WARNING / AUTHOR'S NOTE

As the title of this creepypasta may very vaguely imply, this is a retake of BFDI 26: Flower's Revenge, which is... Not the best in terms of quality. So, as someone who both really likes creepypastas AND really likes not only BFDI but object shows as a whole, I decided to rewrite this creepypasta into something that's at least somewhat readable. I tried really hard with this one, so I hope my efforts to make a good story show here. Also, this is getting posted onto rentry.co before the fandom wiki because BFDI is a blacklisted subject on there, and I'm currently waiting for it to get approved.

I accidentally made this more of a feelspasta than anything?? Oops. Either way, I hope you enjoy this creepypasta. But, as always, there's some triggering stuff in it, so here's the trigger warnings for this creepypasta:

  • Bullying
  • Ableism
  • Abuse/Neglect (Mentioned)
  • Self harm (Mentioned)
  • Suicide

As the themes of suicide and bullying are especially heavy in this one, I just want to remind you that if you're struggling with any of the above, you're not alone. If nobody else cares, I care, at the very least. Listed below are various US-based helplines:

Thank you for giving me your time if you've decided to click off, and thank you for reading if you've decided to stay.

Wilting Flower

A Creepypasta Re-Take by Moonajauna

Object shows. Love them or hate them, you can’t deny that it’s impressive how a passion project made by literal children managed to garner such a massive audience, all while practically starting a whole new genre of web animation. Said passion project being none other than Battle For Dream Island, a simple (at first) Total Drama-inspired web series featuring various sentient objects, all competing for a chance to own the titular Dream Island. The plot gets slightly more complex after that first season, what with the algebraliens and BFDIA and all that, but that’s the basic gist of it.

One massive fan of this show (and other shows like it) was 16-year-old Casey Hendrix, who went by the username “FlowersRevenge” on most social media sites. She was well-known for making various fan animations of BFDI and other such shows, often animating the BFDI cast to a wide range of memes and songs with a particular focus on Flower, her favorite character, and the one she often used to represent herself. Casey had a passion for art and animation, as you can probably guess, and she was quite good at it too.

Casey’s channel was created in 2010, and according to a post on her now-deleted twitter account, she did this so she would be able to vote on the various BFDI eliminations. However, she wouldn’t upload any videos until 2014. Casey’s animations during her time on YouTube and Twitter made her a niche yet well-respected figure in the object show community, regularly receiving support and praise from her online peers for her animation and art skills. Casey’s personality reflected her art, being remembered as a kind, silly girl, always letting people vent to her in her DM’s, using her niche microcelebrity status to promote smaller creators in the community, and generally putting a smile on everyone’s face. However, in the real world, her personality was… Quite different from her seemingly cheerful self.

In school, Casey was more quiet, reserved. She was known as one of the “weird kids”, always doodling in her notebook or using her school laptop while everyone else ignored her existence. Casey always had trouble making friends, especially due to her autism and severe social anxiety, so she viewed the internet as her only real way for her to make friends. Casey used to be in a couple of clubs and extracurriculars, such as band and chorus, but by the second semester of her sophomore year, she dropped all of her clubs, and even her band grades started plummeting despite her love of the subject, with her classmates even noting how she would always seem sad in class. Casey even started quietly, yet audibly crying while playing her violin mid-concert, according to multiple performers and attendees of her school’s spring concert.

The signs of Casey’s depression didn’t end in the real world. In various Discord vent channels and on both her private and public twitter accounts, she would often vent about her lack of real life friends, going into detail about feeling like everyone hates her, how she felt as if she was an inherently irredeemable person, feeling like her “work”, as she put it, was all for nothing in the end. Her online peers and fans would try to comfort her, even directing her to various hotlines and other resources when her vents got particularly worrisome. However, none of that was enough. None of that could have prevented her final animation, posted right before making her final decision.

During the summer of June 2017, Casey became inactive on all of her social media. Concerningly so. When one of her online friends messaged her on Discord to ask if she was alright, they only got one message in response:
“It’s ok. You’ll be okay. Thank you for being there for me. I love you. <3 :)”

For the few days after that message was sent, Casey would go radio silent on EVERY social media she had. Everyone who knew her personally was concerned for her, hoping and praying for her safety. Suddenly, after her disappearance, she finally posted something on her Twitter account, the second to last post she’s ever made.

“Thanks for all your support. Unfortunately, I won’t be here much longer. I know you’ll be able to move on without me. That’s the nature of the internet.

Take care of yourselves. For me?”

…The very next day, Casey would post her final animation onto the internet. It was a fan animation for BFDI, her usual type of video. But this one was titled “Wilting__Flower_.mp4”, like she couldn’t even be bothered to type in the title of the video herself, opting to just use the file name as is. The description consisted only of the phrase “im so fucking tired”, and the thumbnail was a dark gray background with the animation’s title, Wilting Flower, stretched along the left half of the image in white font. On the right side behind the title, however, was Flower. Her eyes were underlined by heavy eye bags, parts of her face being stained with dried-up tears. Only half of her body could be seen, but there were noticeable light red lines along her stick arms, indicating that she was cutting herself. Flower looked absolutely miserable.

The thumbnail of the video

The animation itself opened up with a shot of the iconic BFDI fields, the Locker of Losers being visible, yet far away. After a second of this, white text with a black outline saying “WILTING FLOWER” slowly faded into view. The title would stay there for about 4 seconds, before fading into a shot of Flower sitting in the corner of the Locker of Losers, a dull expression on her face as she watches the other inhabitants of the locker go about their lives. Pen and Eraser are joking around with each other, while Blocky appears to be planning out some sort of elaborate prank. There’s no background music here, just the sounds of what seemed to be a mall food court of various conversations, random quips from the characters thrown in at some attempt at humor in what would later become a very dark and depressing animation. All the other objects blend into an unrecognizable blur to her, their speech fading into incoherent mumbling as an internal dialogue begins. It should be noted here that Flower is the only character who has Casey’s natural voice. All other characters are Casey doing an impression of what they sound like in the show itself.

“...Wow. This is… It. This is my life. No friends, nobody liking me. I’m alone, even in a sea of other losers.”

The shot changes to that of Match and Pencil talking to each other as the dialogue continues, seemingly gossiping to each other, with Pencil pointing to Flower multiple times, both of them giggling as she does so.

“They all laugh at me. They all hate me, I know it. I was the first one to go, the first boot. It makes sense as to why I’m the most hated contestant on this godforsaken show.”

The shot goes back to Flower, showing a close-up of her face as tears begin welling up in her beady eyes. Suddenly, a high-pitched chirping sound is heard, it’s intonation suggesting that this is a concerned chirp. The camera zooms out to show Rocky standing next to Flower.

“O-oh, uh, hi, Rocky.”

Rocky smiles, sitting next to Flower as he looks up at her. His black eyes stare back up at hers, patiently waiting for Flower to start venting to him. Flower smiled back at Rocky, before returning to her previous frown.

“...Rocky, have you ever felt… Alone? Even in a crowd? Even somewhere… You were supposed to have a community?”

Rocky stared off for a moment, pondering, before giving a slight, worried nod.

“...I don’t think I fit in anywhere. I don’t think I was meant to even be here. I think I was always meant to be… Alone. Stuck in that dirty old house, parents screaming at each other until I couldn’t even play with my dolls in peace, not being known by anyone anywhere. I think I was meant to be an online friend exclusively. Everyone knows that my real personality sucks, anyway.”

Flower went on for just a little bit longer before trailing off, the light from the small amount of sun being let into the Locker of Losers glazing over her eyes, before trailing off to Rocky, who was now frowning in concern for his friend.

“...Except you, of course. You stay, for some reason. You listen.”

Rocky smiled, emitting a happy little chirp as he did so.

“...You really don’t deserve a sis-”

“Uh, Flower?” Eraser suddenly appeared, his voice startling both Flower and Rocky

Flower rolled her eyes. “What do you want?”

“Final challenge is happening right now, and the Announcer wants us all to be there. Including you two.”

“Oh.” Flower stammered for a bit, before shyly picking up Rocky and sprinting out of the Locker of Losers. Eraser watched as the two ran out, confused at what was happening, before shrugging his concern off. “Alright then.”

Flower can be seen nervously sprinting out of the locker, barely acknowledging Rocky in her arms before he kicks her in the chest, making her stumble, slowing down as she decides to place him gently on the grass. Rocky proceeds to do his usual vomiting gag as Flower catches her breath.

After a bit, Flower gets a tap on the shoulder, startling her. She let out a yelp as she turned around, before sighing of both annoyance and relief. “Oh. Hi, Pen.”

The camera switched to Pen as he chuckled nervously. “Hey! Uh, you… You, uh, doing okay, Flower? You're not looking too hot…”

Flower turned back around, grimacing. “Yes, I am, I'm just tired. Now go away.”

Pen frowns. “...Are you sure?”

“Yes, I am, I already said that.”

There was an awkward pause for a moment as the two objects stared at each other, Pen with concern, and Flower with agitation.

Flower turned her back to Pen after a bit. “If you don't plan on bothering me any further, I'll be going to the bleachers now.”

“N-no, Flower, wait-” Pen starts running after her.

“Leave me alone, Pen.”

“But- Flower- Blocky, he's–!!”

“I SAID LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE, TYL- PEN. LEAVE. ME. ALONE. DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME YOU ANNOYING FUCK?!”

Pen fell backwards out of shock, a look of fear with leftover concern plastered on his face. Even Rocky, who was watching the entire thing, looked absolutely terrified out of his mind. Meanwhile, Flower was panting aggressively, occasionally choking up with what sounded like the cut off beginnings of a sobbing fit.

“...I'm sorry.” Flower whispered as she turned away from Pen once more, with Rocky reluctantly following in her stead.

The camera cut back to Pen, who was frozen where he sat, his breathing patterns much shakier than before. “He's…” He gasped. “...Planning…Something…”

There was a wipe transition between the Locker of Losers and the final challenge, before showing Flower and Rocky both walking into what seemed to be white, blocky bleachers. Flower sat down in the front row of objects, her eyebags from the thumbnail being especially visible here. Announcer speaker box gives the same exact spiel he gave during episode 25 of BFDI, the one where he explained what the final challenge of the season was, and how everyone who was eliminated before Firey and Leafy was gonna be watching. Everyone else cheered, with shouts of “Go Firey!” and “You got this, Leafy!” thrown in. Flower just stared blankly, blinking one eye at a time as though she just woke up from a deep slumber.

A full body shot of Firey, putting his hands on his hips, ready to give it his all. The camera moves over to Leafy, excitedly waving at the people on the bleachers, smiling as wide as she could. Then back to Flower again. A headshot this time, as she stares blankly at the screen, a far-cry from her canon self.

The screen gradually darkens around her as she stares, leaving only Flower visible. A loud ringing sound fades in as this happens, completely drowning the chattering noises. Suddenly, the screen switches to static, before cutting to the Blocky’s Funny Doings International intro. The shot then cuts to Blocky adjusting a shaky camcorder.

Blocky clears his throat, trying to hold back laughter. “Hey guys, for a prank, we're gonna pour this watering can riiiigghhtt on top of Flower's pretty little head!”

The shot cuts back to Flower engulfed in that same darkness and ear-piercing ringing from before, now with various dark scribbles surrounding her. You can just barely make out the sight of Blocky slowly approaching her from the bleacher right above her, holding the aforementioned watering can.

Back to the camcorder footage, now accompanied with dark, ominous, distorted music, along with the aforementioned ringing sounds (Albeit, the ringing sounds are now quieter). “...Well, except this isn't water. Flower cares so much about her appearance, right?”

The shot switches back to the bleachers, except Blocky is seen lifting the watering can up, a twisted, sinister smile forming on his cubic self. Right before he pours the can down on Flower, we hear audio coming from the camcorder footage:
“Instead of using water, we're gonna use bleach! Heh, Have fun fixing that!”

What follows is the bitcrushed sounds of Blocky laughing like he just told the funniest joke on the planet, along with a shot of Blocky pouring the bleach-filled watering can down upon poor Flower. Pen sees this, his haunted expression from earlier returning.

Without thinking, Pen lunged towards Blocky, desperately trying to pry the watering can out of his stick hands, unintentionally making everything worse as he accidentally spills the entire thing onto Flower while trying to get Blocky to stop.

Flower is stunned, not fully processing what just happened for a moment or two as everyone suddenly turned around to stare at the commotion unfolding before them, the BFB gasping sound effect playing as they did so. Flower's breathing became heavy and extremely shaky as blisters and burns started gradually forming on her face. After a second or two of this, she began to violently screech in pain, touching her face repeatedly in some impulsive attempt to make her burns hurt less.

As Flower continued to scream and sob from the physical and mental pain, Blocky began laughing. They were slight chuckles at first, but they quickly devolved into cruel, hateful hysterics that was notably out of character for even him, the prankster of the actual show. After a few seconds of Blocky mocking Flower's pain, other objects began joining in, with the only few objects not participating being Pen, Rocky, Firey, and Leafy. Firey and Leafy stared in shock, jaws perpetually open as they attempt to process what's happening. Rocky looked at Flower with sympathy and concern, and Pen had this depressing look of guilt, shame, and disgust expressed as well as the simple animation style of BFDI could express.

It's here that the animations colors began to turn eyestrainingly bright, and the audio became this weird, horrific mesh of laughing, screaming, and overlapping, vaguely melodic horn sounds. The shots kept switching between everyone who was laughing, with the faces of everyone laughing gradually becoming more and more distorted, as if they were all melting into each other. The worst of the bunch had to be Blocky, who looked like he had been living in Chernobyl for his entire life as his distorted laughter permeated through the speakers. The only object who didn't become horrifically distorted was Flower, who at this point had become a silhouette with glowing white eyes, and faint grey spots on her face where the bleach had scarred. Flower was still screaming, but it was weakened now as she transitioned into a sobbing fit.

In the midst of the eyemelting chaos, Rocky looks surprisingly normal, looking completely desaturated in comparison to the colors being shown. Rocky slowly approaches Flower, looking like he himself is about to cry. Flower turns around to look at him, sobbing her eyes out. Rocky frowns, looking up at Flower with concern, before the camera zoomed out and his pupils suddenly shrank to the size of sand grains.

The animation style suddenly switched to a more hand-drawn, monochrome sketchy look, except this time Flower wasn't Flower. In Flower's place was what looked to be a teenage girl with dark medium-long length hair with lighter highlights, broken circle glasses for eyes, a plain white t-shirt, a black zip-up hoodie, and black pants. This is what Casey looked like in real life, making the animation's meaning clearer than before.

A screenshot from this part of the video.

Casey looked up from the ground, her scars from the bleach being graphically detailed. A real life video started playing in the background, that being a Snapchat story of Casey crying against the wall of what seemed to be a high school hallway while a group of boys laughed at her, a bleach bottle spilling onto the floor that it lied upon being seen right in front of her. Whoever is recording can be seen repeatedly trying to shove the camera in her face, showing the various scars and blisters on her face, some still forming as the bleach from her hair continues dripping onto her, but you couldn't see them well as Casey kept on covering her face. The Snapchat caption bar simply said “LMAOOO 😂🤣😂”.

The animation switched back to the object show style, the laughter still going as strong as ever. Suddenly, Flower looks up, no longer a silhouette, but she was now adorning the same cracked circle glasses that Casey had. Flower began to pant aggressively, her repressed rage gradually boiling to the surface.

Slowly, Flower got up, the animation switching to the hand drawn style as Casey began slowly approaching Blocky, who now was represented as a teenage boy with short hair wearing a grey hoodie and black gym shorts. He was drawn with no eyes and no nose, only the same distorted smile that Blocky had. As Casey got right behind him, the animation switched back to the object show style as Flower suddenly grabbed Blocky by his upper back, Blocky letting out a surprised yelp as she did so. Before Blocky even knew what had just happened, he was suddenly face slammed straight into the bleachers, blood spurting from his face as a tooth flew out.

The music cut out as everyone could only stare at Flower in shock and disbelief. Her breathing became louder than ever, a smile slowly curling up on her lips as she watched her tormentor bleed. The animation switched back to the hand drawn style, where Casey began laughing
maniacally as she started repeatedly bashing the guy who Blocky was clearly a stand-in for into the bleachers. Blood started spewing everywhere as she beat him to the point of near death. Every time Blocky's face hit the bleachers, it would switch between the hand drawn and object show style, with images of hateful messages, both sent to her directly and sent in group chats between bullies, other cruel “pranks” in a similar vein to the bleach one, things she owned defaced with various ableist slurs and insults written in permanent marker, and more were all interspersed between frames. Everyone began slowly backing away as this all went down, with most people eventually running away in horror.

The animation switched back to the object show style for the final time as Flower looked up from her bloodbath, noticing just how many objects were leaving.

“Yeah… YEAH THAT'S RIGHT! JUST RUN AWAY LIKE YOU ALWAYS DO! LOOK AWAY FROM THE BULLSHIT I’VE HAD TO DEAL WITH EVERY SINGLE DAY OF MY MISERABLE FUCKING LIFE! JUST LIKE YOU ALWAYS HAVE!” Flower began laughing again. “EVERY. SINGLE. DAAAAAAAYYYY!!”

Flower threw Blocky onto the ground, who gasped in pain as he began to cough up blood and teeth. There were bruises forming all over his body, and he was bleeding everywhere. You could even see a bit of bone on one of his arms start to peek out if you looked closely.

“P-please…” Blocky managed to cough out. “...S…Stop it… Please…” Blocky paused, choking slightly on the buildup of blood and mucus forming within. “I'm sor-sorry… Plea-”

Flower cut him off with another deranged laugh. “NOW you're sorry…? After EVERYTHING YOU'VE DONE!?”

Blocky just stared at her as tears formed in his oval eyes. Flower got closer to Blocky, looking down at the scum beneath her feet. “You're only sorry you got caught.” She chuckled slightly. “Of course someone like you would only apologize when the consequences of their actions come back to bite them in the ass.”

Flower lifted up her foot, ready to deliver a killing blow to her tormentor.

“I'll show you who's ‘special’.”

With that, Flower stomped Blocky's face in, completely dislocating his jaw. In about as effective of a manner as the BFDI art style could, all the gruesome details of it were on display for everyone to see. It was as if you put someone's muscular system into a broken red plastic cube.

Blocky tried to scream, but to no avail. Eventually, his condition worsened, and he died right there on bright green grass, which was slowly being filled with red. The shot lingered a little too long on Blocky's corpse, before going straight back to Flower, who just looked… Empty. Detached. Miserable.

Everyone had left, even Firey and Leafy. The only people who remained were Flower, Pen, and Rocky, the latter two just staring at Flower in utter disbelief.

Flower looked around, before stopping at Rocky. She stared at him, then back at the corpse she just created, and after a few moments she fell to her knees and began sobbing profusely, overcome with guilt over what she just did.

The final shot of the animation was a long shot of Flower sobbing over Blocky’s corpse, with the camera panning up towards the sky as the word “FIN” slowly faded into view in the same style as the opening of the animation. There was no music, just the sounds of Casey violently crying into the microphone as the video faded to black.

As you can imagine, this video caused many people to become TERRIFIED for Casey's well-being, with most of the comments coming from concerned viewers. After the video was up for a few days with no further updates from Casey, the fanbase she had made became increasingly worried and frantic. However, when Casey's Twitter account finally updated just a few days after the video went up, their worst fears were confirmed in the most devastating way possible.

The tweet itself simply contained the words “Statement from Casey's father”, accompanied by a Twitlonger link. The following is what was contained inside the Twitlonger:

Hello everyone, I hope all of you are doing well. As you can imagine from the title, this is Casey’s father speaking (Well, foster father, anyway. But I've always viewed her as just my daughter). I know she cares about her online fans and this ‘Object Show’ community as a whole very much, so I figured that you all deserve to know what happened to her since posting that… Video.

Unfortunately, as of June 26th, Casey has passed away. Her brother found her after she hanged herself in our garage. I tried so hard to help her, to find some way to keep her alive, but the truth was that she was dead the moment I arrived.

I'm truly sorry if I sound more… Cold. I'm still in a state of utter disbelief and distraught from everything. Losing your daughter, even if said daughter isn't biological, will definitely do that to you.

Out of respect for Casey, I'm not going into the full details of why she did it. All I'll confirm is that yes, Casey did originally come from an abusive and neglectful home, and yes, she was being bullied at school. I tried to step in and get the principal involved, multiple times in fact, but all I ever got were vague promises of “We’ll look into it” and nothing more. I'm also going to be taking down the Wilting Flower video from her channel, as Casey's death alone has hurt our family in many ways, and keeping it up just adds salt to the wound, so to speak. Please don't reupload the video, and please don’t try to seek it out.

To everyone who supported Casey and tried to help her, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. What happened absolutely wasn't your fault. You did enough, and you did your best. That's all that matters. And to her bullies… All I can say is that I hope you realize the damage you've caused and that you finally get the punishment you deserve. I'm too drained to try any sort of revenge plot, but I think karma will do its job just fine anyway.

And if Casey is somehow reading this from the afterlife, know that I love you, now and forever. I think my biggest mistake was not telling you that enough. Many people in your life feel the same way. I hope you're able to find peace up there.

…The response to this tweet was overwhelmingly sad. Many people were replying and quote retweeting offering their condolences to Casey's family, wishing Casey a peaceful afterlife, and overall reminiscing on her legacy in the Object Show Community. Casey's foster dad would reply to a few of these, but after a day or two he stopped responding completely. A month or two after the incident, Casey's Twitter and YouTube accounts by her foster parents, rendering her entire channel as lost media today.

Now, as for me, you're probably wondering why I'm posting this or even talking about this at all. Well, the truth is… I'm her brother. Kevin. I was the one who found her, and I was the one that Rocky was supposed to represent in her final video. I myself am neurodivergent, much like Casey was, albeit I had higher support needs at the time and was dealing with selective mutism and autism related struggles of my own.

I saw the animation exactly once, but it was while I was in the hospital. The only reason I was able to describe it in detail was because of my thankfully strong memory combined with other people's accounts of the animation. I've never been able to fully move on from the incident, but posting this onto the internet should hopefully give me the closure I've been needing for years now. If you have the video downloaded somewhere, please send it to me. Don't upload it anywhere else, just… Send it to me.

If you have any memories or other art/animation pieces by Casey besides what I just described, please share them here. I want to do the best that I can to keep her memory alive.
