The Girlfriend

By Dark Violet

Requested by Liger Horse: "What about a story with a Thrill of Almost Getting Caught theme to it?"

Details:

When you're the trainer to a beast with serrated bone-teeth, claws
that can rend flesh as easily as butter, and fire dancing in her
eyes... it requires a firm hand. A persistent attitude. A very clear,
mutual, unambiguous understanding.

But it's okay.

She knows who's in charge.

"Listen - it's okay to be a little nervous."

Joon-Woo gave a little laugh, a zephyr of defensiveness rising in his
chest. "I'm not nervous-"

"I didn't say you were," Kate said, smiling at him sidelong past a
wave of golden hair. "I just said it was okay to be."

"Well, I mean, it's just that... well-"

"So you are nervous?"

"I-" he started, and then faltered, and then resorted to a sheepish
grin.

Kate laughed, the sound bright and warming like a freshly-caught
spark. "I could tell, back at the restaurant. You looked like you were
about ready to faint half-way through the main course." She patted his
arm gently, her skin cool against his own, welcome in the warm evening
of the dusty peaks. A growl rose from his other side, and he pushed it
aside in his mind, like one would put aside some dirty plates.

Joon-Woo bit his lip, letting out another half-relieved chuckle.
"Alright. So I am." he said, scratching at his short, sandy hair. "But
it's, er... it's been a nice evening. Feel like I don't wanna start
saying the wrong thing by accident to bring it all crashing down."

Kate almost waltzed as she walked. "Joon, you've been nothing but
yourself, which is exactly what I was hoping for," she retorted,
giving him another glance. Her smiles fascinated him. No smugness
caught the corners of the eyes - it was like the smile of a mother,
full of genuine care.

They continued to stroll down Main Street. The day had been clear and
hot, as many were in the peaks, and heat still shimmered from the pale
grey tarmac. There were a handful of people out, now there was no more
direct sunlight, and small carts littered the sidewalks, their wares
of fruits and vegetables and oils called out by a dozen vendors, the
smells of olive and citrus mingling with the earthy sandiness that
drifted in from the Dunes.

The street itself wasn't long - perhaps half a mile in all, stretching
from one gate of the town to the other, with tall brick buildings
huddled against either side. Beyond the shadowed rooftops, the sun had
already set somewhere beyond the range to the west, casting the sky
with

dusty oranges and greys, with fire burning beyond the distant ridges
visible just outside the city limits ahead.

It was tough avoiding so many carts when he didn't want to take his
eyes off the swirling picture that tangoed next to him.

"If this was the first time we met, then sure." Kate continued,
sliding her hands into the pockets of her white dress, letting it
swish around her legs. It was hand-sewn, with small frills on the
seams and delicate eggshell-blue details around the pleated hem. Her
hair, too, was styled and shining, and there was even some rouge blush
on her cheeks. It was a far-cry from the green-suited, ponytailed
coordinator she was during the day. "But we've known each other
since... Arceus, when did I start at the Center? Year and a half ago,
more or less? It's not like I don't know you."Joon shrugged. "Yeah, I... guess you're right there. I don't know,
it's just... I've not really ever been on a date, so..."Kate shot him a questioning look. "What, really?" she slowed. "A guy
like you?"Another growl from Joon's left. He dropped his hand instinctively,
rough fur meeting his fingertips. "Well, okay, there was one time back
in high school. Girl I was into. Black hair, heavy eyeshadow, looked
like she wanted to be a Pangoro. She, er, asked me out too."
"Oh...?" Kate said, eyeing him, as if she knew what was coming.

"Took her to a movie. She... well, she started shouting at the screen.
When people complained, she threw popcorn at them."
"Oh no..." Kate said, though a mischievous smile touched her lips.
"How long did that last?"
Joon scratched his cheek. "Well, when she punched the security guard,
I decided that she probably wasn't right for me, so... forty-five
minutes?" His face was warm from the blush.

Kate laughed, glancing at her watch. "Well... at least we've beaten
that already." Joon smirked, and bit his lip as another growl
resonated up through his fingers. He took a breath, pushing it aside.

They came to an intersection, glanced both ways, but didn't break
their stride - there weren't many vehicles on this street, and the
dune buggies and trucks that usually thundered down them could be
heard a mile off.

"Anyway, the way I see it," Kate said, a little carefully - bashfully,
maybe? - "if anyone should be nervous, it's me."

Joon coughed a half-guffaw as they continued to weave through the
evening vendors, never straying away from each other's sides. "Wh-what
d'you mean...?"

Kate waved a hand. "I'm the trainer coordinator for the town, sure,
but you two? You're my best team. Always getting the job done, always
out for hours longer than you're scheduled. There's no area as safe
and free of wild 'mon as the one you're patrolling." She paused for a
moment. "And to be honest, it's not hard to see why. Poppy is..."

She trailed off, face scrunched up. She risked a glance down to her,
but didn't hold it.

Joon followed her look.

It would not be right to say that the houndoom was staring daggers at
Kate. Daggers are small, quick, stealthy, and easily outmatched in a
fair fight. Poppy stared full-length sabres, still hot from the fire
of the forge. It wasn't wholly metaphorical, either - flames licked
from her eyes, casting a red glare against the pale skull set into her
face. She hunched as she walked, tail straight out behind her lithe
body. Her raised shoulder blades stuck up almost as sharp as her
fangs, and the spine and ribcage pushed up through her dark fur like a
row of knives. She was stalking, muscles tense and undulating beneath
her thin fur, head low and nostrils flaring, like a particularly nasty
wild 'mon was nearby.

She looked up at Joon, and her eyes smouldered a warning, like the
gleam of a forest fire in a black night.

"Heh, she's... not so bad when you get to know her," Joon said,
feeling like he was trying to excuse a bad report. "She's my
firecracker."

"For someone so attached to you, I've barely seen her all evening. I
didn't take her for the kind of girl to hide beneath a restaurant
table." Kate was making her way around a small newsstand when she said
this, so she didn't see Joon's wince. "How'd you two meet, anyway?"

"Er, I, er, found her out on the Dunes. East - maybe sector two-six?
It was about two years ago. She was a houndour, though she already had
a full skull and half a ribcage even then. She was a bit standoffish,
introverted, but I didn't know how well a pup like her would last in
the desert, and I didn't see any pack nearby. I figured I'd add her
onto my team."

"Add her? I thought you only had her?"

"Once upon a time, I had more. But, over time..." he hesitated,
swallowing, "...I found out we worked best as a duo."

"Arceus, you certainly do. Never seen anyone like you two. And
speaking about that, listen, it's been bugging me for years, but - how
did a girl like her end up with the name Poppy?"Kate ventured. Her
smile was a little disbelieving now.

Joon gave a guilty laugh. "Wishful thinking when she was a houndour, I
guess. And well, she's... she's got a good heart on the inside."
"Are you saying that she's not as scary as she looks?"
Joon bit his lip. "Oh, no, she's sweet really, in her own way... right
girl?"
Fire danced from her lips as she glowered at Kate.

Kate laughed again. They turned down a side-street, and toward a small
four-storey tall townhouse. A series of shiny intercom buttons showed
flat numbers by the front door.

"Well, I hope to find that out for myself," she said, as they slowed.
Her fingers brushed his, and his body tingled like a warm breeze. He
hesitated in catching her hand in his - and then, the moment was gone.

Until she reached back, and grabbed his hand, and turned towards him.
Sincerity shone from her face.

"Hey, I don't want to be too forward. I get it, itinerant trainer,
independent life - I've headed up enough trainer teams to know what
kind of people the job attracts. But, I like order.

Certainty. I like to get all my duckletts in a row." She looked him
right in the eyes, long dark lashes batting. "Do you want to be a
thing? ...You and me?"
It was like a bubble of warmth had risen up inside him, swirling into
his head,
surrounding him until the chatter of passers-by back on main street
and the distant mountain winds and the wheeling of carts were all
dulled and muted. In that moment, there was nothing, just her - just,
vibrantly, wonderfully her. His fingers trembled in her grasp.

"Y-yeah," he said, feeling like he'd just confirmed the winning
numbers on a lottery ticket.

"Yeah, I would. So much. Yeah!"
Kate smiled, and laughed, and leaned in to give him a quick kiss on
the lips, and it was like his heart was buoyed on warm winds.

"Well then. I'll see you tomorrow... boyfriend."
Joon squeezed her hand one more time before he let go. "See you
then... girlfriend."

And with one more smile - full, complete, genuine - she slipped away.
She glanced around at him once more as the door closed.

Joon stood in the street for a few more moments, his heart hammering
in his ears. Holy shit. That had just happened, hadn't it?

The rising growl rumbled through the ground, like the warning signs of
an eruption. He chuckled, running his fingers along Poppy's neck fur.

"Okay, girl..." he said, as if spoken from a dream. "Okay..."

And so, they headed for his own place, just a few streets away, and he
steered clear of Poppy's lashing tail as he walked. In his reverie, he
fumbled with his keys, taking far longer than usual to open the door
to his flat. Poppy's grumbling snarl was so loud now that it resonated
in his bones.

The door hadn't even finished closing when she was on top of him.
Claws sank through his shirt, tail curled around one ankle. His belt
buckle, half-melted and held together with tape, was bitten away and
tossed aside. Joon was already at half-mast, and her hot breath made
him quickly struggle to attention, reviving him back to where she'd
left him in the restaurant, when her muzzle had been buried in his
pants right there under the table and-

He panted, trying to push himself up, but a paw landed on his chest
and forced him back down, lest those talons sink through muscle and
not just skin. Those flame-kissed eyes burned in the shadowed corridor
as pain blossomed and warm blood trickled down his side.

And there, with guttural grunts of exertion and her sinewy muscles
flexing in the firelight, she rode him like a broken toy.

=====

Okay. So... some things had to change with Poppy.

Now, he didn't have sex with her all that often. He wasn't even
attracted to her, of course- he was a human, she was a Pokémon, how
could he be? But to gain Poppy's obedience, he'd learned long ago
that, sometimes, he needed to offer unconventional rewards. Plus, a
girl like her had demands that needed to be satisfied; and while he'd
tried finding another houndoom for her, well... the sight of what she
did to the last one kept returning in the dark hours of the night. He
still couldn't quite stand the sight of raw steak.

So, on the infrequent times her need arose - he had to take care of it
himself. It was just how it was. Every trainer-Pokémon partnership had
their own little eccentricities, and this was part of theirs. Not that
there was a question of leadership - they both knew he was in charge.

And it probably wasn't all that uncommon with trainers, right? And
anyway, it only happened every now and again.

But now there was Kate.

Kate! She'd been the coordinator for all the trainers here for years.
It was a demanding job - especially in an inhospitable place like the
Dunes. Trainers were needed to manage the wild Pokémon outside the
city limits, and here, that meant flygon and hippowdon and sandstone
onix. Any town that didn't zealously guard their borders tended to be
reclaimed by nature, and when nature had talons and fire and the power
to uproot the very rock itself, that gave a very final meaning to
the word.

So trainers kept the wilds at bay, and Kate was the one in charge of
them all. And now they were dating! The feeling was like being at
the top of a rollercoaster, only instead of one track there were
dozens, hundreds - so many delights waiting he couldn't even
imagine...

...But then there was Poppy.

Oh, Poppy. They hadn't spent a day apart since he first picked her
up - she made sure of that, even though it had meant burning a hole
through some doors at the Pokécenter, or scaring off his family's
dachsbun when he went home to visit. There wasn't a morning waking up
when he didn't see those burning eyes staring at him from beside his
bed, or hanging above him...

Could Kate understand the relationship they had? She'd coordinated
many trainers, even if she didn't have a partner Pokémon herself. And
yet, Joon felt a strange resistance at the idea of admitting that
they'd had sex. Even though it wasn't a big deal, and it didn't happen
that often. Even if their partnership was based on trust, and
understanding, and caring for each other's needs, and it was all
mutual, of course...

But if Kate was going to be in his life - and Arceus, was Joon so
excited that she could be - then things had to change between him
and the houndoom. No more acting out, no more of her little dominance
plays that he liked to let her have. And as for the sex, well - he
couldn't continue that behind Kate's back. He didn't want to cheat on
his girlfriend - argh, was it cheating, if it was with a Pokémon? He
felt like he should say no, but part of him was stuck on that. As if
the answer was yes, in some other reality, in some other conception...

...Alright. Time to lay down the law. New situation, new rules. No
more wounds - he'd chastise her if she ever broke skin. And a tight
restriction on how often they had sex - he'd only allow her once a
day, at most.

Yeah. They could work this out.

====

It was a week later now - and oh, how different a week could be, even
if nothing had really changed. He still went into work, and Kate was
still the coordinator for the teams handing out briefings and bouncing
around in a dune buggy conducting wellness checks - even if their
snuck smiles made his heart flutter for hours afterwards. They hadn't
even been on another date yet - Kate was true to her word of letting
him take it slow. Plus, Poppy had been demanding that they patrol late
into the evenings, when Kate was out of the Pokémon Center, so there
wasn't really any chance for dinner together.

But Joon wasn't willing to let the relationship lie fallow, and
apparently, neither was Kate. Half way through the week she suggested
something small - coming over for the evening, after dinner, just for
a couple of fingers of good bourbon and a chat on the couch, maybe
watch some show together.

Which sounded nice enough, until the texts Kate sent showed that she
was expecting a little more.

Joon's heart caught in his throat when he finally worked it out. Oh.
Oh.

Oh... hell yes.

He spent the day preparing. He tried to corral Poppy in while they
were out on the Dunes, so they didn't patrol so far. In the end, they
were only out for five hours. Even if most teams had their shifts end
after three, he was used to the longer treks - though, with her
demeanour, perhaps hunts was a better term.

They got in that evening, and he stamped the worst of the sand from
his boots, cleaned out his canteens, and shoved his stillsuit into the
washer. He tidied the worst of the shredded toys from the floor,
finally re-hung the pictures of his old team that Poppy had knocked
down a few weeks back, gave her an extra-large portion of fresh prime
chow as a peace offering, and went for a lengthy shower, trying to
calm his trembling, excited nerves. He bristled as the water hit the
fresh slashes along his chest - her wake-up call this morning had not
been a gentle one.

Neither had been last night's after-dinner snack, he remembered as the
water cascaded over his aching thighs. But at least when she'd jumped
him out on the Dunes earlier, she'd been too distracted to inflict
anything more than surface-level - so the cuts around his waist didn't
hurt as much.

Still, he soaped and washed as much as he could. Half way through,
Poppy had shouldered her way in - she didn't like any locked doors in
the house - and sat to attention on the tiles, watching him closely.
He eventually towelled off, and then spent fifteen minutes in front of
a mirror stitching a particularly bad slash across his right breast
with a specially-bought paramedic kit and a healthy squirt of numbing
cream. He shaved, added a small dollop of gel to his hair, and even
found an old bottle of aftershave in the depths of the cabinet (Poppy
didn't like it). At the end of it, he grabbed some fresh jeans,
covered his most recent wounds with a

dark green T-shirt, and inspected the look. Was it good enough? It was
him. She said she liked that, right?

He kept looking. His mind was racing.

Holy shit.

Was he actually gonna... tonight? Finally?

It wasn't just he hadn't dated - he'd never even had sex before.
Well, not with anyone other than Poppy - it wasn't quite the same if
it was with a houndoom, right? Either way - he'd not had sex with
another human. Okay, true, that girl he'd told Kate about - Jennifer -
had been... an experience. He'd neglected to tell Kate that the date
had ended there, but he still went back to hers afterwards. It hadn't
gone further than kissing and a bit of grinding before she finished
and kicked him to the other side of the bed without even a smile. He
felt like he should feel ashamed about that, but the memory of her
straddling him in that poster-lined bedroom, black lace dress with
nothing underneath, clung in his mind.

And tonight...A muffled knock through the walls resounded in his heart. He looked
around - Poppy had disappeared at some point. He bit his lip, brushed
down his T-shirt, and raced to the front door.

He pulled it open, revealing Kate, panting and fixing him with a
relieved smile. She was wearing her tan coordinator getup, crusted
with sand and streaked with patches of sweat. A swollen backpack with
straps covered in pouches hung from one shoulder. She brandished an
unopened bottle of bourbon whisky, amber in the corridor's lights,
like a prize fighter might hold a trophy.

"Hey, boyfriend," she breathed between gulps of breath.

"H-hey-"
"So sorry about this. There was a particularly nasty camerupt herd up
north in sector one-three, about five miles out and heading towards
the city. Had to back up Dave and Ezekiel, help them put on a bit of a
show to keep 'em back." She leaned against the doorframe. A bead of
sweat was rolling down her forehead. "Only got back about ten minutes
ago. Basically ran from the buggy, to my place, to here."
Joon reached out a hand. "Hey, it's okay. Do you wanna, er, freshen up
in my
bathroom?"
Kate smiled with the relief of a parched woman seeing a glass of
water. "Shower?"

"Mi casa, el, er, etcétera?"
She let out a half-giggle. "That would be divine. Thank you so
much."
He held the door open as she staggered inside, the aroma of dry stone
and stale sweat leaping off her as she passed. She took a moment to
wipe off clods of sandy dirt on his front mat, and then left her boots
by the door. She turned and stopped still. "Oh-"
Joon closed the door and turned. Poppy was standing in the gloom of
the corridor opposite the doorway, fires smouldering through the eye
sockets of the skull. She was stock still, claws unsheathed. She
stared Kate down with burning crimson eyes.

He sighed. "C'mon, Poppy-"
"No no, it's okay..." Kate said, slowly crouching to the floor a few
paces from her, resting the bourbon on the ground. "Hello Poppy. Thank
you for allowing me into your home."
Poppy didn't move. Her tail was held straight out behind her, head
lowered, like she was sizing up a stubborn hippowdon, sighting where
to bite.

Without taking her eyes off the houndoom, Kate slipped her bulging
backpack to the ground. She unzipped it, and slid something orange and
small out of it. "Here. Joon mentioned you liked toys. I got this for
you."
It was a plush trapinch, its large, coarsely woven head drooping as
she held it out towards her.

Poppy stared at it. Then, slowly, she stalked closer - first one paw,
then another, lips parting as she stretched towards Kate. For a brief
second, Joon's heart fluttered, seeing what could have been a flame
lick between her fangs - but Poppy merely closed her mouth gently
around the neck of the toy, and stepped backwards.

Kate rested her arms on one knee, rocking back onto her ankles.
"There. First of many, if all goes well."
Poppy stared at her for a moment longer. Then, tail twitching, she
turned away and stalked off into the lounge, claws tugging at carpet
threads with sharp snaps.

Kate stood up, and smiled back at Joon, looking like a flower opening
up in the sunlight.

Poppy had actually let her into the flat. Oh. This might... this might
actually work, mightn't it? She'd chased off many visitors over the
years. Hell, especially that houndoom. The amount of scrubbing, and
the walls had the faint shadow of-

Kate was looking at him expectantly.

"M-Mm?" he said, brain stammering back to the present.

"Shower?" she repeated.

He showed her to the bathroom, and she gave him one last grateful look
as she closed the door. "Shouldn't be more than fifteen. Don't start
the bourbon without me, now."

Joon raised a hand, thinking about telling her about Poppy's
no-locked-doors policy - but stopped himself. No - laying down the
law, remember? He slipped back into the small lounge, making his way
around to the couch. Poppy was sitting on her haunches in her
scratched low-backed armchair, inspecting the trapinch. She looked up
as he passed by. He flopped down, and then looked over to find her
staring at him, nose twitching.

"...Yes, girl?" he said, biting the inside of his lip. "Liking the
toy?"
She got up, the trapinch plush dropping to the floor. She stepped
across to the couch, sniffing again - he leaned back, but she kept
walking until the fire of her eyes burned warm against his face and
her cold nose brushed along his cheek, nostrils flaring. Joon held up
a hand. "Hey, now-"
She growled, cutting him off. Oh... right. The aftershave.

"Hey, listen, Poppy. We have company tonight, so remember what I said.
Best behaviour.

Alright?"
She stared at him.

He waved a finger. "No acting up. She's been very nice, and I'll
give you a treat when she leaves too, okay?"
Sparks crackled from beneath the skull.

"Hey, Joon?"
Kate's muffled voice carried from around the corner. One of Poppy's
ears twitched towards it.

"Yeah...?" Joon said, eyes flitting away from Poppy briefly.

"How do you work the temperature?"

"Oh, er..." Joon leaned back from Poppy's gaze. "There's a knob on the
right! Tilt it away from you for hot, towards you for cold. It's a
little sensitive!"
The dull hiss of water rumbled from the door, followed by the
tell-tale splash of a hand testing it. "Got it, thanks! Shouldn't be
long!"

Joon flicked his eyes back towards Poppy. "Okay...?"
She looked towards the source of the sound. Then she looked at Joon.
Then she looked down at his crotch...
Poppy growled.

Poppy's growls showed teeth, and from close up, that meant off-white
fangs that gleamed like polished bone, with little serrations along
their cutting side. Saliva dripped from black lips.

He waved his finger again. "Now, Poppy, remember-"
Her head was at the hem of his pants before he could stop her. Teeth
latched into fabric and pulled, yanking open the buttons of his fly
with complaining pops. Warm breath rolled over his underwear.

"Poppy, no-!" hissed Joon, eyes flicking to the bathroom, heart
leaping into his throat.

"Bad girl, not now-!"
But her muzzle had dexterously pulled the boxers aside and teased out
his half-swollen member. She lapped it, her rough canine tongue urging
it into further life, and he gasped as pleasure shot up his spine like
a line of gunpowder.

"Poppyyy!" he hissed, a hand hovering above one of her horns. "Not
right now! You've had treats today!"
A throaty growl - mixed with a low moan - rolled from her throat and
across his shaft. He gasped, flexing his fingers. The hiss of the
muffled shower resounded in his mind.

"Poppy... bad girl. I'm not going to ask again-"

She planted one hind paw on his chest, and everything went black as
she sat her rear against his face. His lips met hot, wrinkled flesh.

The next breath he took was heavy, laden with the spice of canine
musk. Poppy's heats were erratic, spiking rather than coming in
predictable patterns, and he could tell she was in one from the scent
alone - the familiar tang of iron and wet stone surrounded her spade
and filled his

nostrils and his mind. He felt like the town - huddled behind a thin
wall, with wild Pokémon swarming over it...
He dug his fingers into her rear, trying to lever her away-
Which was when her mouth enveloped his length, making him jerk. His
shaft jumped in her muzzle, dancing against her tongue, which only
sent more pleasure coursing through him.

He moaned - he couldn't help it - and the tip of her spade ground past
his lips, dripping the familiar, delightful taste across the tip of
his tongue.

He swallowed, her juices trickling down his throat. He screwed his
eyes shut, gripped again, and pushed - but claws dug into his T-shirt,
catching old scars, and she rested the whole weight of her back half
against his face.

Fuck. Fuck fuuuuck. Not now! Fuck, if Kate saw them- If she knew-
He strained to listen past the growls that enveloped his head. The
sound of the shower, muted, difficult to make out, was staccato with
the movement of someone beneath the water.

O-okay, so he wasn't in danger just yet-
But that wasn't the point! He pulled his face back just enough so that
the spade merely ground against his nose, her rear resting against his
sweat-heavy forehead. If she had her way with him right now, even
aside from all that, how could he possibly perform with Kate? Not to
mention she'd probably notice the saliva on his shaft, smell Poppy on
him-
Fuck! He bit his lip, shuddering as the tongue continued its eager
work. "Not... now...girl!" he pleaded, hoping his muffled whisper
carried only to Poppy's ears. "Please... I need this!"
She growled again - not the low, scratchy growl of warning, but a
deep, throaty growl of delight as she leaned back and trailed her
tongue up his length. For a moment she let the head rest in a pool of
warm saliva, before she closed her lips around it again. Teeth teased
his length, but this was one part of the body she hadn't yet inflicted
scars on.

Yet...
His grip faltered.

"Come on girl... please..." he muttered - then, in a fit of fawning
diplomacy, pressed forward to lick at her spade. The warm flesh
parted - it was only wrinkled on the outside, and past the thick outer
walls were smooth, hot insides with the vague taste of iron and slick
with her juices.

Poppy groaned, the sound vibrating down her body, and her tail flexed
above him. He licked again, and again, delving his tongue inside the
dog's spade. He lapped over the hole within, then down to taste at the
small hood just above the spade's point, massaging the clit within.

For a moment, Poppy was distracted, relinquishing her tongue's grip on
his shaft. She reared back her head, groaning into the warm air of the
room. Joon's heart hammered in his ears - okay, good. Just keep her
like this, and-

And then she was back at his shaft, one paw curling around his
still-covered balls, her lips pressed against the head. Gods - would
human lips feel this good? Soft, squishing, coating his length with
healthy drop after drop of drool. He shuddered, fingers tightening on
her rear, as his loins tingled and pressure mounted. He had the urge
to grab the back of her head, just behind her skull - to thrust up
into her muzzle, coming to him like so much muscle memory. Fuck- come
on, girl... please...

The sound of the shower ended abruptly, leaving just growling and
licking. Muffled thumps of someone climbing out of a bathtub resounded
from somewhere beyond Poppy's rear.

Joon's heart hammered, anxiety spiking in his chest. He pushed again.
"Please... Poppy, I order- ...beg you, please..."

Lick, lick, lick... The snarl sounded triumphant now, vibrating her
tongue around his length. He bucked his hips involuntarily, and her
paw gripped his balls, claws just teasing through his boxers.

"Poppy...!" he muttered, pressing his lips to the spade, sucking on
the tip, massaging and indulging that buried clit. She arched her back
and writhed, but her tongue merely wrapped around his length, keeping
it in place as she breathed warm, wet breath along it, bringing him
higher and higher and-

Another thump from the bathroom. "You ready...?"

Poppy pulled her head off his shaft. Joon held her tightly, her body
shifting as she turned to look towards the bathroom.

His heart hammered in his ears. His shaft twitched, resting at full
attention against her paw, slick and wanting. He panted, drawing in
little but the scent and taste of her nethers.

And then she stepped off him with a satisfied huff. Joon swallowed a
gulp of air, spread-eagled, on the couch. His face suddenly felt cold.

The sound of the bathroom door opening shook him to attention, and he
shoved his shaft awkwardly into his jeans, fastened just the top
button, and sat up on the couch just as Kate walked around the corner.

Kate was wearing a black dress now, like something right off an old
doll. It was another homemade work, by the look of it; the shoulders
bulged with padding, and the arms and hem were bursting with white
lace. Her blonde hair was dry, and cascaded down the side of her face.

She smiled warmly at him, clasping her hands together in front of her.
"What do you think?" Joon tried to stifle the panting. He bought time
by making a show of looking her up and down. To the other side of him,
Poppy was still settling down into her armchair, turning around twice
before flopping onto the worn cushion and staring back at him.

"It looks... wonderful!" he said, eventually. "How long, er, did the
shoulders take...?" "Oh, don't worry about that," she muttered,
stepping towards him with bare feet. "It's all worth it for a reaction
like that..."
Kate slipped down onto the couch next to him, and fished the bourbon
from the table he'd left it on. Joon glanced over at Poppy - she was
eyeing the rug in front of her chair. She found the Trapinch toy, and
plucked it from the floor with a single lunge, without even needing to
get up.

Kate handed a glass to him with a generous measure of amber liquid in
it. She held up hers.

"To the boy in my life," she said with a sly smile.

Joon forced a smile as he lifted his own. "To the... girl in mine."
He could feel the burning gaze against the back of his head as they
clinked glasses.

He gulped half the glass down - keeping his gaze averted from the
demon dog to his left- only to have Kate lean in, spreading herself
over him like a weighted blanket. Her nose almost brushed against his.
Oh fu-
And then they were kissing, and Joon kept his lips closed until Kate's
questing tongue forced its way past them. But as her tongue brushed
his, he tasted only Poppy's juices, sending an electric shock through
him, and he couldn't stop from jerking his head back in fear.

Kate broke the kiss. Shit. Shit...! He pushed forwards, but she'd
already moved back to look at him.

"You okay?" she asked, her forehead creasing.

"Y-yeah, just... a little nervous is all..." he stammered, putting a
hand on her side.

"Joon, you look like you've just been attacked." She gave an awkward
chuckle. "I'm...still moving a bit too fast, aren't I?"
"No! No, no, I want this, it's okay-"
"Well, if you're sure..." she said, though a concerned smile pushed in
dimples on her cheeks. She slipped closer, one hand on his belly as
she kissed him - without tongue, this time -on the side of his mouth.
He leaned in, enjoying the warmth against his sweat-coated skin. Her
scent was floral from some kind of perfume - so different from the
houndoom. Her fingers delved lower, towards his crotch - towards the
bulge of his half-swollen shaft, still covered in Poppy's drool, the
shaft that had been inside his dog just seconds ago and-
He jerked as her fingers touched the hem of his jeans. Kate drew back
again, and Joon bit his lip. "Kate, I-"
"Joon... Joon, hey, now, listen," she breathed, and put a hand on his
chest. "Listen... I want this, and I believe you do too, but... you're
still anxious, aren't you?"
Joon breathed through his nose. The calm smile held his attention like
nothing else.

"Y-yeah... just, anxious. Maybe, heh, scared..."
She smirked. "Scary ol' me?"
He opened his mouth, shut it, smiled. "Yeah..."
Kate sat back, half-kneeling on the couch. She stared at a point above
his head for a moment.

"Hm... what about..."
Joon's heart hammered in his ears. Damn that dog. He could save this.
"I... I think-" "I've got an idea," she said, and in that moment years
of social muscle memory reared their head.

"Yes?" Joon said, focusing on her.

Kate slipped her legs to the floor. "I'm gonna head back to my place.
But... keep your phone on you. Okay?"
Joon nodded, though icy cold blood ran through his veins. "Er... yeah.
Yeah, sure."

So Kate set about leaving, and Joon, heart still hammering, shaft
aching in his pants, watched her leave - while Poppy sat on her chair,
slowly tearing the head off the trapinch plush.

====

Joon tidied the glasses into his small closet of a kitchen. Cool water
played across his fingers, and he glowered at nothing as he rubbed a
cloth around the rim.

Poppy had gone too far this time. Okay... okay, so she could act out a
little, yeah. So she was a bit of a wildfire at times. More firework
than firecracker. But now she had gone from a problem he could deal
with to this, and that was across the damn line.

He shoved the glasses into the drying rack with perhaps too much
force, and dried his hands on a towel. And what's worse, his shaft was
still straining against his jeans, and he squeezed his fingers and set
his jaw to shove down the inner need for release. Damn...

He needed to teach her her place. He was her trainer, for Arceus'
sake. She was the Pokémon. He was the alpha of the pack, and he knew
it, and he just needed to remind her of that. Needed to let her know
who was in charge...

He was still fuming when he heard the tinny melody of a phone call.
Shit. Had it been that long already? He dropped the towel,
clambering out of the tiny cubby kitchen and into the lounge. Shit,
where had he left the phone...

It wasn't on the table, nor the arm of the chair. Hell, the sound
wasn't even coming from this room. And - hang on, where was Poppy...?

He stepped over the beheaded and disembowelled carcass of the trapinch
plush and rounded the corner into his dark bedroom.

It was a small room, like the rest of the apartment - a single bed
shoved in one corner, squeezed beneath a small window looking out
across the Dunes, curtains drawn tight. But it felt smaller still with
the rest of the room, which might well have supported a king-sized bed
and a side table or two, filled up by a large, deep dog bed. It had
once been a premium make, stuffed with Swanna feathers and covered in
heat-treated Mareep wool, but years of Poppy had left it scarred and
patched and with flurries of feathers leaking from holes, which she
had snarled at him for attempting to clean up.

Poppy lounged on top of it, burnt sienna underbelly upwards, leaning
back against the wall. She stared up at him - actually, less up and
more across, with how big she was and how thick the dog bed was. Her
skull almost glowed - lit from above by the fire that leapt through
her skull's eye sockets, its violet tinge casting multi-hued
highlights across the bone, and lit from

below by the pale green-white light of the phone, held firmly in her
jaws, fangs pressed against the delicate surface. She fixed him with a
knowing, impatient look.

Her spread-eagled hind legs twitched in the low light, paws flexing,
claws gleaming in the residual light from the lounge. Her spade, wet
juices and his own saliva glistening on its dark surface, sat
invitingly in the dark folds and crevices of her nethers, turned up
towards him.

The phone's screen - the little he could see past her lips - showed an
incoming call from Kate. Rhythmic vibrations made grinding noises like
snarls against her teeth.

Joon took a deep breath, heart hammering once again. "Poppy... give it
here."Poppy didn't move - only her eyes twitched, narrowing. She
didn't even growl.

Joon tightened his grip on the doorframe. "Poppy... drop it."
KrrkCracks spider-webbed across the front of the phone. One of her skull's
fangs - as sharp as her own teeth - sank a quarter of an inch into the
phone.

Joon's mouth dropped open. "Poppy! Poppy, you... bad! Bad!"She
didn't move, other than to tilt her head upwards. The call died.

Joon's heat went to his throat. Oh, fuck. Oh-
And then the screen flickered to life with another call, Kate's face
refracted in the broken glass.

Joon took a long breath. Fuck, fuck... He kneeled down, reaching out a
hand. "Give it-" Poppy growled. But this wasn't a low warning growl,
or a loud intimidating snarl - this was the gentle breath of
confidence, like she made while she held down a small whismur.

"Poppy..." Joon breathed. "I need... to have that... please. Just-"
Kr-kThe other fang sank into the phone. More cracks skittered across the
surface. Joon gritted his teeth, despair rising.

"Poppy!" he stammered, holding her gaze. "Poppy, I... please, I..."

She flexed her hind paws, twitching her legs. His eyes were drawn to
her spade, now at waist height, dark and wet and waiting.

...Fuck.

Fuck, he couldn't keep Kate waiting. Not after this night. Not now!
He leaned back, unbuttoning his jeans. "Okay... okay. Okay, you win!
I'll do it!" His shaft, bulging, flopped from his boxers. It felt
sticky from Poppy's drool.

Damn it, as if he could give her what he needed in time. He paused,
his shaft close enough that the warmth of Poppy's spade swirled around
it. Alright, alright - compromise, perhaps? He reached towards the
phone with tentative fingers. Poppy's eyes widened, fires spitting,
but he held up his other hand. "I'm not taking it... you can have it.
I just need to..." She watched every move as he edged forwards with a
single finger, and slid it across the'Receive Call' button.

"Joon... caught you doing something?"
Kate's voice was half-muffled, rising from somewhere back in Poppy's
maw. Joon tried to be heard over the sound of his own heartbeat.

"I was just washing up, but... I'm here now." He paused, shakily.
"...I-"
"Oh, and where are you now?"
"...In my bedroom."
"Good."
Joon breathed deeply. There was a huskiness to her voice, a slyness
that he'd been hearing in her texts over the week.

"Tell me, is Poppy there...?"
He looked into the eyes of the houndoom. Her tail twitched, the
scythe-like bone making a silent scrape along the surface of the dog
bed.

Joon swallowed, feeling himself making the choice with a reluctant
taste in his mouth.

"...No," he said, "She's... in the lounge."
"Good. So it's just you and me..."
A tinny sigh slipped over the phone call. Oh. Joon gulped.

"So... er..." Joon said, forcing himself to speak in the silence. One
hand drifted to his shaft. "What... were you going to do in the
lounge?"
"A kiss... a caress. See what was beneath that cute T-shirt. And,
then, let my fingers drift to what I saw hiding in those pants of
yours..."

Joon's heart hammered as he stared into Poppy's eyes. He blinked,
finding his fingers gently stroking the head of his cock. "A-ah...
you, er, saw it-?"
"Joon, a bulge like that... I know you're looking forward to it..."
He ran his fingers up and down his shaft, rubbing the skin, sending
small ripples of pressure across his loins. Pre beaded from the head,
just above the spade...
"So what would you do then...?"
Joon let out an awkward chuckle, looking up at Poppy's face. "W-what
do you mean?

Feels like you're in charge here..."
"Heh. Maybe I am, if that's what you like..." Kate said, "But let's
say I've pulled open that one straining button, and I've finally seen
what's inside. Come on, boy. What're you going to do?"

Poppy lowered her gaze. Her jaw flexed - teeth pressed against the
screen. Her tail lashed once, cutting into the bed.

Joon swallowed. He rubbed a hand along Poppy's thigh, hoping it would
calm her. "I'd...slip my hand between your legs. Feel your warmth,
trace them closer... closer to your crotch..." "Mmm. Gentle
touch..."

"Not shying away..." he said, looking down at his fingers, sliding
through her fur. The heat drifting off the spade played around his
fingers as they neared.

"Good boy. So I'm writhing beneath your tender touches..."
"Moving closer... sliding your legs apart..." Joon muttered, holding
her thigh now, fingers sinking into her fur.

"Oh, even better. Going to hitch up my dress around my-?"Joon shook his head. "You're not wearing a dress anymore. You're lying
before me, on your back, and you're beautiful..."

A momentary pause. Joon snapped back to reality, staring down at
Poppy, who seemed to be half-smiling as she stared up at him.
W-wait... no, he was with Kate-
"Oh, Joon..." came Kate's voice, and Poppy tilted her head, fixing
him with an expectant look. "I like that."
The scythe of a tail dug into the bed again, threatening to loudly rip
through it.

Joon swallowed, rubbing the head of his shaft. Fuck, he was going to
have to, wasn't he...?

"I'm... lining up..."
"Mm-hmm..."
He pressed the head of the shaft to the spade, and warmth made his
cock jump in his hand. He gasped, eyes drifting closed - he tried to
picture more human lips folding around it, but every time her got
close, his eyelids fluttered open to see those black lips settling
around the tip of his shaft.

"Ha-ahh... you're warm..."
"Don't you want more?"
He breathed, looking up at Poppy again, praying silently she wouldn't
growl when he did this. "O-of course!"
Was he actually doing this? ...Could he handle not doing it?

"Stop teasing then, and slip it in."
He pressed his hips forwards, sliding the head of his shaft past the
dark outer lips, meeting the slick, wet insides. His legs shuddered,
and he couldn't stop from letting out a moan of delight, sparks flying
through his eyes. Poppy moaned too - it took him a moment to realise,
and look down, only to see her expression had barely changed - her
eyes were narrowed, slightly unfocused, but she still watched him,
tilting her head up. Had it been her moaning, or Kate?

Fuck. Fuck, he was inside Poppy, on call with his girlfriend.
"Arceus..." he muttered.

"...fuck-"
And yet, it felt so-

"Wonderful, right Joon?"
"Yes...!" Joon panted, the hand on his cock slipping back to hold it
in place as he eased another couple of inches in. The passage inside
tilted down and away from him as usual, and he lifted his body up to
keep the best angle. "Yes... yes it does..."
"Then slowly now, hon. Ease in-"
"No-" Joon said, the words falling out before he could think, "No,
it's too good to go slow."He slipped his other hand to Poppy's waist.

"Oh..." she said, Poppy tilting her head as he slid deeper inside
with a grunt. "Oh, I see, very good boy, hm?"
Joon panted, eyes half-closed. "Let me... hold you by the waist...
tightly..." he
stammered, his thumbs teasing her teats. "Keep you in place..."
"Don't worry... I'm still in control..." the voice purred. "Now
don't you dare let up..."
"H-how could I..." he murmured, the last of
his resolve breaking, slapping his hips against hers. The spade
smushed up against his crotch, only to draw back to leave a shining
sheen across his shaft.

"That's right... ohhh, maybe I'll curl my legs around you-"
"Yes!" he gasped, pressing Poppy's hinds back around his back before
he even realised what he was doing, not holding back from thrusting
down into her. "Yes... just like that...!" "Oh, you are eager,
aren't you? ...Aaahh...!"

He looked down into Poppy's eyes. The dog bounced as he thrust, and
her eyes finally left him, rolling back in her head, fires sputtering
with his wild humps. Her head lolled back, horns scraping against the
torn wallpaper.

"Oh, Arceus, yes, keep going..."
Joon leaned back, gripping Poppy tighter as he thrust into her over
and over again. Her teats jiggled with every pump, her forepaws waving
as they hung in the air over her chest. Sparks danced from her eyes
and burned themselves out on his arms.

His world spun with that fire. Orange and gleaming white, surrounding
him, holding him close. He took in great gulps of breath, his fingers
tightening around her waist. Something was holding him, pulling him
deeper, making him lose the world around and focus solely on her. He

didn't want to do anything else. He dragged her back against his
hips with every thrust, as he lost the world in the need to press his
shaft ever deeper inside her, to feel the pull her spade... "Oh,
Arceus, the way you're gripping my shaft..." he muttered, watching how
her spade tugged, pulled backwards every time he slid back, only to be
squished back up against her with the next thrust.

"Why would I want to let it go...?"
He stared up at Poppy's face.

"Why would I ever let you go...?"
Her head lounged to one side, and she was fixing him with a single
black pupil beneath a blazing fire.

"You're mine, Joon..."
He nodded, staring at her. "Yes..."
Poppy rolled her head around to glower at him again from beneath the
firelit brow of her skull. "So fuck me. Harder. HARDER."
Joon slammed his hips into her. He pulled up her waist in his hands to
get a better angle, holding her hips in his grasp. "Yes!" he gasped
between moans.

"Thaaat's a good BOY!" she gasped, tongue lolling from her black
lips, fire danced between her teeth.

"Yes...!" Joon muttered, fingernails digging into her fur. "Arceus, so
hot, so tight... I'm going to rub your teats, kiss your neck, let you
ride me-"
"SUCH a good boy..." she praised, eyes rolling back in her head
before she recovered and fixed him with another fierce glare, tilting
her hips to better press back up into him. "MY good boy..."
He dragged her back along the dog bed, holding her tighter as he
curled over her, jerking and bouncing both their bodies as they
thrusted against each other over and over and over, galavanting
through the fires of pleasure and delight. His head swam, his vision
span like a top, his fingers dug into warm, welcoming fur and muscle.
Oh... fuck...!

"I'm..." Joon stammered, loins buzzing, head swimming, "I'm gonna-"

"You're not going to DARE pull out!" she gasped, needily,
forcefully, a grunt rising up from between her fangs. "Inside! GOOD
boy!"

Joon gasped, cried out, screwing his eyes shut, but those twin flames
burned fires even so. He hunched over Poppy, burying his shaft into
her spade until the warmth of those folds pressed roughly, finally,
inseparably against his crotch, and those slick, ridged walls
surrounded his whole length, and the pleasure had swirled and mounted
and now blossomed out into- "Ahhhh!"
"Ahhhh!"
RrrRRRRrrrrr!

Joon collapsed over Poppy, head pressing against her skull, arms
shaking and twitching.

The hot stab of fire against his hair took several seconds to find its
way through his haze of orgasm, and when it did, it was all he could
do to roll his head to one side to get away.

Fire-licked bone teeth flickered in his vision.

"Joon... goodness..."
Joon blinked, fingers flexing as he eased his grip on Poppy's waist.
He glanced up at Poppy's face. "Y... yeah...?"
"Hah... guessing you like that, huh?"
Joon tilted his head. "O... of course..."
"All the bossing around stuff? The praise?" She laughed.

Joon blinked again, and eased himself up. Poppy was still holding his
phone in her teeth, the spiderweb cracks glinting in the firelight.

She... she had been holding it the entire time... right? "Oh- ...oh.
Um..."
"Hey... that's fine by me. It's nice to take control."
Poppy's eyelids drooped, and though she was looking up at him, it was
hardly as insistent as it had been before. He could swear there was a
self-satisfied smirk to her skull.

Slowly, she opened her jaws. The phone hung there for a moment,
impaled on her fangs, before it began to jerkily slide off - Joon
fumbled as he tried to catch it, and picked it up from Poppy's
underbelly with shaking fingers. The screen was pebbledashed with
little shards of glass, and two ugly black and green streaks of dead
pixels obscured Kate's icon.

"That was somethin', right?"
Joon stared back at Poppy. "...it... I've never felt anything like...
that."
"Did you enjoy it?"
Joon swallowed. "I'm not sure I'm allowed to say anything else."
"...Weird answer."
Joon gave an awkward cough, clutching the phone tighter to his ear.
"Er. I mean. Y-yes.

Yes! I... Arceus, I enjoyed it."
"Heheh... alright, hon. Listen, I think you probably need some time
to decompress after that, right?"

Joon nodded shakily. "Yeah, that... that would be good..."
"By the way. That was some weird static during orgasm... you okay
over there? Didn't drop your phone, did you?"

"No, no... thanks. I'll... I'll see you on Sunday, okay?"
"That's a good boy," Kate said, even if the words sounded a little
hollow coming from her.

"See you then, trainer."
"Bye..." Joon muttered, and then let the call drop, staring down at
the dog in front of him.

All the while, Poppy stared back, fires licking a satisfied gold
across her skull, pink tongue lolling from her muzzle, while she lay
back against the bed, her spade still clinging possessively to his
shaft.

And Joon was left to pant, and stare, and listen to her satisfied
pants and the pounding of his heartbeat, as the weight of the evening
settled in around him like the ash of a volcanic eruption.

...Fuck.

The End

====

And Joon was left to pant, and stare, and listen to her satisfied
pants and the pounding of his heartbeat, as his mind played back what
just happened, trying to reconcile a memory of something that couldn't
possibly have happened.

A memory that for a moment there, there was no phone, no Kate; just
him, and Poppy, and her goading words in his mind.
