Long Forgotten
Born to a tan-skinned former royal concubine who deposed from the palace after losing the king’s favor, the man grew up unaware that he carried the blood of a prince. His mother raised him alone on the outskirts of a quiet medieval village, teaching him the values of humility and hard work while humbly building new life for his early years. With black hair, dark eyes, and a quiet strength beyond his age, he grew into a dedicated farmer respected for his steady hands and gentle nature.
As an adult, he built a simple but joyful life with his beloved wife, who was expecting their first child. He cherished the small moments of peace in the fields, believing that his destiny was no more than to cultivate the land and create a family of his own. Despite the hardships of rural life, he remained grateful and faithful to the Lord, unaware that a storms slowly impend from afar.
It all started with envy, the villagers' displeasure at his better crops, more fertile soil, and warmer home. The villagers, who hated him, burned his house down, leaving him with almost nothing left. Just as he was about to get back on his feet and excited for his first child, the worst thing in his life happened.
That quiet life shattered one night when the villager raided-struck his home. He fought desperately to protect his home and family, but the attackers showed no mercy. His wife and unborn child were lost, and he himself was left beaten and near death before being cast from a cliff’s edge. His body was never recovered by the villagers, leaving only whispers— a festive laughter from them, unbeknownst to all, the blood of a forgotten prince had ended in tragedy far from the throne that should have been his.
He was a faithful devotee of god. He believed all the bad and all the good in life had its meaning. He believed every obstacle in life had a purpose, and he never questioned the lord's wisdom. But at the end of his life, he wondered. The exiled prince questioned those wisdom again. What was wrong, and what was lacking? The injustice in his life was too piercing. He was fine with his one self, however his family? His child who hadn't even seen the world? With his last breath, with his last heartbeat, he cursed. His hatred and revenge boiled over until his last breath.
His anger built up and wouldn't dissipate. Indeed, the body rotted, unburied, eaten by carnivore, parasites, and left shreds embedded in the rolling snowstorm. People may not remember, but nature does. The seasons changed, the years moved with contrasting changes before people eyes. The fertile land gradually became barren, becoming a lifeless land, full of curses, and then the same anger, years of its existance; gave birth to a terrifying entity.
