-Dialogue with Sothis agreeing with her
-Sothis asks Byleth is she can remember which house she taught
-Options:
(>The Black Eagles
The Blue Lions
The Golden Deer)
-Sothis: “Ah, yes. I’m starting to remember as well.”
-Byleth looks out her window and realizes that she overslept
-Sothis chastises her for this, especially since it’s the day that all of the representatives finally arrive
-Byleth: “I’ve inherited more than just your powers it seems.”
-Byleth gets out of bed and gets dressed to try and go greet everyone
-Byleth wanders to the front entrance of the monastery
-A crowd has gathered
-Byleth sees banners displaying the flag of the Adrestrian Empire
-Edelgard spots Byleth from the crowd
-Edelgard orders her envoy to leave her and Byleth be
-Edelgard and Byleth walk into the entrance hall
-Edelgard remembers when she first walked through the entrance
-(Alternate dialogue: If Byleth picked “Black Eagles”, then Edelgard will instead remember when she first declared to Byleth that she wanted to create a crestless society)
-Edelgard says that the last time she saw Byleth was at the battle at Gronder Field
-Edelgard: “Such a level of violence has been unprecedented for centuries. I must admit that I hope that a battle like that never comes to pass again in our lifetime. However, please understand, if these talks fail, then I will stop at nothing to make sure that my dreams of a crestless society are realized.”
-Edelgard: “Professor, I acknowledge that your position is not an easy one, but would you consider acting in favor of Adrestia?”
-(Options:
"Yes" option [begin Adrestia route]
"I’ll think about it" option)
-(If Byleth picked the "I’ll think about it" option)
-Edelgard: “It would mean the world to me, Professor. But again, I understand.”
-Byleth takes her leave
-Byleth wanders into the knight hall where she meets another familiar face, being Dimitri
-Dimitri: “Professor, is that really you?”
-Byleth: “In the flesh.”
-Dimitri: “I feel like I’m looking at a ghost from the past. I don’t think I ever saw you at Gronder, and I remember a lot of things about that day.”
-Byleth: “Perhaps that was for the better. I was actually just speaking with Edelgard about it.”
-Dimitri: “That woman…”
-(Additional dialogue: If Byleth picked “Blue Lions”, then there will be additional dialogue about Dimitri and Edelgard’s past as step siblings)
-Dimitri: “Professor, Faerghus has been razed since the start of this war. Even outside of the conflict, we’re being starved of resources, and our people are dying in droves because of it. Please, would you consider aiding us during these negotiations?”
(Options:
"Yes" option [begin Faerghus route]
"I’ll think about it" option)
(If Byleth picked the "I’ll think about it" option)
Dimitri: “I see.”
Dimitri: “Oh, one more thing. Lady Rhea arrived with us yesterday, and she wishes to speak with you. She’s probably upstairs in the Audience Chamber.”
Byleth nods and takes her leave
Right as she's about to walk up the stairs, she hears yet another familiar voice call out to her
???: "Hey, Teach! Long time no see!"
Byleth turns to greet Claude and Hilda
Hilda: "Oh my gosh! Professor, it really is you!"
Claude: "See, Hilda? I told you our dear professor wouldn't just vanish without a trace."
Claude: "So, how has it been to be back in the land of the living?"
Byleth: "It's certainly been a shock to see how much has changed in my absence."
Claude: "I feel you there teach."
(Additional dialogue: If Byleth picked "Golden Deer" at the start then there will be additional dialogue from Claude about his desires to uncover the mystery's of the Church and how he has remained steadfast in his goals of opening up Fódlan to the rest of the world)
Claude: "Teach, we've been holding off the Empire while we've been dealing with the Almyrans to boot. Needless to say, we're being stretched pretty thin! The Alliance could use a helping hand in these trying times. So what do ya say, Teach? Wanna throw in with us?"
Hilda: "Yeah, Professor! We'll even sweeten the deal up if it helps!"
(Options:
"Yes" option [begin Leicester route]
"I'll think about it" option)
(If Byleth picked the I'll think about it option)
Claude: "Well, when you have an answer, you'll know where to find us!"
Byleth walks up to the second floor of the monastery, and enters the Audience Chamber where she finds Rhea, just as Dimitri said
Rhea: "By the goddess... Professor, it has been far too long."
Byleth hesitates
Byleth: "It's good to see you too, Rhea."
Rhea: "I thought I had lost you forever. To have you in my presence again makes me overcome with emotion."
Rhea reaches out a hand
Rhea: "May I?"
She cups Byleth's cheek and admires her
Rhea: "You look so much like your mother. I've always wanted to tell you that. I'm sure Jeralt did as well."
At the mention of her father, Byleth removes Rhea's hand (though not forcefully)
Byleth: "Things have changed, Rhea."
Rhea's expression turns to sorrow
Rhea: "I am well aware of that. How does everything make you feel about me?"
Byleth: "I'm undecided. I know of some of your secrets."
Rhea: "I see..."
Rhea: "Professor, please try to understand. I only ever did what I thought was necessary, both for the safety of the Church and Fódlan. If I could turn back the hands of time and do things differently, then goddess help me, I would."
Rhea's expression once again turns, this time to something more akin to anger
Rhea: "But you must see that Edelgard's transgressions against the Church and her initiation of this whole war cannot go unpunished. From the bottom of my heart, I must ask that you, with the power of the goddess, help administer righteous justice during these negotiations."
(Options:
"Yes" option [begin the Church route]
"I'll think about it" option
There's also room for potential alternate dialogue if Byleth is already on one of the other routes)
(If Byleth picked the "I'll think about it" option)
Rhea: "Your position is a difficult one, Professor, I understand that much. But I will patiently await your answer."
Rhea: "Oh, there is also one more thing. I'm certain that Garreg Mach has been looted to hell and back in our absence, but whatever resources are still available are at your disposal. Use them as you see fit."
Byleth returns to her room, where Sothis decides to voice her opinions
Sothis: "That was all certainly a lot to take in."
Byleth: "Everyone has grown up. I can't be surprised, but it makes me realize how much I missed."
Sothis: "Yes. Your precious students aren't exactly students anymore."
Byleth: "And yet they all still require my guidance."
Sothis: "It would be best for you to give someone an answer. But what the best path is I cannot say. Yawn... Ah, it makes me sleepy just thinking about it."
(Here the player/reader will be given the choice of which route to choose if they did not already say yes to anyone, along with being given the additional option of the neutral route
Options:
Aid the Empire [Begin Adrestia Route]
Aid the Kingdom [Begin Faerghus Route]
Aid the Alliance [Begin Leicester Route]
Aid the Church [Begin Church Route]
Remain a neutral party [Begin Neutral Route])
(If Byleth picked "Remain a neutral party")
Sothis: "A wise decision. Especially when tensions are so high, showing favor to someone would not go down well. The weight of the future rests on you and these negotiations."
"Anyhow, the first day of talks is tomorrow. It's going to be a big day, so you should rest now, for I don't think you will be given much opportunity to do so in the future."
