Im idk why this isn't discussed, but I want to note that one fandom has fully transformed into a mini-model of North Korea—where freedom of speech is completely suppressed, many artist groups are persecuted, and this is encouraged by the overwhelming majority. It's even had a significant influence on other fandoms in the rise of new wave of purity culture*—and that's the FPE fandom. It's a shame not to mention this fandom as patient zero in the development of full-fledged internet totalitarianism in fandoms. The majority of this fandom are children—those who got brainwashed by manipulations of one community person and done together a mini-model of North Korea. And that person responsible for much of this, is Edgy.
*Purity culture is a position in fandom culture that supports censoring and controlling content in fandom by any methods
Chapter 1: Introduction and What Happened
For those who don't know, FPE ( Fundamental Paper Education) is an indie project created by YouTuber Kaaatie. Its popularity has grown exponentially (1).
In September 2024, Katie posted a message hinting that she no longer wanted to draw FPE. Her posts related to her depression and axienity had appeared previously, starting in July 2024 (4). This occurred due to increased pressure from haters and increased popularity, but it worsened after the fandom, most of whom are children, horrified by what happened to Katie, began spreading rumors that she canceled the project because of porn, pro-shipping*, and content farms, which are pure fan fiction. This pattern allowed the fandom to become a prison where artistic freedom is suppressed, pro-shippers and r34 artists are persecuted, all for the protecting "author boundaries" and "protecting children," which is a total scam, while simultaneously failing to address the true cause of what is happening (5)
Katie then simply left the fandom on February 12, 2025, due to pressure from parasocial fanatics and haters.
As is well known, r34 content, content makers, and pro-shipping are what keep any fandom alive, and any attempt to ban them always leads to tragic consequences.
Most of the drama has happen bc of infantile fans crying about drawings like pro-shipping,* content makers, and r34 arts.
*pro-shipping is the position in fandom culture that supports artistic freedom without any restrictions

Chapter 2: Details about that person (and why she is guilty for that):
In this story joins someone named Edgy (now Eni), an FPE fan. She became famous for her involvement and contribution to the FPE fandom culture. She also became famous for her connections to Katie and as the sole intermediary between the FPE fandom and Katie. She has already responded to this in several of her posts. However, her words in the posts were emotional and lacked any legit proofs (except for her claims about the haters), which only exacerbated the current situation in the fandom. Her words, in turn, are an outright lie. Her words have contributed greatly to turning the FPE fandom into a totalitarian prison and further spread rumors. It's very difficult to figure out where she went wrong the first time, but certain red flags are still hidden in some of her posts.
I also want to present red flags for her behavior and how destructive it is:
A) "She had her OCs stolen and damaged in horrible ways" (~October-November 2024) (1) (found at the end of the post)
In this section of the post that marked, she said this to the entire public without providing any legit proofs, hinting at r34 artists and pro-shippers - this is obvious manipulation,
B) Back in June 2024, long before this nightmare, Edgy created art where she hints at her hate on pro-shippers and r34 artists - however, this is very common for self-proclaimed anti-pedophile activists, who don't fight actual against true pedophiles but fight against specific types of art (5)
C) One of the passages in Edgy's last post in YouTube channel about this situation finally cemented the persecution of those groups of artists, manipulations marked here—here again, blatant manipulation (third page) (~Feb 12-15, 2025)

Conclusion about her manipulations: With her emotional manipulations, lies and hints of her hatred for those groups of artists, she made the fandom even more hostile to them, turning the entire fandom into her personal army to fight against the content she deems "inappropriate." This behavior is extremely destructive and manipulative. She's definitely hiding the truth from the fandom

Chapter 3: The Legacy and Danger of This
This phenomenon is dangerous because it has spread to other fandoms after FPE – here too, signs of an internet prison have begun to appear, where artistic freedom is just as controlled as in FPE Fandom, but it manifests itself differently depending on the level of fandom maturity and the current crises. No proof is needed about this; it's already become an axiom. This is dangerous because that phenomenon, when spreading, can turn the whole fandom into a totalitarian prison where artistic freedom is suppressed, and fandom and creativity dying. This is also spreading well due to the fact that the number of fans in fandoms also growing, which is a infantile teenagers, who have an childish understanding of the world, are very prone to herd behavior and are very vulnerable, and some adults, who are either greedy or their opinion matches with their opinion, benefit from presenting entire innocent groups of artists as "guilty for everything" to earn authority and approval from those infantile teenagers.
The most shameful thing is that even major youtubers who mention this topic fail to mention the true cause of what's happening and fail to condemn the fandom for suppressing artistic freedom and Edgy for provocation, blaming the NSFW, pro-shippers, and content creators for this situation, fearing being canceled and doxxed, thereby continuing to endanger innocent groups of artists through their cowardice!
Chapter 3.1: The Moment It Reaches Total Censorship in Many Countries after that...
This chapter may seem like banal nonsense, but let's be honest:
There are no trivial details in this world; everything in this world is interconnected.
We live in a world where any trivial detail can become the cause of a global catastrophe.
Edgy's lies and the rise of purtity culture in the FPE fandom contributed not only to the rise of a purity culture in other fandoms, but also to the strengthening of censorhip policy in many countries, such as in EU countries, the UK, and the US, that promotes total censorship and the suppression of free speech, all under the pretext of "protecting children."
This is also leaded to a butterfly effect:
- The FPE fandom fosters a culture of suppressing creative freedom for the "protecting children" and "protecting the author's boundaries," normalizing doxxing, cyberbullying, and harassment against the "wrong" types of artists.
- Edgy, taking benefit of this, fuels the fire and brings the suppression of creative freedom to the point where it is completely normalized, thereby destroying the fandom.
- Even though the FPE fandom has been destroyed, many young users, having gained this experience, are taking it with them to other communities. This habit has spreaded to other fandoms
- This is becoming so widely discussed and encouraged in most fandoms that it has influenced governments in several countries to impose total content censorship and age verification to "protect children."
- And so, the internet is turning into a totalitarian hell after this, all thanks to Edgy's influence...
Thus, the entire FPE fandom not only sold out freedom of speech for the "protecting children," but also paved the way for many countries to erect and strengthening entire mechanisms of total censorship for the sake of "protecting children," while also accustoming millions of teenagers to the idea that censorship, surveillance, and control over others' tastes are normal and "good" – and all thanks to Edgy!
Conclusion:
The story of the FPE fandom is a clear example of how internet fancops can take an entire fandom in hostage, turning it into a totalitarian prison after crises and a very rapid rise in popularity and even influence countries' decisions regarding strengthening censorship.
After Edgy's manipulation and the spread of speculation, this fandom has completely turned into an unsafe zone for r34, pro-shipping, and creative freedom in general, as most fans have lost the ability to distinguish fiction from reality and have literally traded creative freedom for "child protection" and "Katie and Edgy's boundaries," which has led to nothing good.
