Exalted Lunar Bot — Charm Access
The Charm trees for this bot, organized by Caste + Essence rating only. The Attribute framework from canon has been decoupled — this bot does not track Attribute scores. Within each Caste, Charms are grouped by Essence prerequisite so a player at a given Essence rating can see at a glance what is available.
The only gates:
- Caste ownership — the player's Caste determines which three Attribute trees are open to them:
- Full Moon — Strength, Dexterity, Stamina (the warrior body)
- Changing Moon — Charisma, Manipulation, Appearance (the social body)
- No Moon — Perception, Intelligence, Wits (the cunning body)
- Essence rating ≥ prerequisite — the player's Essence rating must meet the bucket the entry appears in.
Universal Charms (Excellencies, common anima effects) are duplicated under every Caste at the appropriate Essence level. (Universal) tag identifies them.
Lunar Hero Style (the supernatural martial art) is grouped under Full Moon because its Form-type Charm and prerequisites lean on Dexterity and natural weapons of the war form; the style is Full Moon's signature combat art in this bot.
Sorcery (Terrestrial Circle at Essence 3, Celestial Circle at Essence 4) is listed under No Moon — the priest-and-scholar Caste. The Crossroads Society is the No Moon sorcerous faction.
Descriptions preserve the narrative, sensory voice of the original reference. The canonical power-scale of each entry is preserved; canon mechanical language (dice rolls, DV math, motes-per-Essence formulas) has been reframed for free-form narrative play.
Knacks are left in their canonical organization at the top of this file — they are gated separately by training time and tutor availability rather than by Caste.
Shifting Knacks (General Notes)
- 11 XP each, 1 week training with tutor, 2 weeks without.
- Eclipse and Moonshadow Castes cannot learn Knacks (or Lunar shapeshifting).
Lunar Knacks
Form Acquisition: Animal
- Humble Mouse Shape (Essence 2): The sacred hunt opens to small creatures — anything down to mouse-size becomes valid quarry, and the hunt itself takes half its usual time.
- Emerald Grasshopper Form (Essence 3): The sacred hunt opens further, down to creatures the size of a housefly.
- Towering Beast Form (Essence 2): The sacred hunt opens to the largest things that walk Creation — yeddim, tyrant lizards, the great beasts of the wild places.
- Mountainous Spirit Expression (Essence 3): The Lunar's spirit shape doubles in size, taking on the bulk and presence of the Large.
Form Acquisition: Human
- Prey's Skin Disguise (Essence 2): The sacred hunt opens to humans and the basically-human; a half-day's hunt for each new face. It is murder, plain — unless paired with Life of the Hummingbird, which makes the taking bloodless.
- Honing the Stolen Form (Essence 3): The Lunar permanently sharpens a stolen human form past its original limits — the body becomes stronger, swifter, and more enduring than the person she took it from ever was. The form retains its original face and voice but moves like a creature trained for the trade.
- Intimate Training Recollection (Essence 3): Wearing a stolen human form, the Lunar inherits — for a single scene — one specific skill the original spent years acquiring. At higher Essence, two different skills at once.
- Flickering Star Infusion (Essence 4): The Lunar absorbs her victim's destiny along with their form. Spells and astrological workings aimed at the original now find her instead — long-running curses while she wears the shape, instantaneous strikes whether she wears it or not. She may reflexively refuse to inherit any specific effect.
- Lunar Blood Shaping Technique (Essence 3): The Lunar feeds her own blood to a willing recipient, lending them a shape from her library. A licked drop is good for an hour; a serious bloodletting for a day. While the gift is out, she cannot wear that shape herself.
- Insidious Lunar Transformation (Essence 5): Lunar Blood Shaping deepens — the transformation can now be forced on unwilling targets, the change contested by their will against hers.
Form Acquisition: Supernatural
- Green Sun Child (Essence 4): The sacred hunt opens to demons of Malfeas; the Lunar may take their shapes for her own.
- Heart-Theft of the Behemoth (Essence 5): The sacred hunt opens to primordial creatures, the things older than Creation itself. At first only those up to the size of tyrant lizards; at greater Essence, even the titanic behemoths whose footsteps shape mountains.
- Hearth-and-Flame Shell (Essence 4): The sacred hunt opens to elementals. Wearing such a shape, the Lunar takes on the elemental's nature — fire-skin sets dry grass alight, water-bone weakens before flame, stone-flesh resists the blow that would cut a body in half.
- Luna's Hidden Face (Essence 3): The sacred hunt opens to Wyld-mutated creatures. The borrowed shape carries no Essence-channeled power of its own, only the body and its inheritances.
Form Acquisition: Miscellaneous
- Laurels-and-Ivy Technique (Essence 4): The sacred hunt opens to plant and non-animal life; the hunt itself is a twelve-hour meditation rather than a chase. Worn as a plant, the Lunar perceives the world dimly and cannot fight.
- Life of the Hummingbird (Essence 2): The Lunar may take an animal or human shape without killing — a single tasted drop of the donor's blood gives an hour in their form, a serious bloodletting (which they survive) gives a full day. The clock starts the instant the blood leaves the donor's body; the blood cannot be stored.
- Taste of Luna's Champions (Essence 3): Drinking the blood of another willing Lunar in a fifteen-minute ritual, the Lunar learns one of that Lunar's shapes. Taken violently — through ritual hunt and kill of another Lunar — she may inherit every shape that Lunar had mastered, plus the dead Lunar's true human form. The war form does not pass.
Shapeshifting Refinements
- Hybrid Body Rearrangement (Essence 3): The Lunar carries a small reservoir of "wild card" mutations — drawn from her spirit shape's nature or from creatures whose blood she has tasted — and may manifest them one at a time at need (a hand sprouting claws, a back growing scales, fur thickening in cold). May be purchased multiple times to deepen the reservoir.
- Monkey Arm Style (Essence 4): The Lunar's limbs and fingers stretch on command, reaching impossible distances. Strikes at the far end of the stretch land with less precision than those at natural reach.
- Changing Plumage Mastery (Essence 2): The Lunar controls the fine details of any shape she wears — fur color, scar placement, length of hair, even the cut of the clothes she manifests with the form.
- Internal Form Mastery (Essence 2): The Lunar carries the deftness of her most agile form into every other form she wears; clumsy bodies move with a grace they should not possess.
- Subtle Silver Declaration (Essence 2): The Lunar suppresses her Tell at will — in a stolen form the Tell falls silent entirely, and in her true form it dims to the point an observer must look hard to find it. Old scars and birthmarks hide along with it.
- Twin-Faced Hero (Essence 3): The Lunar shifts the sex and sexual configuration of any form she wears — male, female, or neuter — and the body is fully functional in whatever shape she chooses.
Shapeshifting Speed
- Quicksilver Second Face (Essence 2): With a small Essence push, the Lunar's shapeshift moves through her body faster than the eye can follow — barely a heartbeat between one form and the next.
- Lightning-Change Style (Essence 3): The shapeshift becomes reflexive — it may happen mid-action, even mid-blow, in time to escape an incoming strike or to slip into a form better suited to what comes next.
- Constant Quicksilver Rearrangement (Essence 5): The Lunar holds a permanent channel open; shapeshifting becomes as natural as breathing, requiring no thought and no pause.
War Form
- Deadly Beastman Transformation (Essence 2): The Lunar takes her war form — a massive hybrid of human and spirit shape, stronger and swifter and tougher than either alone, manifesting a constellation of Wyld mutations drawn from her spirit shape's nature (none of them oversized, and none of them debilitating). The war form's resilience runs deep: grievous wounds do not worsen of their own accord, and lost limbs may be regrown with healing Charms in an hour's work. The transformation is the gateway to all Gift Charms.
- Perfected Hybrid Interaction (Essence 2): The war form's mutations no longer need echo the Lunar's spirit shape — she may reallocate them freely each time she dons the form, choosing whatever shape best suits the moment. Many of the older Pact whisper that this freedom is the first step toward chimerism.
- Terrifying Beastman Alteration (Essence 4): The war form deepens; further mutations layer onto the body. The Lunar's human form, between transformations, takes on a faintly animal cast — the Tell grows harder and harder to hide.
- Devastating Ogre Enhancement (Essence 5): The war form swells past the size of any natural creature — twelve feet at the shoulder, sometimes taller. Strength, swiftness, and resilience deepen further on top of the gains the war form already grants.
Chimera Knacks
Chimera-only Knacks; available to Casteless at 5+ permanent Limit.
- Quicksilver Form (5+ permanent Limit): The chimera's body reduces to viscous flowing material — knives and swords pass through as if cutting water, the wound closing behind the blade. Heavy blunt force still tells; a hammer-blow scatters the flesh.
- Body of Acid (5+ permanent Limit): The chimera's touch sears living matter and corrodes anything not magically warded. Whatever she strikes with hands or jaws burns; whoever grapples her takes worse.
- Assimilation of the Prey (req: Body of Acid, Quicksilver Form): The chimera engulfs a victim within her flowing body and digests them alive. The dead are absorbed entirely, leaving nothing behind.
- Blasphemous Offspring (req: Assimilation of the Prey): After consuming a creature, the chimera may expel a portion of her own substance shaped into a copy of what she ate. She perceives through it and may direct it; she may also release it. A released offspring believes itself the original it was copied from.
- Grotesque Pseudopodia (req: Quicksilver Form): The chimera's limbs stretch from her body as tentacles, reaching across rooms and clearings to strike at distant prey. The longer the reach, the greater the Essence cost — and a fully extended pseudopod can lash with crushing force.
- Defense of Meaningless Shape (req: Grotesque Pseudopodia): The chimera's body becomes glutinous on demand; physical blows pass through her and leave no mark. Elemental forces, pure Essence, and the strikes of overwhelming things still find her.
- Perpetual Regeneration (req: Defense of Meaningless Shape, Essence 5): The war form's regeneration applies in every shape the chimera wears, not only in the war form itself.
- Perfect Regeneration (req: Perpetual Regeneration, Essence 6): Regeneration continues past death. The only way to release the chimera's Exaltation is to burn every part of her body to ash; a fingernail or a single drop of blood is enough to regrow her, given time. A near-intact corpse rebuilds itself within a week. A single droplet may take a year or more.
Changing Moon Society Special Knacks (Heresy)
- Flowing Quicksilver Knack (Wyld Taint avoidance): When the Wyld closes in to mutate the Lunar, she sheds the shape it threatens and slips into another before the change can take hold. The new shape inherits no taint from the moment of escape.
- Shattered Silver Cage Knack (must be willingly learned): The Lunar's moonsilver tattoos shatter and her caste falls away with them. If she chooses to be tattooed again, this Knack is lost — she must learn it a second time before she can shed her caste again.
Lunar Charm Mechanics Overview
- Lunar Charms are thematically grouped by the nine aspects of the Lunar's nature — Strength, Dexterity, Stamina, Charisma, Manipulation, Appearance, Perception, Intelligence, Wits. These are character themes here, not numeric scores. Charm trees are shorter than those of other Exalted.
- The First Excellency applies to any of the nine aspects and to any action the Lunar undertakes.
- Keywords unique to Lunar Charms:
- Fury-OK: Activates automatically while Relentless Lunar Fury holds.
- Gift: Activates automatically within the war form; Essence committed to it cannot be released until the war form ends.
- Wyld: Functions only in at least the Bordermarches of the Wyld, or grows stronger as the Wyld grows deeper.
- Combos: a Lunar may chain Charms across different aspect-groups freely; they are not bound by category.
Common Anima Effects (Universal)
Available to every Caste at every Essence level. Minor Essence cost each.
- Make her caste mark and moonsilver tattoos glow brightly across the scene.
- Light the air around her brightly enough to read by.
- Make her Tell unmistakable to any observer.
- Know with perfect certainty the lunar day, the phase of the moon, and the exact time of day or night.
FULL MOON CASTE — Children of the Burning Moon
Warriors, hunters, the body in motion. Strength, Dexterity, and Stamina open to her. The Lunar Hero Style is hers by inheritance — the natural-weapons martial art of the war form.
Caste Anima Power: The Lunar's body becomes raw power — leaping distance and movement speed doubled, raw physical strength doubled for feats of lifting, throwing, and breaking.
Essence 1
- First Excellency (Universal) — The Lunar channels Essence to make herself substantially more proficient or capable at whatever she is currently doing. The greater the mote investment, the greater the leap — trivial tasks become effortless, difficult tasks become reliable, near-impossible tasks become merely difficult. Available for any action she attempts.
- Subduing the Honored Foe (Fury-OK) — The Lunar strikes with doubled force, but the blow always falls as bruise rather than wound — the foe collapses unconscious rather than bleeding. Useful when the Lunar wants the captive alive.
- Secure Cat Stepping (Fury-OK) — The Lunar remains alert and defended even while pressing an attack; the usual cost of committed offense lessens.
- Golden Tiger Stance (Fury-OK) — The Lunar reacts to a blow with full alertness no matter how committed her own previous action was — the cost of attacking does not dim her defense.
- Foot-Trapping Counter (Lunar Hero Style) — The Lunar pins her foe's stride; their attempt to disengage meets her positioning, and they cannot move away until they break the trap.
- Ox-Body Technique (Stackable) — The Lunar's body becomes deeply more resilient — wounds that would fell a mortal merely stagger her, and grievous injury merely slows her. The longer she trains the technique, the deeper the resilience runs. May be purchased multiple times to compound the durability.
Essence 2
- Wind-Wings Carry Technique — The Lunar's strike reaches further than her body could — a fist or weapon hurls itself through the air toward a distant target as if she had grown impossible arms. The further the reach, the greater the Essence cost.
- Agitation of the Swarm Technique — Each blow in a sequence batters at the foe's composure harder than the last; defenses break down faster than under ordinary assault, and a damaging strike turns the cracked composure into a general inability to defend at all.
- Ferocious Biting Tooth — The blow comes with such unstoppable strength that the foe's parry crumples — a sword raised to turn it aside bends or breaks rather than deflecting.
- Foe-Marking Style — The blow leaves a scar that ordinary healing cannot mend — a permanent mark on the body of the wounded. The Silver Pact uses this Charm in their honor-duels; the scar is the public record of the loss. Only supernatural healing can erase it.
- Prey-Hobbling Bite — A damaging blow tears into the legs or hips and ruins the target's stride — they run slower, leap shorter, and limp for some time afterward.
- Claws of the Silver Moon (Gift) — Silver claws extend from the Lunar's hands; they strike with deadly precision and force, and may turn aside lethal weapons that would normally be too sharp to block barehanded. At greater Essence, the claws become slimmer and faster, then needle-fine and overwhelming.
- Impressions of Strength (Fury-OK, Knockback) — A supplemented attack carries an "edge" beyond the ordinary blow — Birth of Flight (foe extremely hard to knock down) or Mighty Ram Practice (knockback travels another yard). At greater Essence, the Lunar may apply two edges at once, then three (becoming Obvious at three).
- Shell-Crushing Atemi (Fury-OK) — The blow lands as if armor and natural hardness were not there at all — plates split, scales shatter, stone-skin breaks.
- Tearing Claw Atemi — The Lunar's blow against an inanimate object doubles in destructive force; she may also double her raw physical power for a feat of lifting, throwing, or breaking.
- Molted Feather-Weight Technique — Any weapon becomes natural to the Lunar's hand — a broken table-leg swings like a sword she has trained with for years; an awkward weapon strikes true regardless of its ill fit.
- Lightning Flash Might Methodology (Fury-OK) — The Lunar may break or destroy an object as part of an attack action, rather than pausing to set herself for the feat.
- Roused Bear Throw (Knockback) — The Lunar hurls a grappled opponent through the air — across a clearing, off a parapet, through a wall — an impossible distance for the body of the thrower.
- Throat-Baring Hold — The Lunar declines to crush her grappled foe; instead, she exposes the foe's vulnerable points for her packmates' blades. Their next blows land more deeply for her grip.
- Graceful Crane Stance — The Lunar holds perfect balance on any surface no matter how narrow or precarious — a sword's edge, a rope, the ridge-pole of a roof, a single nail driven into a wall.
- Light-Footed Mountain Goat Stance — Loose scree, slick ice, mud, the sucking pull of a swamp — none of them slow or unbalance the Lunar; she crosses ground that would defeat ordinary creatures with the same easy stride she uses on dry stone.
- Cat-Falling Attitude — The Lunar takes half the damage of any fall and always lands on her feet; only falls of fifty yards or more carry the threat of true lethal harm.
- Finding the Needle's Eye — The Lunar drops her defense to lash out at an incoming arrow, bolt, or thrown weapon — splitting it from the air, knocking it aside, even cutting it in half before it reaches her.
- Wary Swallow Method — What should have been a surprise becomes a thing she sees coming — the strike loses its unexpected character, and she may defend against it as she would any other blow.
- Wind-Dancing Method (Counterattack) — After turning a blow aside, the Lunar leaps several yards in any direction — backward off a parapet, across a chasm, up onto a beam — repositioning faster than her foe can follow.
- Snake Body Technique (Counterattack, Lunar Hero Style) — The Lunar bends out of the path of a blow and twists the striker's momentum back against them — the attack lands on the attacker instead.
- Ground-Denying Defense (Obvious) — The Lunar controls the space around her so completely that fewer foes can crowd in to attack her at once. The same control protects her from one surprise attack while she holds the stance.
- Instinct-Driven Beast Movement (Obvious) — The Lunar's movement doubles, and she outpaces foes in a chase or footrace.
- Furious Hound Pursuit (Fury-OK, Obvious) — The Lunar fixes on a single quarry and runs them down — always slightly faster than they can flee, always closing the distance, gaining ground over hours and days as well as seconds. With significant effort of will, the pursuit becomes indefinite — she will close eventually, no matter how far they run.
- Flight of the Sparrow — When the Lunar flees, she outpaces her pursuers — doubled movement, and additional ground gained against any who chase her.
- Diligent Hive Imitation — The Lunar's miscellaneous actions — drawing a weapon, opening a door, picking up a stone — happen between heartbeats rather than taking time of their own.
- Wasp Sting Blur (Fury-OK) — The Lunar's action moves through her body faster — the strike or motion completes in a fraction of its usual time.
- Twin-Fang Technique — With a weapon in each hand, the Lunar strikes twice in a single motion — both blows resolving as if she had attacked twice. For ranged weapons, two projectiles fly in one release.
- Moonsilver Stomach Conversion (Gift) — The Lunar may eat anything without harm and draw sustenance from it — rotted meat, raw bone, leather, bark, even stone or metal in extremity.
- Steadfast Yeddim Meditation (Fury-OK, Stackable) — The Lunar pushes through pain, exhaustion, hunger, thirst, sleep-loss — every penalty short of unconsciousness fades while the Essence channel holds. She may pre-empt the suffering by channeling before it lands.
- (Directional) Mastery Technique — five Charms in all, one per direction of Creation. Center: immune to environmental crippling (avalanches, cave-ins, sandstorms). East: plant toxins don't poison, insects refuse to land. North: cold doesn't damage, walks through blizzards as if through summer. South: walks through natural and magical fire unburned, desert sun never makes her sweat. West: comfortable at any depth in the sea, marine venoms don't affect, small fish-schools cannot harm.
- Might-Bolstering Blow (Fury-OK) — A damaging attack that lands well against a worthy foe returns Essence to the Lunar — the more decisive the strike, the more the Essence channel fills.
- Breath-Drinking Executioner Attack (Fury-OK, Touch) — The Lunar reaches into a fresh corpse and captures the motes that would otherwise drift away into Creation, drawing them into her own pool.
- Relentless Lunar Fury — The Lunar enters battle fury — every blow more certain, every wound less staggering, every Fury-OK Charm activating in concert. Pain falls away; fatigue falls away; the world narrows to combat. She cannot perform delicate or considered actions while the fury holds.
- Bruise-Relief Method (Gift) — The Lunar's body knits its own bruises shut — bashing wounds close as fast as the Essence channels into them. She may heal herself even while unconscious, and in the war form the healing becomes reflexive, restoring her with every breath.
- Halting the Scarlet Flow (Obvious, Gift) — The Lunar closes a serious wound on her own body — bleeding stops, torn flesh knits, the cut becomes a scar within the breath that began it.
- Hide-Toughening Essence — The Lunar's skin hardens, deflecting blows that would otherwise wound; the toughening stacks with whatever armor she already wears.
- Armor-Forming Technique (Gift, Obvious) — Bony plates grow from the Lunar's skin — overlapping scales, ridged horns, a carapace of bone — deflecting blows that would otherwise cut. The growth crowds out worn armor, except Moon-Faced Mail and moonsilver pieces. In the war form, the plates persist far longer.
- Scorpion and Toad Absolution — The Lunar's constitution becomes near-perfect against poisons and diseases — her body throws them off where a mortal would fail.
- Rabid Beast Attitude (Lunar Hero Style) — The Lunar fights on through grievous wounds — pain that would stagger a normal warrior barely registers, for a span of actions.
- Thousand Claw Infliction (Lunar Hero Style) — For a moment the Lunar attacks as many times as needed, every weapon she carries striking at its true limit rather than the limit of its make.
- Lunar Hero Form (Form-type, Obvious, Lunar Hero Style) — The form of the style — the Lunar's stance steadies under the cumulative wear of an assault, and coordinated attacks fall to her with even greater ease. Surprising movements within the form land with doubled effect.
- Armor-Rending Claw Fist (Lunar Hero Style) — The Lunar attacks the armor itself rather than the body beneath; whatever wounding force remains tears at the armor's protection, leaving the foe more exposed for the next blow.
- Crouching Tiger Stance (Counterattack, Lunar Hero Style) — The Lunar's stance makes her harder to strike, and any blow she successfully parries earns a counter — a claw flicking out before the foe can withdraw.
- Den Mother Method (Counterattack, Lunar Hero Style) — The Lunar dashes to a packmate's side and shields them with her own agility — her defense lent to theirs for the duration of the moment.
Essence 3
- Unstoppable Lunar Wound — Every part of the blow that could wound, does wound — no glancing strikes, no half-landed cuts. The blow lands with the full weight of its intent.
- Burrowing Devil Strike (Fury-OK) — The blow becomes piercing — it slips between joints in armor, finds the seams in scaled hides, drives between ribs.
- Yeddim's-Back Method — The Lunar's effective strength for lifting doubles, and she may sustain the lift indefinitely — heavy stones held aloft, fallen pillars raised back into place, cargo borne on her back for hours without tiring.
- Wasp-Binding Method (Obvious) — The Lunar's grip becomes a cocoon of Essence; she steps back from the grapple while her victim remains bound in the threads of light, immobile until the cocoon fades.
- Jaws of the River Dragon — The Lunar's grip becomes unshakeable — the foe's next attempt to break free meets resistance well beyond what muscle should allow.
- Flesh-Tearing Entanglement (Crippling, Stackable) — Jaws of the River Dragon deepens — damaging clinches may now weaken the foe's body itself, reducing physical strength or agility, marring beauty, rendering a limb useless for the rest of the scene.
- Hibernation of the Dog — A blow that lands hard enough sends the foe into a stupor — they cannot recover from bruising or exhaustion for the rest of the scene, no matter how much they rest.
- Clay-Wetting Practice (Obvious, Touch) — For a scene, the Lunar's hands soften any one mundane object — wood becomes pliable as soaked leather, stone takes the impression of her fingers, iron yields like wet clay. She may reshape it into another object of similar mass and value while the softening holds. Magical materials are unmoved.
- Weapon-Shaping Method (Obvious) — Reflexively, any unowned object in reach reshapes itself into a mundane weapon of similar mass — a tavern chair becomes a club, a roof-tile becomes a knife, a broken cart-axle becomes a spear.
- Flowing Body Evasion (Obvious) — The Lunar dodges any single blow, even one that cannot ordinarily be dodged — a flaming arrow, a lightning-bolt, an attack that strikes everyone in an area. The dodge carries one of the Four Flaws of Invulnerability.
- Pack and Flock Guidance — Furious Hound Pursuit and Flight of the Sparrow deepen permanently to apply to a small group around the Lunar — the pack chases or flees together at her speed.
- Octopus and Spider Barrage (Obvious) — The Lunar attacks once with every limb capable of striking — four blows in human form, more in war form, each landing at her full skill.
- Fertile Breath Inversion (Fury-OK, Gift) — The Lunar may breathe whatever substance she chooses — water as easily as air, fire without burning, sand and grit and gas. The First Age Lunars used this Charm to dive into Kimberry, the Sea That Marched Against the Flame, and reach her burning heart.
- Unstoppable Juggernaut Incarnation (Stackable) — A blow that would lay the Lunar out — even a killing wound — is delayed; she remains on her feet and fighting until she chooses otherwise. Aggravated wounds still drop her in their own time.
- Luna's Fortitude (Fury-OK) — The Lunar pushes past unconsciousness or death itself for a moment — long enough to take one more action, strike one more blow, take one more step. Repeated channeling extends the borrowed time.
- Silver Lunar Resolution (Obvious) — The Lunar regains Essence by protecting a group under her care — a household, a war-band, a town — the motes flowing back to her by the hour for as long as she stands between them and harm. May be purchased multiple times to deepen the well.
- Durable Battle-Mind — The Lunar's fury lasts longer than it otherwise would — she may keep the rage burning past its natural end.
- Frenzied Bear Fortification (Fury-OK) — Each blow that wounds the Lunar makes her harder to wound further — pain hardens the flesh against the next strike. At greater Essence, the same hardening applies even to aggravated damage.
- Stone Rhino's Skin — The Lunar's skin briefly becomes as hard as the toughest armor she could carry; a single incoming blow rebounds from her as if she were stone.
- Scorpion and Toad Assumption (Obvious) — The Lunar may cure another of poison or disease by drawing it into her own body — a five-minute channeling that leaves her exposed to whatever she takes from them.
- Scorpion and Toad Immunity — Any poison or disease the Lunar has survived becomes permanently powerless against her. She may make exceptions by will — keeping the effects of alcohol or chosen drugs.
- Scorpion and Toad Mastery (Poison or Sickness) — The Lunar may reproduce any poison or disease she has experienced — channeling it into her own body, excreting it onto a weapon's edge, milking a sample into a vial for later use.
- Running Through the Herd (Counterattack, Lunar Hero Style) — The Lunar redirects an incoming attack onto another valid target nearby — a foe behind her takes the blow meant for her, or a packmate's enemy catches what would have struck her.
Essence 4
- Lightning Stroke Attack (Obvious) — The strike lands with such crushing strength that no parry and no dodge can turn it aside — it crosses the distance whether the foe sees it coming or not.
- Inviting the Winter Wolf — A successful damaging blow shatters or severs a limb. With significant effort of will, the crippling becomes impossible to mend by mundane means.
- Form-Destroying Touch (Obvious, Sickness, Touch) — The Lunar's touch infects her target with raw Wyld. The strike itself opens unsoakable wounds; the deeper consequence is a long-term Wyld disease that worsens with every full moon, adding fresh wounds and creeping mutations until cured by supernatural healing.
- Consumptive Worm Hungers — Burrowing Devil Strike deepens; the blow ignores armor entirely rather than slipping between its pieces.
- Cunning Porcupine Defense (Obvious) — The Lunar's anima manifests as a corona of silver needles around her body. Any foe who strikes her bare-handed cuts themselves on the needles; any who grapples her suffers worse.
- Lunar Blade Reconfiguration (Obvious) — An attuned moonsilver weapon becomes any other weapon of equal or lesser artifact rating in the Lunar's hand — sword to spear to bow to falchion — retaining moonsilver's enhancement. Magical functions tied to the previous shape do not carry across.
- Predator Distraction Method (Obvious, Lunar Hero Style) — A permanent deepening of Running Through the Herd; the Lunar may now redirect attacks aimed at others nearby, not only those aimed at herself.
- Coiled Serpent Strikes (Obvious, Lunar Hero Style) — Snake Body Technique deepens; the counter-redirection now reaches across distance, returning even ranged attacks to their sender.
- Mist-Walking Prana (Obvious, Wyld) — The Lunar steps into the Wyld and uses its shortcuts to travel — a few minutes of disorientation, and she emerges miles away in Creation, the distance scaling with the depth of the Wyld she risks crossing through. Up to a thousand miles in a single such crossing.
- Spreading the Wyld Roots (Obvious, Wyld) — Wyld magic lets the Lunar attack from multiple positions in the same instant — a foe surrounded by versions of her, each striking at the same heartbeat.
- Bear Sleep Technique — The Lunar enters indefinite hibernation, setting the conditions of her own awakening — a count of triggers scaling with her Essence. While she sleeps she does not age, does not breathe, requires no food or water; she may sleep for years and emerge unchanged.
- External Hide Perfection — The five (Directional) Mastery Charms deepen — they now also protect against the same effects deliberately weaponized against the Lunar, not only natural ones.
- Wound-Mastering Body Evolution (Obvious) — After the first cut from a particular blade or burn from a particular fire, the Lunar's body becomes immune to that category of harm for the rest of the scene.
- Invulnerable Moonsilver Carapace (Obvious) — The Lunar's skin secretes moonsilver in overlapping plates — a living armor against every kind of harm. Sustained at significant Essence cost; may be extended for as long as she chooses to hold the channel.
- Adder Fang Method (Gift, Poison) — The Lunar's Scorpion and Toad Mastery repertoire expands to include custom supernatural toxins of her own crafting. Notable: Luna's Spite (whitens corpses, silvers eyes); Chosen's Bane (devastating against Exalts); Closing Eye Toxin (slow-spreading sleep over a half-day); Night's Lure (active only under moonlight); Still Water Infusion (feels like drowning on dry land). Each must be learned individually.
- Cobra Eye Method (Obvious) — The Lunar produces acids from her palms or mouth, spitting or throwing them at range. Sample acids: Burning Tar (sticks and burns); Foe-Softening Discharge (weakens the body it touches); Soporific Nectar (fills its target with sleep until they collapse); Steel-Eater (barely scratches living flesh but devours weapons and armor as if they were paper).
- Terrible Wolverine Onslaught (Obvious, Lunar Hero Style) — The Lunar enters a ravening frenzy of speed and slashing — tripled movement, near-perfect accuracy, lethal cost to her own body in exchange. While the Charm holds she cannot stop attacking; she must throw herself at the foe again and again.
Essence 5
(No additional Full Moon Charms at this tier beyond what Knacks above provide.)
CHANGING MOON CASTE — Children of the Shifting Moon
Tricksters, diplomats, faces in the crowd. Charisma, Manipulation, and Appearance open to her. Heir to the lost Waxing, Half, and Waning Moon castes; the modern composite Caste's signature gift is the borrowed face.
Caste Anima Power: The Lunar may appear as someone known to her for the rest of the scene — the trust she has borrowed bending the world to lend its weight to whatever she attempts in the borrowed face.
Essence 1
- First Excellency (Universal) — The Lunar channels Essence to make herself substantially more proficient or capable at whatever she is currently doing. Available for any action she attempts.
- Hide of the Cunning Hunter — The Lunar's distinctive marks fade from sight — scars, brands, even moonsilver tattoos — while the Essence channel holds. Supernatural senses still pierce the concealment.
- Chattering Magpie Inflection (Social) — The Lunar speaks more cuttingly than a single conversation should allow, landing several social attacks where one would normally fit.
Essence 2
- Dog-Tongue Method — The Lunar speaks the tongues of animals — wolves, hawks, cats, snakes, fish, anything that breathes. They may be persuaded, charmed, threatened, or commanded as readily as people. With sharper senses she also understands their replies, the Charm known then as Dog-Ear Method. In animal form she also speaks the human languages she has learned.
- Rapid-Speech Technique (Social) — The Lunar speaks faster than a human throat should manage and lands many social attacks in the space of a single conversation, with no penalty for the haste.
- Secret Speech Method (Illusion, Social) — Selected listeners hear the Lunar's true social attack; everyone else in the room hears only innocuous chatter. A handful at most may share in the real exchange.
- Instinct Memory Insertion (Social) — The Lunar's words burn themselves into the listener's mind; they remember the information she imparts with unnatural clarity and exact detail.
- Perfect Fear Scent (Emotion, Social) — The Lunar exudes the scent of fear — a generalized dread or a specific terror, depending on her aim. Resistance takes significant will.
- Terrifying Lust Infliction (Emotion, Social) — The Lunar rouses lust, hunger, or craving in her target — for her, for someone else, for food or drink or oblivion. Resistance takes significant will.
- Face of the Moon Concealment (Social, War) — The Lunar may conceal a unit far larger than the size that could ordinarily hide — for purposes of concealment, the group reads as substantially smaller than it is, letting a war-band hide where only scouts ought to fit.
- Maintaining the Pack (Social, War) — The Lunar's unit refuses to break under loss — wounds that would shatter a smaller force are absorbed, the unit holding one critical step above collapse no matter how it is hammered.
- Herd Reinforcement Stance (Mandate, Social) — The Lunar plants an intimacy in a single target or whole social group — either an attachment to their native culture or to whatever culture they currently dwell in. Resistance costs them dearly.
- Forsaking the Blood Posture (Mandate, Social) — The reverse of Herd Reinforcement Stance — an intimacy against either their native or their adopted culture, planted in single targets or groups.
- Culling the Pride (Social) — The Lunar's social attack cuts through group loyalty — the target's bonds to their fellows do half as much to protect them from the compulsion as they otherwise would.
- False Burrow Pursuit (Illusion, Social) — The Lunar makes her target fixate on a detail of her choosing — a glance, a tone, a particular word, an object on the table — and trust it as the key to the conversation. Significant effort of will breaks the fixation.
- Mirror Sight Dismay (Illusion, Social) — The Lunar convinces her targets that one specific factual belief they hold is wrong — a particular date, a particular name, the location of a particular thing. Emotional attitudes resist the Charm; facts surrender to it.
- Mask of White Jade — The Lunar's face and bearing become impossible to read — every attempt to discern her motives, gauge her honesty, or trace her thoughts simply fails.
- Cat-Face Presentation (Social) — The Lunar conceals her intent to attack with words — the listener never sees the cut coming, and the social blow lands with the force of surprise.
- Labyrinth of the Beast (Social) — The Lunar briefly empties her mind to a simple animal awareness — no language, no consideration, no human thought. Mental influence finds nothing to grip. She remembers everything afterward.
- Butterfly Eyes Defense (Illusion) — The Lunar fakes a perfect defense; her foe believes the strike has been turned aside and acts accordingly, unaware they faced nothing at all. Sharp attention can see through the illusion.
- Butterfly Eyes Tread — The Lunar's footwork bewilders her opponent — they stumble at the wrong moment, plant their weight on the wrong foot, lose their balance where they should have kept it.
- Falling Leaf Distraction (Social) — The Lunar buries a social attack inside innocent small talk; the listener answers her real question before noticing she asked it.
- Perfection of the Mockingbird (Illusion) — Any imitation the Lunar performs becomes supernaturally deceptive — a borrowed voice, a copied gesture, a stranger's signature — perfect to all mundane senses.
- School Becomes Shark Method / School Becomes Shark Formation (Social, War) — An enemy unit perceives the Lunar's force as much larger than it actually is — a war-band reads as an army to whoever she has chosen to deceive.
- Creating the Wolf Attitude (Emotion, Mandate) — The Lunar induces fear in a social group large enough to form a crowd — the panic spreading from face to face faster than reasoning can catch it.
- Feeding the Bear Progression (Emotion, Mandate) — The Lunar induces craving or lust in a social group — a hungry murmur running through the crowd, growing as it spreads.
- Perfect Symmetry — The Lunar's Appearance weighs double on every social moment — those who would respond to her face respond harder, whether their response is to come closer or to step back. At deep Essence, no upper bound on the effect.
- One of the Herd (Illusion) — The Lunar becomes so unremarkable no one quite sees her — eyes slide past, memories of her presence dissolve, no one in the room can later say what she looked like. Significant effort of will pierces the blandness.
- New Friend Aroma (Social) — The Lunar's first meeting with a stranger leaves them convinced she is their friend — or their enemy, if she wishes — an intimacy planted before they have time to think. Effort of will rejects the planted feeling.
- Observed Predator Instinct (Illusion) — The Lunar's target receives the unshakeable conviction that she knows they are watching her — that she has already noted them, marked them, is watching them back with quiet care.
Essence 3
- Pack Instinct Affirmation (Touch) — The Lunar binds a loyal animal to herself as a true familiar — sharing Essence, feeling its hurts and joys, drawing it into the long bond of her life. The bond runs deeper when the animal matches her spirit shape. With Luna's Hidden Face known, even Wyld-mutated animals may be taken as familiars.
- Nature-Reinforcing Allocation (Obvious, Touch, Training) — Over a week of dedicated training, the Lunar endows an animal with one permanent improvement — greater strength, swiftness, hardiness, sharper senses, child-equivalent intelligence, a specific learned skill, the capacity to absorb more punishment, or the manifestation of a chosen mutation. One improvement per training cycle.
- Sharing the Gifts of Luna (Obvious) — The Lunar tears a piece of her own flesh away and feeds it to a follower or familiar. The recipient awakens to Essence — channeling at Essence 2, the level of a young Exalt — and may begin to learn Lunar Charms in turn, a true gift of Luna passed from chosen to chosen.
- Wolf Pack Training Technique (Mandate, Obvious, Touch, Training) — The Lunar trains a military unit through a week of drill, sharpening their discipline and improving one trait of her choice. Repeated weeks deepen the unit's edge further, up to a natural ceiling reached around the fourth week of training.
- Outworld-Forsaking Stance (Holy, Social, Obvious) — The Lunar becomes mentally and physically armored against creatures of darkness — their social manipulations slide off her, and her parries and dodges sharpen against their blows as well.
- Foe-Turning Rebuke (Compulsion, Holy, Obvious, Social) — The Lunar commands a creature of darkness to halt; they cannot approach her any further unless they break free with significant effort of will.
- Cobra Hypnotic Method (Obvious, Social) — The Lunar locks eyes with her target and they stop moving — held inactive, transfixed, for a span of moments. Significant effort of will breaks the spell.
- Forgetful Victim Prana (Social) — The Lunar wipes a short stretch of time from her targets' memories — whether a handful of individuals or an entire unit, the events of the last few moments simply do not exist for them when the Charm ends. Lesser effort of will recovers a single scene's worth of memory; greater effort recovers it permanently.
- Unnoticed Confusion Attack (Social) — The Lunar's social attack disappears from the victim's memory as soon as it lands — they remember the outcome, the new belief or intimacy, but not the moment it was placed in them.
- Subtle Silver Command (Compulsion, Social) — The Lunar plants one of her own Motivations, Intimacies, or Virtues into the mind of a target; they hold it as their own for a day, longer with reinforcement, until they fight free with significant effort of will.
- Mind-Blanking Fear Technique (Illusion, Social) — The Lunar removes a specific memory from her target's mind; they receive in its place an intimate certainty that the memory was a dream or a lie. Effort of will pierces the illusion for a scene.
- Hard-Nosed Denial Style (Social) — The Lunar refuses to be moved by a social attack and renders subsequent similar attempts harder to land. She holds her ground absolutely.
- Moonlight Curtain Drawn (Obvious, Social, War) — The Lunar's unit becomes effectively larger for purposes of defense — a small band reads as a war-band, a war-band as a host.
- Boundary-Marking Meditation (Mandate, Obvious) — The Lunar claims a tract of land as her own — many square miles, marked at the edges with sigils visible to Essence-sight as moonlit lines. Within the claim her authority weighs on every action others take, and she becomes uncannily wise about the land's matters.
- Lost Mirror Flight (Obvious, Social) — The Lunar inflicts a deep phobia or obsession on her target — an unreasoning terror of cats, a compulsion to count every doorway, an inability to look at fire without weeping. At greater Essence the affliction grows worse. Repeated efforts of will eventually exhaust it.
- Commanded to Fly (Counterattack, Social) — The Lunar accepts an unnatural compulsion placed on her — and then amends it with impossible conditions of her own, neutralizing the original command without rejecting it outright.
- Butterfly Eyes Fist (Compulsion) — The Lunar's movements confuse her foe so completely that she may dictate their next action in combat — they parry where she points, swing where she gestures, step where she wills. Significant effort of will throws the spell.
- School in the Reeds Technique (Social, War) — The Lunar's unit becomes uncommonly hard to find on a battlefield — even after they have been spotted, the surprise of their position reestablishes itself; the enemy's scouts fail, their pickets walk past, their officers cannot mark the position they had marked moments before.
- Glance-Oration Technique (Obvious) — The Lunar's body language carries the weight of full speech — a tilt of head, a curl of hand, a slow lowering of eyes can compose entire social attacks. The Charm reaches even things that cannot ordinarily be addressed — stones, rivers, slumbering dead.
- Irresistible Silver Spirit — The Lunar's social efforts land at near-perfect efficiency for the scene; fatigue cannot touch her so long as she pursues the objective she has declared. To break off early requires effort of will.
Essence 4
- Lesson of the Winter Wolf — Wolf Pack Training Technique deepens — the trained unit becomes proof against supernatural fear, holding ranks where lesser troops would break. The hardening does not apply against Exalted attackers.
- Scathing Lunar Condemnation (Compulsion, Holy, Obvious, Social) — The Lunar banishes a creature of darkness from her presence; only major effort of will can hold them in place, and even then they flee for the rest of the story.
- Charismatic Lunar Trick (Social) — What would have been ordinary mental influence becomes unnatural compulsion — the listener cannot simply choose to disagree; only effort of will breaks her hold.
- Topiary Culture Meditation (Mandate, Social, Compulsion) — The Lunar weakens an intimacy held by a group toward one of its policies — defending the belief costs them more loyalty, makes them more vulnerable to reasoned challenge.
- Herd-Strengthening Invocation (Social, Mandate) — The Lunar reinforces a unit's Virtue or Intimacy with the weight of her own conviction; the loyalty becomes harder to break.
- Mystic Butterfly Fraud (Illusion) — The Lunar convinces observers that an ordinary object has magical powers — a stick they will not touch, a stone they treat with reverence, a cup whose water they believe holy.
- Third-Veil Suggestion (Social) — The Lunar holds a private conversation with one listener while speaking publicly to a room — two separate exchanges, both perfectly heard by their intended audiences, the secret speech landing with extra weight.
- Clover Can't Be Found (Illusion) — The Lunar becomes invisible to anyone actively looking for her — she walks past her hunters at arm's length and they do not register her. Major effort of will catches a glimpse of her for a moment, no longer.
Essence 5
- Ranging Wolf Marking — Boundary-Marking Meditation deepens — the Lunar may claim territory in great sweeps, scores of square miles together, the bounds reaching across regions rather than only neighborhoods.
NO MOON CASTE — Children of the Hidden Moon
Savants, sorcerers, the long memory. Perception, Intelligence, and Wits open to her. The Lunar priesthood now sits in this Caste; the Crossroads Society is its sorcerous arm. The signature gift is the working — every spell, every artifact, every Wyld-binding.
Caste Anima Power: The Lunar's occult workings — Charms and spells alike — cost less Essence for the scene, and a quiet aura of shadow gathers about her, hiding her edges from clear sight.
Essence 1
- First Excellency (Universal) — The Lunar channels Essence to make herself substantially more proficient or capable at whatever she is currently doing. Available for any action she attempts.
- Eagle Eye Advantage — The Lunar takes careful aim with a ranged weapon — the action quickened by her focus, the shot sharpened beyond what mortal sight can manage.
- Wolf Eye Advantage — The Lunar ignores the usual costs of obscured sight or dulled sense for a single action — she sees through fog, smells past a perfumer's distraction, hears under the hammer-fall of a forge.
- Wolf Ear Advantage — Like Eagle Eye Advantage, but for prolonged listening and study — the Lunar absorbs every nuance of a long speech, every detail of a long-read scroll.
- Keen (Sense) Technique — three Charms, one per the sense-sets (sight, hearing, smell-and-taste). Each sharpens its sense well past mortal limits.
- Counting the Elephant's Wrinkles — The Lunar remembers anything she has learned or observed with perfect clarity — texts she has read, conversations she has overheard, faces she has glanced at in a crowd.
- Righteous Lion Defense — The Lunar's defense becomes perfect when she fights to protect something she has bound her heart to — a person, a place, a cause.
- Lodestone Reckoning Manner — The Lunar's sense of direction becomes perfect; she cannot be lost, and may retrace her path of the last day exactly. The Charm requires her to see the moon at least once each day to stay calibrated.
Essence 2
- Flaw-Finding Examination — The Lunar sees the weak points of a thing at a glance — the cracked beam holding up the roof, the rust beneath the lacquer, the fault in the blade. The seeing lets her repair the thing faster, or break it more decisively.
- Monkey Shaping Emulation — The Lunar copies the work of any craftsman she has observed — coins, letters, signets, signatures, brushwork — without the usual stumbling of imitation.
- Eye of the Cat (Fury-OK) — The Lunar notices what should not be noticeable — immaterial spirits crossing the room, perfectly invisible enemies, things hidden by magic that ordinary sight cannot reach.
- Instinctive Essence Prediction (Fury-OK) — The Lunar feels a Charm being activated nearby — she senses the shape of the magic, knows what category of working is being woven, recognizes the Essence-signature even before the effect lands.
- Sense-Borrowing Method (Touch) — The Lunar taps another creature's senses through touch — seeing what they see, hearing what they hear, smelling what they smell. Animals submit automatically; stronger creatures may resist. She may borrow from several at once.
- Inevitable Spoor Discovery — The Lunar detects the scent and Essence-residue of recent passage — a day's worth of trail at first, longer the more carefully she reads it.
- Diving Hawk Inspiration (War) — The Lunar's ranged strike guides her unit's volley — they target what she targets, their arrows finding seams in formation that ordinary archers could not exploit.
- Heightened (Sense) Method — three Charms. Each pushes a Keen sense further still — a hawk's sight, a wolf's nose, a serpent's hearing — and when the Lunar wears the matching animal form, the sense becomes effectively limitless.
- Blood-Kin Sense — The Lunar reads social ties off a stranger at a glance — at first only the deepest bond (a blood relative or a spouse), then with deeper channeling the next tier (a longtime friend or lover), then at the deepest channeling the most recent friend. At that same depth she may instead declare a specific named person and learn whether they matter to the target at all.
- Motive-Dissecting Eye (Fury-OK) — The Lunar reads her target — their driving motivation, their dominant virtue, a current intimacy, what they are about to do next. The reading takes only a breath.
- Leaf-Falling Scrutiny — Reading a target with predator's attention, the Lunar discerns the shape of their training — what they have mastered, what they could do if pressed, where they is skilled and where merely passable. Used against a crowd, picks out everyone in it carrying a chosen specialty (the swordmaster among the priests, the thief among the guests, the trained shaman among the laymen).
- Wyld-Sensing Instincts (Wyld) — The Lunar feels the Wyld through the soles of her feet — where it lies near, where it runs deep, where it has crept across the borders. She may guide herself and a small group through it safely.
- Resisting the Lure of Madness (Wyld) — The Lunar's mind cannot be shaken by Wyld exposure or addiction — and her presence shields companions traveling with her against the same dangers.
- Intimacy of the Hunter and the Prey — The Lunar plants a magical bond toward a hunt target — abandoning the hunt becomes unthinkable to her, and influence to give it up slides past her mind as if it had never been spoken. She may carry a limited number of such bonds at once, the cap rising with her Essence.
- True-to-the-Pack Dedication (Fury-OK) — The Lunar's loyalty to her pack — her Solar mate, her fellow Lunars, Luna herself — becomes impervious to influence that would turn her against them. She may mark a small group of others as pack for purposes of the Charm.
- Inevitable Genius Insight — The Lunar's research project deepens under her hand — fatigue cannot touch her, her thought sharpens past mortal limits, every avenue of inquiry produces results. Hard to break off once begun.
- Still Pond Infliction (Touch) — The Lunar dims a mortal target's emotions, desires, and virtues for a stretch of days — the touched person becomes flat, hollowed, unable to be fed upon by Fair Folk.
- The Spider's Trap Door (Illusion) — The Lunar conceals an object or place from mortal awareness — eyes pass over it, attention slides off it, no one in the room would notice if asked. With sustained Essence, the concealment becomes interactive, deceiving anyone who approaches.
- Thieving Magpie Prana — The Lunar conceals something faster than ordinary hands can manage — what would take minutes happens in seconds, the hiding completed before a witness can blink.
- Meerkat Alertness Practice — The Lunar acts well ahead of foes when conflict erupts — her draw is faster, her opening word lands first, her recognition of incoming violence ahead of theirs.
- Furious Unhappy Recourse (Counterattack) — The Lunar's counterattack lands with her full skill behind it, and the cumulative wear of the foe's prior assault fuels it further. The counter may disrupt an entire flurry of attacks rather than just one.
- Hungry Eagle Method (Counterattack) — The Lunar may counterattack any close-combat blow aimed at her, again and again, for a span of moments.
- Silver-Swift Retort (Social) — The Lunar's social counter lands faster than ordinary speech allows — interrupting, redirecting, answering before the original cut has fully formed.
- Wasp Sting Blur (Fury-OK) — The Lunar's action completes faster than the eye can follow — applied to thought rather than motion.
- Many-Armed Monkey Style (Obvious) — The Lunar takes a magical flurry of actions of any sort — opening doors, drawing weapons, mixing potions, striking foes — all completing in the breath of one normal action.
Essence 3
- Devil-Restraining Grip (Obvious) — The Lunar fixes her gaze on a perceived spirit and pins it in place — it cannot move beyond a short tether around its own position, and she may force it into the material world against its will.
- God-Cutting Essence (Obvious) — The Lunar's strike harms immaterial spirits as if they were flesh — gods and ghosts and demons bleed under her blade, and the wounds are aggravated.
- All-Encompassing Sorcerer's Sight — The Lunar's vision opens to the patterns of Essence itself — the flow of motes through the world, the spell-work knotted around a sorcerer, the bonds tying spirits to their domains.
- Watchful Spider Stance — Within territory the Lunar has claimed, she becomes aware of everything that happens — footsteps on her roads, voices in her villages, blades drawn in her woods.
- Blood on the Wind — The Lunar tracks her quarry indefinitely; once she has the trail, she never loses it — through rain, through running water, through hostile terrain, across years.
- Bird Falls from Flock Targeting (War) — The Lunar (or a unit she leads) may strike past an enemy's bodyguard formation to find their commander directly — even a solo Lunar may step into a unit and cut at the officer it shields.
- Fellow Hound Insight — The Lunar senses what kind of supernatural creatures stand within her reach — Exalted, gods, ghosts, fae, demons, all readable at a glance. The Charm fails in the deep Wyld, where categories themselves dissolve.
- Wyld Migration Formation — Resisting the Lure of Madness deepens — a larger group may travel under her protection, the shielding sufficient for sizeable parties crossing the borderlands.
- Terrestrial Circle Sorcery — The Lunar may cast Terrestrial Circle spells.
- Form-Fixing Method (Shaping) — The signature Charm of the Silver Pact — the Lunar inscribes moonsilver tattoos onto another Lunar's body, fixing their caste and binding their Exaltation against further mutation. Requires substantial craft and lore, and the Lunar herself must already wear the moonsilver.
- Harmony with Reality Technique (Obvious, Shaping, Touch, Wyld) — The Lunar takes a creature or object born of the Wyld and makes it real — naturalized to Creation, no longer dissolving into chaos at the borders. The thing still requires ongoing Essence to maintain its stability under Creation's laws.
- Many-Pockets Meditation (Touch) — The Lunar stashes objects into Elsewhere — a hidden pocket between realities that no thief can search, no guard can find. She may carry several items at once in this way.
- Rats in the Basement Style — The Lunar conceals an entire small group from notice — a war-band hidden in plain sight, an entire camp invisible to passing scouts.
- Serpent's Tooth Reply (Social) — When the Lunar deflects a social attack, the deflected force becomes her counter — every blocked attempt at influence rebounds as a fresh attempt at hers.
- Predator and Prey Recognition — The Lunar reads the local fauna at a glance — what is food, what is dangerous, what is rare and worth pursuing, all across a great sweep of countryside.
Essence 4
- Spirit-Maiming Essence Attack (Obvious) — The Lunar's strikes against spirits land deeper still, and any spirit she kills with the Charm dies permanently — no reincarnation, no return, no slow regathering from the Essence of the world.
- Predator Is Prey Mirror (Obvious) — The Lunar forces her target to see the world through her eyes instead of their own — they see themselves through her gaze, prey looking at prey, the floor tilting under their stance and their hands suddenly strange to them.
- Grandfather Spider Majesty — Watchful Spider Stance deepens — the territorial awareness becomes permanent, and reflexively rouses her at any condition she has declared important.
- Riding the Secret Wind — The Lunar's strike reaches her target through walls and cover so long as she knows where they are — the blow finds them around the corner, behind the door, beyond the screen.
- Eagle-Fish Transition Prophecy (Obvious, Wyld) — The Lunar undertakes a vision-quest in the Wyld for answers to specific questions; the more precisely she asks, the further into chaos she must travel, and the harder the seeking grows.
- Celestial Circle Sorcery — The Lunar may cast Celestial Circle spells.
- Ritual of Lunar Stability (Obvious, Shaping, Wyld) — The Lunar stabilizes a waypoint of Wyld — perhaps thirty miles of borderland — into a fixed reality the Fair Folk of lesser Essence cannot reshape. With major effort of will, the working becomes permanent, anchored in a small physical object.
- Lessons in the Blood — The Lunar tastes the blood of another and temporarily acquires their skills and selected memories — riding a stolen lifetime for an hour, a day, a stretch of time. May be used on a given person only once, ever.
- Burgeoning Wyld Infliction (Obvious, Shaping, Stackable, Touch) — The Lunar's touch triggers mutations in her target — the body twisting and re-forming under her hand, taking on new qualities. The target may, with effort, accept the change and make it permanent.
- Withdrawal of Assumptions (Holy, Obvious, Stackable, Touch) — The Lunar's touch drains Essence from a creature of darkness — leaving them weakened, smaller, less able to channel their nature. With deeper investment, the working may diminish their Essence permanently.
- Secure Den Prana — The Lunar steps into a small Elsewhere refuge — a place resembling her safest remembered home: a childhood lodge, a wilderness hollow, an old packstead. She may bring a few companions with her, each at additional cost.
- Blinking Eye of Chaos (Obvious, Wyld) — Wyld magic warps local time around the Lunar's foes — they crawl through tar while she moves twice in the same moment they manage one.
Essence 5
- Luna's Blessed Hands — Crafting moonsilver artifacts becomes permanently easier for the Lunar — the requirements of craft, lore, and occult lessening by a measurable degree.
- Invisible Warren Creation (Social, War) — Secure Den Prana deepens — the refuge grows large enough to shelter a small war-band, the hidden pocket sufficient for an entire unit.
