly. but she couldn’t right now, she needed her boy to finish this task first.
then, when he gets older, she’ll assign him to a couple more tasks. so he can learn more about the world than she ever could. he’ll be her disciple and she’ll raise him to be the perfect boy ever.
she couldn’t wait to take care of her beautiful little boy. he was the prize of her knowledge, and how long she had spent all these years in solitude for.
