Why does it say my seed is different?
Because you're a dumbass and either continued a previous run, or you didn't pick 'New Game' in the first option in game mode select.
Why did I suddenly get a bunch of perks and upgrades mid run?
Because someone is a dumbass, and when they joined, they either continued a previous run, or they didn't pick 'New Game' in the first option in game mode select.
What happens if I die?
If permadeath is off, your character turns into a hostile NPC ghost, and you spectate another player. As a spectator, you can swivel a deflection shield around whoever you're spectating. If permadeath is on, you simply spectate, and cannot shield anyone. Wait until everyone is dead for the host to start the next round.
Can I be revived?
If permadeath is off, yes, but another player has to kill your ghost. Sometimes your ghost will suicide itself, so pay attention, you might be back in the game.
How do perks work?
Most perks are client side, except for ones that affect the world. For example, if one player takes "Oil Blood," only that player benefits from it, since its personal. However, if someone takes "More Hatred," that makes all mobs aggressive globally, so every player gets it.
Is friendly fire on?
It's turned off, however you can still take damage from other players' explosives, or take direct damage from them if either of you are affected by berserkium.

Why is PERSONAL_LASER banned?
Too easy to grief, even accidentally.
Why aren't similar spells banned?
Currently, (due to a bug) when ANY spell is banned, even when formatted correctly, ALL spells get banned.
Why is gold shared?
Spells and wands are not shared, but each entity drops client-side gold. It accumulates fast enough that players can get ahead when they fall behind.
Why do people hate fungal shift?
If it transmutes something like water to fucking poison, not only will your world be waterless (bad when most players won't have toxic immunity AND fire immunity), but it will also require a lot of computing power and synchronization overhead to calculate it. You are best off not fucking around with that.
Why is (some fucking option) the way it is?
Trust us.
