Bomberman 64

Goal - Beat the first three worlds (Green, Blue, Red)
Start - Before go, select ADVENTURE in the main menu, select a save slot, watch the unskippable intro cinematic, and wait on the world select screen
End - When "Stage Cleared" appears after the last boss

You can play the worlds in any order, but it's recommended to do them in default order, Green Garden, Blue Resort, Red Mountain.

Controls

A - Drop bomb, press again to kick it. Mash while holding a bomb to inflate it.
B - Talk to characters. Pick up bomb when standing in front of it, press again to throw. Can throw further based on analog stick.
Z - Trigger remote controlled bombs (needs item)
R - Stop kicked bomb
C-Butttons - Change camera

Hold B and press A to spawn a new bomb right in your hands.

Notes

After losing all lives, you have a limited number of continues to continue in the same stage. If you cannot continue, you are sent back to the title screen, but can continue from your save slot, which also saves for every stage.

Inflated bombs can destroy or move things that regular bombs can't (there's a kind of ringing noise in that case). some things can only be destroyed by special red bombs (item).

An important advanced mechanic of this game is bouncing on bombs. You shouldn't need it too much for this goal, but maybe a few times. If you drop down onto a bomb you will bounce up. You can cross gaps by putting one or more bombs into the gap and then falling in, so that the bombs bounce you across.

You can also kick bombs by running into them.

Stunned enemies can be picked up like bombs.

Trivia

The gold cards you might find are required to unlock the true final world. Finding them can be very difficult, and sometimes you need to build complex bomb bridges to find them in the stages (which is my favorite part of this game). The true final world in particular requires some crazy bomb bridge constructions to even beat the stages.

The question mark items unlock costumes, which can only be used in multiplayer.

There is another Bomberman 64 game, called the Arcade Edition, which is pretty much just a classic Bomberman battle game. It only came out in Japan.

Bomberman 64 also has a direct sequel called Bomberman 64: The Second Attack. It was a pretty late release for the N64 and did not even come out in Europe. It's supposed to be one of the rarest and most expensive games on the system.
