Takaishi Kuroda looks like a powerhouse straight out of a delinquent gang as he is built like a tank, and naturally strong to the point of seeming almost superhuman. Because of that, gangs are always trying to recruit him, but he’s got zero interest in fighting or posturing. Deep down he’s a softie who’d much rather focus on studying, tending flowers, and working at his family’s flower shop. He even makes bouquet deliveries and is part of the gardening club.

The thing is, he’s kind of spineless, easily scared and bad at saying “no” to people. His go-to move is to dodge or avoid trouble, but that only made him gain a reputation as a “lone wolf tough guy.” His classmates may know better, but to outsiders he looks like this mysterious, untouchable fighter, which just makes more delinquents line up to challenge or recruit him. In reality, he’s just a shy nerd who loves plants.

Takaishi found himself in over his head when his cousin, the one who got him tangled up with the yakuza, got into trouble trying to abandon that same life himself. Shu Jinkō was the one who stepped in, charging into the mess without hesitation and risking his own life to save them both. That day burned itself into Takaishi’s memory, sparking something that had long been buried under fear and passivity: a faint but genuine courage. Since then, Takaishi has been trying to live up to Shu’s example, even if it’s in small, clumsy steps.

He still avoids danger whenever he can, but when someone he trusts gives an order—or when things spiral too quickly for him to overthink—he can act with surprising strength and determination.. Though he’d rarely talk openly about it, there’s a part of him that wants to be brave, even if he doesn’t believe he’s capable of it yet.

Info

  • His birthday is April 2nd.
  • Has quite a lot of favorite foods: Strawberry shortcake, omurice, herbal tea & chamomile cookies and ocassionally fried lotus root.
  • Bad with spicy food.
  • His family runs Kuroda Flowers. It’s attached to their home. Takaishi handles morning watering, counter service, and deliveries on his motorbike (which he rides timidly and too slowly).
  • Secretly writes down the meanings of flowers (hanakotoba) and actually wants to use them when choosing arrangements for customers. Though he's never done so.

When he was younger, he practiced karate, mostly because his parents thought it would help with his shyness. He trained seriously for several years and built a solid foundation but he never entered tournaments. The idea of fighting someone just to win made him uncomfortable, and sparring always left him feeling anxious and guilty afterward.

Despite that, his talent was undeniable. His instructors often said that if he’d stuck with it, he could’ve reached national level without much trouble. His natural coordination and athleticism made him a prodigy-in-waiting—he just didn’t have the temperament for combat. Even now, that training still shows in the way he moves when (reluctantly) fighting, years later.

Academically, Takaishi is also no slouch. He’s not a top genius like some of Higan’s prodigies, but he’s a quick learner with strong memory and analytical instincts. He actually enjoys studying especially subjects with structure, like biology and chemistry, which tie back into his love for plants.

Basically the kind of guy who can both carry ten bags of fertilizer effortlessly and recite the Latin names of every plant in the greenhouse.

Idolon - Nameless

Takaishi is completely freaked out by his Idolon. He hasn’t even named it—hence everyone else just calls it Nameless. He can barely stand to look at it, let alone give it orders. Every time he summons it, his anxiety spikes like a panic attack.

Despite that, Nameless never acts out of malice. Its nature, shaped by Beast II, makes it wild and impulsive, but not cruel. It behaves almost like a loyal, oversized animal: instinctive, gentle in its own way, and utterly devoted to protecting others. It dashes and lunges across the battlefield without hesitation, interposing itself between danger and Takaishi’s allies.

Among the known Idolons, it boasts one of the highest levels of physical strength. Yet, for all that power, Nameless seems strangely childlike. It tilts its head, it huffs softly when praised, and sometimes it just seems more interested with playing around when there's no danger nearby.
