Kris fucking kills dess.txt
She overstepped her bounds. She made a clear pass at Asriel in front of Kris and Noelle. Despite Asriel being totally oblivious, a silent rage filled Kris.
Amidst the snowfall, he no longer felt cold.
Kris quickly wove his fingers in-between Asriel's as they turned around and walked home from the fork in the road. Asriel chuckled at this; It was typical
behavior for Kris, and he found it endearing. He somehow didn't notice the barely-contained anger boiling underneath Kris.
His whole body felt hot. A rock sat firmly at the bottom of his stomach. No one could have Asriel. No one could take his brother away. Kris knew he needed to do something. No matter how he wracked his brain trying to find an easy solution, nothing came to him.
He locked himself in the bathroom that night, running the faucet as loud as he could. He was desperate to drown himself in the sound. He furiously scrubbed his hands under the lukewarm water, trying to think of something, anything that would alleviate his fear. He fell to his knees and covered his face as the tears welled over.
Then there was a soft knock at the door. Kris barely heard it over the running faucet. He wiped away his tears as Asriel called to him from the other side.
"Are... Are you OK in there, Kris? You usually don't stay in there this long."
Kris placed on hand on the floor to steady himself, which curled into a fist as he struggled to spit words of any kind out.
"Y... Yeah... I'm fine." He lied.
"Do you... want to talk about it...?"
"I said I'm fine." He screamed it without meaning to. Kris clutched his chest.
Asriel didn't respond for a moment, then cleared his throat.
"Alright then. I'll uh... wait for you. In the room, I mean. Take your time." and he walked up the stairs.
Kris listened intently to each step as they got quieter. He sat with his back against the cupboard and hugged his knees.
"What can I do...?" He looked at his hands before burying his face back into his knees.
He stood up and gently turned the knobs. The bathroom suddenly felt so small. He shook his head in a vain attempt to clear away the growing unease and opened the door. The livingroom and kitchen both were completely dark. How long was he in there? It didn't matter.
Kris trudged up the stairs and quietly opened the door to his room. Asriel was asleep with the blanket half-covering him. He was waiting for Kris to come in and lay down next to him as he always does when Kris has an episode. Asriel never pressed him to explain. He was never anything short of understanding, kind, and patient.
Kris slid into the open space in Asriel's bed and curled up against his back, burying his face in the soft fur.
"Mmh..." Asriel's eyes opened halfway. "Kris?"
Kris nuzzled against his back in response.
"Do you feel better now?"
Kris whispered a muffled "no". Asriel turned to face him with tired eyes full of concern.
"I'm here for you, OK?" He snaked one arm underneath and another over Kris to pull him into his chest. "No matter what it is."
Kris nodded and closed his eyes, losing himself in his brother's scent. His brother gently squeezed him.
"Good night, Kris."
"Good night, Azzy..."
"--iel. Kris. It is morning! Come now, get up!"
Kris opened his eyes wearily to his mother standing over his brother's bed with a smile.
"Up, up, both of you. We have things to do! We're going to the Holiday's for a get-together tonight, and we have to prepare. Up, up!"
"We got it, mom. Just give us a second. We were up late talking last night."
"A-Ah." Her smile fell just a bit. "I see. Very well, I'll allow you a moment. But please hurry!" And she rushed out of the room.
Kris groaned quietly and sat up. The absolute last thing he wanted was to be anywhere near Dess, or for Asriel to be near her. Asriel sat up beside him, giving him a smile and softly laying a hand on his head. Kris couldn't help but smile back.
Asriel threw his legs over the side of the bed behind Kris and stood up, stretching and groaning as he shook off the sleep. Kris' eyes immediately followed the curve of his back.
"Welp. Mom's right. Let's get going. Didn't think we'd be seeing Dess and Noelle again so soon, haha."
The day ticked on painfully slow for Kris. Though he usually enjoyed helping Toriel cook, he was dreading that evening.
Asriel kept a close eye on his brother, trying to keep him cheered up. He couldn't think of why Kris wouldn't want to play with Noelle again, and his face never stayed content for long. Asriel decided that it would be best to stick with him through the night.
And so the evening arrived. Toriel, Kris, and Asriel stood at the gate to the Holiday residence with food in hand; Toriel carrying homemade gravy, Asriel
carrying a large bowl of salad, and Kris with mashed potatoes. The gate creaked open for them and they stepped inside, making the long trek down the driveway, with snow shoveled off to both sides, to the two-story house in the distance.
The feeling of dread within Kris escalated with each step, until they stood at the door. Asriel rung the bell and stepped back. The door was opened by their spider maid, Muffet, who quickly ushered them in.
"Please, allow me, Ms. Dreemurr." She extended all 6 of her arms.
Toriel graciously handed her the bowl of gravy she was carrying, and Kris and Asriel followed suit.
"You will find the masters in the livingroom, directly to the left. Please, make yourself at home." With a light curtsy she vanished down the hallway into what was presumably the kitchen.
They made their way in and exchanged their "hello"s with Rudy, Noelle, and Dess. Kris' stomach fell at the sight of her.
Rudy explained that his wife was out of town on a short-notice call, and that she wouldn't be joining them for dinner.
Asriel sat next to kris who found himself sitting on the floor in front of the sofa opposite Rudy.
"H-Hey, Kris." Noelle sat on her knees in front of him. "Are you OK?"
Kris nodded and stared at nothing in particular on the floor.
"Heya, hot stuff." Dess flopped down on the soft next to where Asriel was on the floor. "What's happening?"
Asriel turned to her and laughed. "Hot stuff? What kinda name is that?"
"I dunno. You fit the bill, though!"
Kris burrowed into his sweater, hiding his eyes.
"Why don't you and I go for a walk, Azzy?"
Asriel shook his head. "I uh... can't."
"Aww, c'mon. It won't kill you to spend a little alone time with me, will it?"
"I'm not feeling all that well, haha..." He lied.
Noelle backed away a bit. "Y-You're not sick, are you?"
Kris slid his hand across the floor until it made contact with Asriel's. Asriel rest his fingers on top of Kris' hand.
"No, no. Probably just from being in the snow without my jacket."
"Alright, alright. Lesson learned. I'll bring my own from now on. Didn't think it'd come back to bite me in the ass."
"Language." Rudy uttered to his daughter before carrying on with his conversation with Toriel.
It wasn't long before the maid entered the room and proudly announced that dinner was ready. Everyone followed her into the dining room, where she politely sat everyone at their designated spots.
Dess was seated next to Asriel, who was next to Kris, who was next to Toriel, who was next to Noelle, who sat next to an empty seat usually occupied by her mother. On the other side of the table was Rudy, next to Dess.
Muffet took a moment to speak with Kris.
"Young master, I'm sure you might wish for some meat. I've prepared some for you to eat privately if you so wish."
Meat was rare in his household, and he couldn't deny he wanted it, but that would mean leaving Asriel alone near Dess.
"No thank you."
"I understand. Should you change your mind, please let me know."
The chatter from the living room resumed as everyone piled their plates.
"She always loves to prepare those things for you." Asriel tilted his head. "Are you sure you don't want it?"
"Yeah. She was so excited to have you over again. She never gets to make meat dishes, otherwise."
"I'm fine. Really." Kris tried his best to smile. He couldn't slip up.
"Pretty selfish of you not to at least try it." Dess scoffed and returned to eating.
"That's not very nice, Dess..."
"Well, it's true. Kid's a selfish brat, sometimes."
Kris stood up abruptly.
Asriel turned to him as the chatter died down. "Kris?"
Kris ran out of the dining room and to the front door, Asriel worriedly calling after him. He didn't stop. He couldn't stop.
"E-Excuse me, everyone. I'll make sure he doesn't get into any trouble." Asriel nodded and stood up with a reassuring smile. He was still confused what set
Kris off, but he needed to be there for him. He turned to make his way out.
"Hold up. I'm coming with." Dess stood up and excused herself as well, following Asriel to the door.
"Oh, that boy... Whatever will I do with him." Toriel jokingly murmured to Rudy.
"Let's just hope he doesn't get into the christmas lights again!" Rudy let out a hearty laugh.
Once outside, Asriel scanned the driveway, finding no sign of Kris.
"Where could he have gone..." Asriel sighed and started walking towards the gate.
"What's up with him, anyway?" Dess tried to match Asriel's pace.
"I have no idea. He's been acting... strange since we got home yesterday night. I wish he'd just tell me."
"Since last night, huh?" Dess clicked her tongue and shrugged. "Don't you think you oughta make him tell you at that point?"
"I can't just force him to, you know? He doesn't ever come to anyone but me with his problems to begin with..."
"I know you love your brother and all, but you can't be so soft with him. He's gotta grow up and stop relying on you so much."
"Huh? What does that have to do with anything?"
Dess stopped and looked out at the trees surrounding their property, noticing what seemed like some fresh footprints in the snow.
"The kid holds hands with you constantly. He's obsessed." She adjusts her scarf. "I think that's why he's acting like this."
"I still don't understand what that has to do with it. We're brothers. It's natural for us to be close, isn't it?"
"If you say so. You're gonna go check your house, right? Meet me at the hill by the lake on the way back." Dess began following the footprints as a confused Asriel made his way out the gate.
Kris hugged his knees close, staring out at the frozen lake. The ice reflecting the moonlight gave it an ethereal flow, and he kept his eyes firmly fixated on it, trying to drown out any other thoughts. Trying to hold back the tears on the verge of flowing out. He didn't even hear Dess approach him.
"This seat taken?"
Kris jumped in place, but kept his gaze firmly set on the ice, though heat was already rising inside him.
"You know, this is one of my favorite spots, too." Dess sat down beside him and rest her head on her fist.
"So what's your damage, kid?"
Kris remained silent.
"C'mon, Kris. Don't give me silent treatment or I'll pry it out of you."
Still nothing.
"Fine. I'll say it. You're jealous, aren't you?" She looked over at his face and saw the tears welling up. "It's pretty obvious."
"Why do you care?" Kris could barely whisper the words out.
"I think it's only natural for me to care. Especially when your brother was the first to leave the table to chase after you." She shifted to her other arm and
sighed. "So spill it. You think I'm gonna make your brother love you less or something?"
"Why are you trying to take him away?"
"Do you think he belongs to you or something?"
"He's mine."
"And if he says yes to me?"
Kris was silent.
"To be blunt with you, kid... I think I'd make Asriel pretty happy. I'd hate for his little bro to hate me, but I can't do much about it."
Anger.
"I'd really hate it if my future little bro didn't like me, though."
Hatred.
"You gotta get over yourself, kid." Dess stood up and brushed the snow off her rear. "Asriel might be your brother, but he's his own person, too."
Seething hatred.
Red flooded Kris' vision, and before he even realized what he was doing, he grabbed Dess by the arm and flung her down the hill. She tumbled until she
hit the ice and slid a ways out before finally stopping. The freshly formed ice began crackling underneath her.
"H-Huh? Kris, what the hell?!" She threw her head up to see him standing at the edge of the lake.
He took a menacing step forward, clouded by rage.
"He's mine." He whispered underneath his scarf.
"K-Kris, stop!"
Another step, pounding the ice and cracking it. Another. And Another. Each step closer, the ice cracked more, sending branches outwards and underneath Dess.
"Kris, this isn't funny! Stop right now!"
"You can't have him." He stood in front of her, glaring down.
"So what? You're gonna drown me? Your brother is already on his way. What are you gonna do when he sees you trying to kill me? He'll hate you. He'll never forgive you."
Kris' face twisted into a livid sneer and he stomped on the ice, causing it to give way beneath her.
She took a breath as she fell, then quickly resurfaced. The water instantly chilled her to the core, but she persisted.
"Asriel!" She screamed out for him as she desperately tried to grip the intact ice around where she fell.
Kris kicked her hands off the edges and watched her plummet back into the water below and resurface again. Each time she called out, but to no avail.
The water was quickly sapping her strength and she could no longer raise her hands to climb out. Kris watched as she frantically tried to stay afloat and keep her breath.
"K-Kris... I p-promise I'll l-l-leave Asriel alone..." Her teeth were chattering uncontrollably. "P-p-please h-help me out..."
She pleaded with him using the last of her strength, but there was no mercy in his eyes.
"Asriel is mine." He whispered to her as her body finally gave in and she began to sink. A content smile spread across Kris' face as the water became still.
"No one will ever take him away."
He called out to Asriel. Dess tripped from the hill and fell through the ice.
