Replace Lost Stolen Green Card
Have you lost your green card or is it stolen and do you need to replace lost stolen green card ? In this article I will tell you the process to renew your green card if it is lost or stolen.
Step 1: The first thing you need to do is file a police report that your green card is lost or stolen. You will need to file a copy of the police report with your application.

Step 2: Get all your documents ready to apply for your green card renewal. You will need a copy of your old green card, residency proof and maybe some other documents. USICS will let you know if they need any additional documents from you.
Step 3: Next, apply the green card renewal petition. This petition is filed by filling the form I-90. You will also need to file the fees of $455 and an additional $85 for the biometrics. If you are outside the United States when you lose your green card, you will need to go to the consulate and get a temporary permit to enter the United States. You then apply for a visa once you are back in the US.
Step 3: You can then submit your application online or my mail. If you apply by mail you can pay using check or money order. If you want to pay with a credit card when applying by mail then you need to attach an additional form authorizing USICS to charge the fees to your credit card.
Step 4: You will next get an appointment to go and get your biometrics done.
It can take anywhere between 1.5 to 12 months. You can track the status of your application status online and can apply for a travel permit if you need to travel before your new card arrives. You can also ask the UCICS to give you proof of residency if you are applying for a job and need to prove your residency.
