[03:01] Vyldrax says, "League"
[03:01] Vyldrax says, "Game"
[03:02] Maria Malibu asks, "...?"
[03:02] Maria Malibu blinks.
(Maria Malibu)
[03:14] Whatever...any of those words meant, Maria didn't seem to understand. Was Vyldrax calling his league of pirates? Was her marking Maria as fair game?
It didn't manner.
The echoes of the forest were silent and dismal. The dead of night, where monsters lurk. The echo of screams upon one's ear. One wrong step, and you'd have your flesh torn asunder.
It was another night for this Malibu. The night was peaceful. A full moon, yet again. Stars shining across a bed of darkness, shining bright on a desolate morrow.
The night was calm. The woman herself seemed to be hunting. Typical bounties that gave her pocket change. Nothing to be proud or ashamed of. It was merely another night, until a wisp catches her eye.
A light, far off in the distance. Curiosity beckons her as she approaches. Her rifle was clung tight in one hand, ready to fire, lest things become dangerous.
She encroaches upon this light. The only one miles away in this desolate midnight. She finds a stallion, and the eyes of another that had marked her gaze.
Emerging from these shadows, she'd stare. It was as if she couldn't walk any further, marking the man's eyes with her own.
The woman remembers. She remembers the rumors, the details in his features. The talk of an undead captain.
The very same who killed her brother.
The markings and details on this one's face were striking. Did he not know as he looked at the girl, how much he had taken from her? How much sorrow he had buried in her heart?
Did he even know?
Did he care?
Her brother was not given a chance. No chance for redemption, no chance to fight back, merely a unfair death. His story bound between the pages of so many others. A dirty and unfair end to his story.
"..."
She stares silently at this man. The shadows of her heart that she had forgone for quite a while, emerging once again as her canary hues furrow in hatred.
This had to be him, wasn't it? Of course it was. Every detail she had heard were pitch perfect. And all she would think was the toil burrowing in her soul.
Levius was not given a chance. He was not given the justice he deserved.
Maria knew she didn't stand a chance. Not yet.
She did not care.
The woman raises her rifle, as if to point. Something would cause her to hesitate. Her breathes grow low and seething. Heavy huffs, in tune with her heart beating as she stared at the man.
The features to Levius were unparalleled. The very same of their mother. The locks of hair, the roundish features, the look in their eye, awfully stubborn for a Malibu.
Her eyes lock with the man yet again. She was frozen. Not in fear, but in pure hatred.
She wouldn't let it get to her, would she?
She had done so well lately...
"..."
(Maria Malibu)
[03:29] Vyldrax was seemingly transfixed with the water ahead. The Pirate King completely zoned out of anything ongoing with his surroundings, a myriad of thoughts whirled within the mind of the man as he continued his lackadaisical rest by the cliff's edge.
That was until his mana picked up another. The earth beneath his feet signalling the arrival of a Malibu at the necromancer's flank. A quiet murmur spilled forth as he made to turn around.
"..'nd just when I was finally getting some rest."
Orbs peered at Maria as the man finally turned around. An unfamiliar figure, completely unknown to the man. That peering paused to squint towards the rifle adorned within a hand.
"Who're you t'en? You come for revenge or something? That rifle of yours won't do much."
A whimsical, nonchalant chuckle left the lips of the Malibu murderer.
"Run along now. Shoo-shoo."
Vydrax's hand wafted dismissively the way of Maria, seemingly losing any interest in the woman.
"I'll give you a chance to leave. I am feeling generous today, not many people can receive this treatment from me, ye'? So best take your chance while it's being provided."
The necromancer in truth had completely forgotten about the past slaying of Levius. A multiude of deaths had occurred since the meeting of the Malibu and Pirate King at this exact same location.
Too much had occurred for the man to recall such an encounter with Maria's brother.
Another, final wave was provided. That hatred within Maria's eyes not even considered; a sight he was used to seeing since the years of the Deathwind Fleet's reveal.
(Vyldrax)
[03:36] A myriad of thoughts as well, for the Gunslinger that would try to challenge the Pirate King. She knew that she most likely was not strong enough to contend just yet. Her magics were lackluster, no matter how potent her gunslinging was. They were conflicted, hard to manage, let alone to be wielded against a foe of this power.
The mute gunslinger. The one who had just started to mark her story. Was this the beginning of a new chapter?
Or the end of it all?
"..."
She wish she could speak, she wished nothing more than to express her hatred. To deny this man his ego, and everything he stood for. What could she do, with that voice of hers? The one that can barely utter a word?
She was completely unknown to him now, of course. Levius was nothing to him. He didn't even seem to remember what he took from her. Why would he care for her?
Well.
She'd let him know.
"..."
"No."
The mute answers. Uttering a word from her throat, this one marked with more fervent emotion than any before.
"..."
"No."
She says yet again. She cocks her lever action rifle, furrowing her brow yet again at the man who had took her brother.
Who had taken everything from her.
It was ironic, for he didn't even seem to know or care.
Once again,
'He'd let him know.'
Even if she didn't win this battle. Even if she were maimed beyond recognition, she'd let him know who she was.
A pirate versus a gunslinger.
The first bout of many.
Or the end.
"..."
A shot rings from her rifle, echoing through the midnight air. Nothing but hatred fills this woman's soul. The consequences set in stone at a single pull of her trigger
She had to avenge her brother.
For what else did she live for?
(Maria Malibu)
[03:40] There was an immediate reaction of mana when the gun was raised; when the shot was set off. Sand erupted forth to supply a shield against the blast that was aimed the way of the necromancer.
A covering that lasted a scant few seconds, before a verbal response was made.
"...I did warn you."
As that sand fell to the ground, so too did Vyldrax react in turn. An explosive blast was sent instantaneously the way of Maria. The Pirate King holding nothing back as he lunged forth with the Twin Balmung in each-hand.
Evidently, they would fight.
Maria seeking revenge, and Vyldrax merely attempting to slay another that had stepped within his path.
(Vyldrax)
[03:45] {Lost Dangerous RPB against Vyldrax}
[03:45] Vyldrax has inflicted an injury upon Maria Malibu. ("Temporary Injury", "Temporary Injury", "Temporary", "Duration: Medium (2 days)")
[03:51] A shielding of flame licked across the body of Vyldrax when he made to approach. His drakanite heritage supplying scales to counter-act against the flame and heat that looked to incinerate the wielder of fire-magic; said shield of flame supplied a defence that was unlike any other.
Such allowed the man to easily approach the woman, even as lacerating winds and gravity itself looked to slow his approach. An immediate slamming of sword was blocked by the timely swapping of Maria's own body and summon.
It was a back and forth for a few moments, before ultimately it became apparent that Vyldrax held a more powerful ability to cast than Maria's own, and soon time itself was against the woman.
"You should of fled.
You're too weak for ya' vengeance, for your chase of glory. But don't you worry; you've proven yourself worthy of sailing the seas with me for eternity."
Another explosion rocketed forth.
Unseen, and with it the previously tenacious will of Maria was broken... at least, the bruising that coated her left-side and the concussion would see her defeated by the pirate.
But, she was still capable of casting. Still capable of fleeing. She would simply have to enact her plan now... for Vyldrax was approaching. Each step taken leading the man closer to extinguishing the life of Maria Malibu.
Luckily for the woman... he had quite the walk. A distance that would allow her to give a few seconds of thought to a plan to flee; the perfect amount for a magi to come up with an escape route.
(Vyldrax)
[04:03] Vyldrax says, "9ty for rp btw"
[04:03] 'You took everything from me...'
'...Everything....'
"..."
"EVERYTHING!"
Maria rushes forth in a blast of light. She aims to hit the pirate with the butt of her rifle. Gravity magic propels her forth. The midnight air tainted with blood.
It was here, in this exact spot that her brother died. That Levius was not given the chance to fight back, that he was given naught but a pitiful display of mercy.
It was here, that his sister would fight for him.
Even if she died, even if the pain that was given to her was unbearable, it would mean nothing compared to what she's already suffered in her heart.
Levius was not given a chance. But she did have the chance to fight. For both his redemption, and his justice.
The midnight sky shines bright on the duo. A apprentice Wayfinder and gunslinger, against the all powerful might of the Pirate King and his armies. The woods are tainted with blood, the gunslinger marking her prey with his head. She was as accurate as she was deadly with her rifle. Each and every shot hit it's target, debilitating the pirate king as she rushed in for hand to hand combat. Close quarters combat is done with the butt of her rifle or a handy pocket knife at her hip. To which her fighting style was as acrobatic as it was deadly.
All those nights training in the woods, all the monsters she's killed, the magi's she's fought, for this single moment. To watch him scream as she slit his throat in two...
Of course, the story would not end just yet.
Maria was by all accounts, a gunslinger. She'd use her rifle to gain distance, bullets infused with Gravity runes tearing holes in reality to allow herself to debilitate her opponent and rush further. She'd keep her distance, unless needed. Swiftly flinging Levius's pistol in more close quarter's situations, or acrobatically dodging the Necromancer's array of powerful spells. Sound magic, was at her aid now, as she seemed to entrust the loud roars of her gunshots to debilitate her opponent ever further.
The world roars as reality is ripped. Black holes summoned from mere bullets, roaring weights of gravity pulling her opponent down, gadgets thrown from her belt that would activate as mines to further debilitate her opponent until she can lock the killing blow. And yet...
It wasn't enough.
None of it was.
"Agh...mgh-..."
"..."
Still, she fights. As the sand courses against her skin, as it tore her flesh asunder with each and every move. As the ground shook, breaking her shins in two. As explosions of fire erupted, burning the very skin from her body.
Twin Balmungs are collided against Lavender Moon. An Arcanium finish successfully blocks his attacksas he closes the distance. Her skill did not dictate her power, it would seem. As the sheer force of that man's blades overwhelm her in each and every moment.
Maria is debilitated, the blood runs from her poors, seeping from her mouth. Flesh torn asunder, dripping slowly onto the grass below. The Pirate King marking another for death
"..Hah-...hah...hah..."
She smiles. The pain coursing through her body, the aching echoes of her hatred.
She couldn't die just yet, could she?
No.
Not yet.
Her story wasn't over.
Maria pants, walking backward as Vyldrax taunts his prey. Perhaps now, he can see her features. Of the man he killed that day, who he cared naught for besides another body to the collection.
He didn't know Levius.
But he'd know her.
'As the one that got away.'
Maria continues to fight, rearing the world with her magics. Gravity and reality torn asunder, her gunslinging and swift acrobatics meaning nothing, against one such as this.
It would seem Maria had an ability of her own...
"..Ngh-...mgh..."
She is marked at his mercy. Once again, the Gunslinger's heart erupts. It was do or die. Give in to her pain and her fate, or deny it right in front of the captain. To deny her death, come back another day as a stronger and more capable gunslinger...
That was her story.
"Heh-..." she listens to his speel. Alas, it was as if the little woman enjoyed this. The rush of battle, knowing full well her death was mere moments away.
Malibu's were stubborn. Unfortunately for Vyldrax, his prey wouldn't give up that easily.
Softened breathes, using the rest of her mana and power, to call upon the Lifestream once again.
(Maria Malibu)
[04:07] Maria grips tight to her rifle. How long had it been since she had done this? For if she didn't do it know, she'd be kept in the annals of history with all of the dead before her.
An explosion rockets forth, striking the woman's head. It gives her a concussive blast, enough to have her tumble against the ground below.
He'd think their will was extinguished. In the shadows, wary and dazed hues watch as the man with dual blades lingers forward. He continues to linger, each step marked with naught but death as he'd approach.
A plan. A quick one. She didn't have time to think, for another shot rings out from her rifle. Calling out from the Lifestream, a single shot from her rifle tears a hole in reality big enough to form a portal right upon Vyldrax's very eyes. He made the mistake of giving her leeway to cast, for this single spell allows her to escape. Those very precious seconds, saving her life in an instant
Vyldrax might attempt to rush in and stab Maria, to collect his prey before they'd escape...
He was not given the chance.
"..."
"Bitch."
The mute roars with a wink and a smile, falling into her portal before it closes unceremoniously. Leaving Vyldrax with naught but the shadows of the night.
And the face of that woman.
The one that got away.
