You wake up feeling as if you had been encased in stone for a thousand years. Only with great effort are you able to move your arms and legs; at first they will only twitch, but eventually you are able to stand.
You are in a small forest glade. The bright blue sky, and the sunlight shining on you like a spotlight, make it feel like you are in a fairytale. It is neither warm or cold, even though you are not wearing anything but your underwear.
You try to remember where you are and how you got here, but each time you are interrupted by a splitting headache. You cannot seem to even remember your name.

A few steps away is a woman, unconscious as you were a minute before. She is also stripped down to her underwear, and you can’t help but stare for a few moments. She still hasn’t come to, so you decide to lightly shake her shoulders. That does the trick. She opens her eyes and manages to croak out a few words:

”Who are you?”

Her voice is dry and raspy, and it makes you realize how dry your own throat is. She winces. She must have been trying to think of the same things you were earlier.

”Ugh…”

Now realizing her lack of clothing, she weakly jabs at you with her feet. You stumble back, and turn away from her, trying to give her some semblance of privacy. A minute later, and she’s managed to get on her feet.

”You can look now, I guess.“

She’s realized that there was nothing she could do to cover her shame. There’s a gold pocket watch in her hand. According to her, she was holding it when she woke up, and it was already stopped. You examine the area where you woke up, but it seems that you had nothing.

”We should look around. Wanna go together, or should we split up?”

There are two paths leading deeper into the forest. Do you:

Take the same path together.
Split up and take both paths.

You decide it would be safer to stick together, in case there are any dangerous fauna in the forest.

”Let’s take the right path. Because it’s the right one.”

You accept her decision, but decide not to acknowledge the pun. She gives you an expectant look… and starts walking without you when she realizes. You speedwalk to catch up, and silently follow the path with her.

The woods are much darker now that you’ve left the glade. Strangely, you still don’t feel cold, even without the sunlight on you. Though she still isn’t saying anything, she sticks close to you, your bodies nearly touching. It’s somewhat uncomfortable, actually, but you dare not bring it up as she would probably reward you with another kick.
You encounter deer several times, and each time they stop to eerily stare at you until you pass. You also hear many different bird calls, but not a single time do you actually see one. The idyllic feel of the glade has completely disappeared; while these woods don’t feel actively hostile to you, you most certainly don’t feel welcome here.

”Do you hear that?”

She finally breaks the silence. You’re about to ask what she heard, but then you hear it too: a music box. The song is faint, but it seems to be coming from close by.
You notice that she’s gripping your wrist, probably out of instinct. You decide not to tell her, for now.
Though you can’t imagine anyone living in such a place, you begin to follow the sound, hoping to find someone - or something - that knows where you are. Maybe even how to leave.
Following the song through the twisting, winding woods, you end up at another glade. The sunlight once again lights up the land, but the eerie feeling from the woods doesn’t go away. This clearing is dominated by the largest tree trunk you have ever seen, a tower stretching far above the other trees forming the canopy.
At the base of the tree, there is a door carved into it, and a path through the grass formed over time by many footsteps. Clearly, someone lives in this tree.
You turn to the woman and ask her what to do.

”This is probably our best bet for finding out where we are…”

But then again, there’s no guarantee that whatever lives here is willing to help you.

Try to enter the towering tree.
Go back and explore another direction.

[Recap: You wake up nearly naked in a creepy forest with a woman you don't know, and no memories, not even your name. You follow the sound of a music box to a huge tree that also seems to be something's home.]

The door creaks loudly as you enter the tree.
The interior resembles a cozy woodland cottage. Warm, incandescent light shines through a glass panel in the ceiling, and you can feel warmth on your skin, almost as if you were in front of a lit fireplace. It's silent except for the sound of the music box, which, strangely, now seems to be coming from outside.

"Doesn't seem like anyone's home."

The woman behind you has let go of your wrist, but you can still feel the sweat her clammy hands left behind. You, of course, decide not to mention this.
A spiral staircase leads further up the tower, which you climb.
The first floor up is what appears to be a kitchen. There doesn't seem to be anything interesting here, so you continue climbing.

Next, you find yourselves in a study. For a home built into a tree trunk, it looks surprisingly normal, if a bit rustic. Pictures of animals line the walls in ornate frames, and there is a small bookshelf with a collection of thin, spiralbound books.
The woman attempts to read one of them, while you examine a small desk at the back of the room. There is another one of those books on it, open to what looks to be a partially-written journal entry.
It's dated 11/11, either today or yesterday's date, you presume. The words are penned in impeccable cursive... but you cannot read the words; except for two printed lines.
One is your name. You don't know how you know it's your name, but you wouldn't immediately understand it was your name if it wasn't. The other is probably the woman's name.

"It looks like these are all journals... I can't read what language they're written in, though."

So she's found out the same thing you just did. You tell her as much.

"Hmm. So we've learned nothing. At least it's not as creepy in here..."

Yeah, until whoever lives here comes back and kills us.

"Let's keep going upstairs."

This time, she takes the lead, climbing another spiral staircase. It leads to a hallway, with rooms on either side and at the end. You enter the first room, which turns out to be a bedroom. The sight of a bed reminds you of how tired you are, and you both collapse onto it. The covers are dusty, indicating that the room has not been used in a long time. Resting here for a while seems like a good idea.
She turns to you.

"So, remember anything yet?"

Well? Do you remember anything?

Tell her that her name is Kronii.
Keep it to yourself.

[Give me more (you)s. I don't want rape anon making all the decisions here.]

You decide not to tell her the name you read in the journal.

"No? Me neither."

You look at her, then at the ceiling, then back at her, trying to think of something to talk about. Nothing particularly comes to mind.

"What if... we never get out of here?"

This was something that you had not considered before. There was no evidence to prove that you could go back to your previous life, wherever that was.

"I... personally wouldn't mind. Starting fresh. I don't have anything important holding me back, anyway."

She fidgets with the watch that she was still holding.
Wait, what did she just say? Does the memory loss only extend to specific details of your lives - or was the conversation helping her remember?

"Hey, I asked you a question."

Right. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad, you tell her.

"Yeah. It's like when you're in university, and you wonder what it would be like to just move out to middle of nowhere and live on a farm."

Another detail. Was she a student, then?

"Maybe there are towns outside the forest. We should just try and go as far out as we can tomorrow."

You nod.

There are footsteps coming closer. You have no time to get up before the door opens, and someone enters.
A woman, with green hair and twigs poking out of her head, looks down at the two of you. There is a faint green glow surrounding her that almost makes her look like a ghost.

"My, my. I don't get many visitors these days. And humans, no less!"

She giggles. Her voice is strangely calming, and you almost forget that she is the owner of the home you are so rudely tresspassing in. You sit up on the bed, waiting for her next move.
She brings her face close to yours, and holds your chin in her palm. Then she does the same to "Kronii".

"Ah, you two are so delightfully cute."

She giggles again, in that disarming way.

"Oh, where are my manners? My name is Fauna. But everyone around here calls me Mama. Do you two have names?"

That was an odd question to ask, but you did, in fact, not have a name at this time. You begin to explain your situation to Fauna, but she interrupts you almost immediately.

"Shh-shh-shh. I can tell your throat is quite dry. Come come, I'll make you some tea."

You are forcefully ushered down to the kitchen. There are three chairs set up at the dining table, which definitely were not here when you passed by earlier.
She sets down two cups of tea for you and "Kronii". Once again, you explain your situation to her.

"Hmm-hmm. Memory loss... This is the first time I have seen anyone with this... condition. But I have many remedies. I'm sure I can find something to help you regain your memories."
"But, it's getting quite late, and I need to make some... preparations. You will stay the night here, okay?"

As if on command, you are overcome with tiredness. It doesn't seem like you've been here for that long, but there are no windows in the tower, so you cannot tell the time of day.

"Goodnight, my dears. You can use the guest rooms upstairs. Don't worry about the cups, Mama will take care of cleaning up."

She giggles once again, and disappears up the stairs.

"Kronii" yawns and stretches.

"You feel it too, right? I'm so sleepy all of a sudden. I have a bad feeling about her, too..."

You nod. You barely have enough energy to head upstairs and sleep.

But where...?

Share a room with "Kronii".
Sleep in the other room.

You follow “Kronii” back to the bedroom and collapse onto the bed, losing consciousness almost immediately.

It’s silent and pitch black, but you’re awake. Something heavy is holding your arm in place. You realize that it’s “Kronii”, who has somehow managed to wrap herself around you in her sleep.
You freeze. You cannot see her, but you can feel her breasts pushing up against your arm. Her legs are wrapped around yours as well. You were almost used to her being in nothing but underwear for most of the day, but the feelings you had been suppressing were back.
You slowly wriggle your arm free.

”mumble, mumble…”

She’s awake. Her hand feels around for your face, then she brings her own face close.

”You’re actually pretty hot.”

Hardly a compliment when she can’t actually see your face in the darkness.
Your lips touch. Again. She misses the third time, landing on your nose.

”Think there was… something wrong with that tea she gave us…”

She adjusts her position, moving her body fully on top of you.

”I… love…”

You are concerned that this relationship is moving along too quickly. But you have neither the energy nor the rationality to stop her now.

“Give it to me…”

You grab her chest. Her nipples are fully erect, and she recoils when you pinch them.

”No, here…”

She takes your hand and guides it to her pelvis. It’s already sopping wet, and your fingers glide along her lips. Her body rubs against yours as you pleasure her… though that may be a stretch, as she is mostly using you to pleasure herself.
She speeds up, and you move your fingers faster to match her pace. Faster and faster… and…

She moans. Her legs close around your body and she attempts to kiss you, deliriously. She misses once again and her tongue runs up and down your cheek. Something cold and wet drips onto your face. Tears?

“Kronii” may be finished, but you are still intensely aroused. Almost shaking from it, you-

No choice.
[This is the first time I’ve written an erotic scene, if you can’t tell. No more updates until tomorrow.]

You regain consciousness after suddenly blacking out during your encounter with "Kronii". The room is no longer pitch black, but lit by an ethereal green glow.
How much time has passed? Is it morning? You can't tell.
"Kronii" is gone. Feeling around where she once was, you find her watch. She would have no reason to leave it here now, so she must not have left by her own choice. You grip it in your hand, just in case.
On the other side of you, Fauna is sitting quietly, looking down at you. You can't see her expression; the room's eerie light has left her face in shadow.

"I hear you’ve been quite naughty... I had to separate you two before things got too toasty."

She giggles sweetly. Her voice is soft - barely above a whisper. Though she is scolding you, her voice is comforting to listen to.

"It's okay."

She places a hand on your head, lightly brushing your hair. It feels good.

"In fact, I find it rather cute. You are cute. You’re so cute that I personally invited you to my forest."

She giggles. A nervous giggle? You remain tense, fighting against all of Fauna's attempts to soothe you.

"Well... I may have stretched the truth a bit. I invited you here because you were suffering. You and the girl... were both dissatisfied with your lives before. Forced to live in a cold, uncaring world... It pains me so much to see the humans I love so much suffer like that."
"A long, long time ago... I had a human companion. Or, hmm, was I the companion...? It doesn't matter."
"My human had to endure so much - from other humans, no less. I wished for it to end, I wished to be able to protect my dear human. And eventually, my wish was granted. I became as a god... but it was too late. By that time, I was alone."
"I took the form of my human companion, and created this forest. A sanctuary. Where all my children can live in peace."

Fauna falls silent. In the few moments of silence, you hear faint noises from outside the room.

"I'm sorry, I'm making you listen to the rambling of a lonely mother."
"But my point is... my children want for nothing. Anything they need, my forest will provide."

She leans down, close to your face. With her overcoat removed, her cleavage was on full display. Of course you would look. What you did with "Kronii", and more importantly, what you didn't, was still fresh in your head.

"And anything it can't... Mama will."

She's close enough that you can see her mischievous smile. You notice that the twigs on her head had grown longer, and they were now twisted forward, like a bull's horns.

"So... won't you stay here with me? Ah, and if you don't want to be a human, you can choose something else. Maybe a deer? Since you're such a dear~"

She giggles.

You will...

Become one of Fauna's children.
Kronii... what did she do to Kronii?!

You grip "Kronii"'s watch tightly, using it as a focus to resist Fauna's influence. Her words, her touch, even her scent - they are all assaulting your brain, dragging you towards the abyss.
"Kronii! Where are you?!"
You manage to shout, as loud as you can. Fauna's expression changes to one of shock and panic upon hearing the name.
Almost simultaneously with your call, the door slams open, revealing a ragged Kronii. The remains of thin branches are loosely wrapped around her neck and arms, perhaps having been used to bind her.

"Kronii! That's my name! How did you-"
"STAY OUT!"

Fauna stands up, glaring at Kronii. She swiftly raises her hand, and new branches form around Kronii's feet, holding her in place.

"No, no, no, uuuu- Just stop it!"

She turns back to you. More branches extend up and around the bed, twisting around your limbs. Kronii gasps as if triggered by seeing you in danger.

"I can fix this! The watch! Give it to me now!"

The watch is already in your hand, and you throw it at Kronii. More branches shoot up from the floor as Fauna attempts to restrain your arm further.
It's too late though: the watch is already in the air. Kronii fumbles it, and it clatters to the floor with a heavy thud.
With Fauna's attention divided between the two of you, Kronii manages to overcome her restraints. She dives to the floor, grabbing the watch.

A split second later, Kronii is beside you, gripping your wrist again. You are still pinned down on the bed, but strangely, you cannot move the branches at all.
In fact, it doesn't seem like anything is moving. Except you and Kronii.

"I remember now. The watch lets me control time. We're the only ones that can do anything right now."

You ask her if she can help you with the branches. She nods and lets go of your wrist.

A split second later, the branches are untangled and you can stand. Kronii is holding your wrist once again.

"Don't let go, or else you won't be able to move."
"So... what now?"

Fauna is frozen in place, looking towards the door where Kronii was once bound. Time was really completely frozen, except for the two of you.
You are silent. Kronii begins pacing around the room, dragging you with her.
What can you do? Leave the tower? Even if you did, the enraged Fauna would be hunting you as soon as time resumed.

"What if... What if I turned back time to before we got here?"

That might work.

"But... I don't know what would happen if I did. We might forget everything that happened here."
"I don't know how far back we're going to go, either. It could be days or weeks."

That makes sense. But you couldn't think of any other solution, so you reluctantly agree.
Kronii hesitates for a second...

"Before we go... I'm sorry. About last night."

She embraces you, pushing her body tightly against yours. One long, deep kiss, and she pulls away.

"I know that doesn't make up for what I did. And we've barely just met. But I do like you."

It seems crazy, but you're caught up in the moment. You tell her that you feel the same.

"If you end up remembering, and you end up finding me... We can go on a normal date sometime."

You nod.

"Are you ready?"

There is one more thing you'd like to do. Pulling Kronii along, you approach the frozen Fauna. You glance towards Kronii, who is confused at what you are doing.
She won't remember this, so... you reach your hand out... towards Fauna's chest.
It feels like... nothing. No texture, no softness. It's as if your hand just stopped moving in midair.

A split second later, you are falling. Your head hits the ground hard, and Kronii's foot is on your stomach.

"What is wrong with you?"

You manage to smile a little. You're ready to go back.

A split second later, it feels like someone's driven a huge nail right into the back of your head.
Did you fall asleep for a second? It feels like the memories of a vivid dream were starting to escape from you...
You try to remember what you can: the apology kiss, Kronii, a date... Kronii? The rest is too far gone.
Though, those three things might make for a good story...

[End]
