Privacy Policy for Express VPN
Effective Date: June 11, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Express VPN ("we", "our", or "us") manages data when you interact with our browser extension. Our development team strictly follows a zero-knowledge approach, ensuring data minimization and user anonymity.

  1. Single Purpose Rule
In compliance with the Chrome Web Store policy frameworks, this extension serves one isolated function: to configure browser proxy parameters to adjust your virtual location and restore access to network resources. There are no hidden modules, behavioral analytics tools, or unrelated background operations embedded in this software.
  2. Zero-Logs Framework
To guarantee your privacy, we enforce a strict data exclusion protocol:

No Identity Records: You do not need to create an account, log in, or submit personal information (such as your name or email) to use the extension.

No Browsing History: We never track, record, capture, or store the web pages you visit, the content you stream, or the data you input.

Real-Time Transmission: Data routing through our proxy servers happens completely in real-time (transient processing). Your traffic simply passes through our infrastructure and is never written to persistent databases, log files, or physical storage.

  1. Required Browser Permissions
The extension requests a minimal permission set to perform its core functions:

proxy: Used exclusively to apply and modify proxy server configurations within the browser environment based on your selection.

storage: Used strictly on the client side to keep track of basic application states, such as your last selected country and whether the tool is toggled ON or OFF. This data stays local to your device.

tabs: Used solely during the initial post-installation phase to programmatically trigger a new tab opening the welcome onboarding page. This helps guide you through the interface and is never used to monitor your ongoing browsing activity or active tabs.

  1. Third-Party Sharing Restrictions
We do not sell, rent, trade, or distribute any user information to advertising networks, data brokers, or external analytics agencies. Since we collect absolutely no data regarding your web activity, no records exist for third-party exposure.
  2. Document Amendments
We may occasionally update this policy text to maintain full compliance with changing web store regulations. The "Effective Date" at the top indicates when the latest revision was applied.
