At Uplause, we want to be the de-facto platform for creators to engage with their audience.

We are looking for a Frontend Engineer to join our web team to work on our flagship suite of products (OneLink + Uplause Web). We've built our current portfolio of mobile apps with just a lean team of 5, but there's so much more to learn and do, which is why we need you!

Architecture

  • The Uplause OneLink runs on Node, with Remix for SSR and React to render the client. We're continuously looking to optimise our FCP times and try to render the page without waiting for any other resources.
  • We rely on React to provide the best possible UX but in case JS is unavailable (or disabled), most of the OneLink will still work (try it yourself here: https://uplau.se/obviyus).
  • We make heavy use of TypeScript to eliminate whole classes of bugs all around our codebases.

Team

  • As a part of the web team, you'll be working very closely with the API team and design team.
  • We like to be out of the way, so you can do your best work. You will have the autonomy to manage yourself. We will not set work hours and believe that you should be able to structure your days for what you feel has the most impact.
  • We do a lot of in-depth code reviews for sharing knowledge.
  • The team is extremely performance centric and we regularly review our internal benchmarks for signs of regression.
  • Almost every single part of our deployment strategy is automated. We preach and practise automation heavily.

What you will work on

  • New features, themes and the occasional bit of design.
  • React performance + adopting best practices.
  • Website performance (Core Web Vitals, critical rendering path etc.).
  • As we grow, you will help us evaluate the architecture and trade offs between various solutions.
  • Expect to wear a lot of hats.

We're looking for someone who

  • is comfortable being a part of a small team, with a high degree of autonomy.
  • can communicate clearly.
  • can bring new ideas to the table (product || code).
  • has a high level of experience with most of the tech that we use. Most importantly: Node, TypeScript, advanced React.
  • has experience in web performance tuning.
  • is genuinely interested in what we're building.

Location & Compensation

  • Remote First
  • ₹12,00,000 - ₹35,00,000 + ESOPS

If you don’t meet 100% of the above qualifications, you should still seriously consider applying. No matter what you come in knowing, you'll be learning new things all the time and we'll be here to help. We are incredibly excited to tackle the rapidly growing $200B creator economy with you.
