What is Tracha?
Tracha is a leftist (as in, Left Unity: Anarchist and Marxist-Leninist), trans-only Matrix Space aimed at being a replacement for Trans hangout spaces on Discord and other corporate platforms which collaborate with feds. Tracha wants to be a safer, better space for trans people.
Tracha is affiliated with Hexbear's c/traa community. In short, Hexbear is a Left Unity, queer majority community website found on the Fediverse (open source, interconnected social media).
What is Matrix?
TLDR: Matrix is an open protocol, like email: I can message you from Outlook if you use Gmail. You pick your homeserver, a server that stores your account data, such as name, and profile picture, and you can talk to other people, on other homeservers. An example of a homeserver is matrix.org. A client is an interface that connects to your homeserver.
Preferred homeserver
We do not recommend using matrix.org because of general slowness, messages not loading, and online statuses not being visible (you will always be shown as offline). The recommended homeserver is altesq.net, it has: online indicators, 400MB maximum upload size, message search up to 2 years, and it's fast. To sign up, please fill this form out.
Preferred client
We recommend using Sable, as it's the best client if you're coming from Discord, and in general. It also supports custom emotes, screen sharing, calls, message search, syncing drafted messages, GIFs, per message profiles for systems, and a lot of customization, to make Matrix an enjoyable experience! Sable can be installed on both desktop (Windows, Linux) and mobile (Android, iOS).

Rules
- Tracha is only for 18+ members.
- NSFW content is not allowed.
- Pronouns are mandatory in your username or the pronoun field of your client.
- Please follow the Hexbear Code of Conduct.
- No flirting, the chat should be comfortable for everyone involved. If you want to flirt, do so in DMs.
- No selfies allowed. If you want to share pictures, do so in DMs.
- No personal identifying information may be sent or appear in your profile picture and bio, that includes: names, addresses, exact location, selfies, etc. Timezones are fine!
- Messages about dysphoria/trauma/transphobia/xenophobia/any type of CW should be sent only in the Tracha Venting room.
- If you are linking to a corporate website such as Twitter, Youtube, etc., please link to it using a free and open source interface. i.e. Nitter, Invidious, and so on.

Two ways of using spoilers for messages:

Using Hexbear emotes
Tracha has all the emotes from Hexbear! Join the room #hexbear-emotes:altesq.net, then go to Settings and follow the steps below:
Now they will appear to the right of your emoji picker! Or you can use the shortcodes in your message like so: :xi-button: pressed the button
Unable to decrypt messages
If others are telling you that your messages aren't decrypting for them try typing in chat /sharehistory! If that didn't work, try /discardsession.
