"You're getting better anon." Kronii muffled out, her mouth full of the Carbonara pasta you just cooked for dinner. You can't help but agree, you've actually become a better cook these past months.
It's been exactly 2 years since the Mistress of Time, Ouro Kronii, barged into your life like a wrecking ball. In that time you've learned and grown in leaps and bounds.
"Yeah, might need to cut down on the butter." You've been more self-correcting, a defense mechanism in the early days when Kronii was a crueler mistress than she was now.
Silence permeates the dining table, the two of you enjoying a simple meal, usually when dinner was done the two of you would watch movies using pirated streaming services.
"Hey anon, what do you think would have happened if I didn't show up in your life?" She asks that question slowly, testing the waters.
You look at her, wiping the sauce away from your mouth with a napkin. She has a curious look to her.
"Probably dead by 30." You say nonchalantly, as if that was an appropriate enough answer.
It wasn't an appropriate answer.
"A-Anon?" Kronii's face turns into a painful contortion of extreme concern, as if she had just set off a conversational landmine.
"No, no, no that's not what I mean." You wave your hands in front of you in a assuring gesture. She took your answer more seriously than it needed to be.
"I'm not suicidal or anything like that." You move your chair closer to hers, grasping her hands and rubbing them tenderly. You look at her with a slight smile, the look of worry still frozen on her face.
"It's just, because of the trajectory of my life back then, I probably would have done something really stupid." You pour out your feelings, you always berate yourself whenever you upset her.
"Did...I really change your life?" She says quietly, her azur eyes staring deep into you, a small frown marring the beauty of her face.
"Yes, you were the best thing that has ever happened to me." That was supposed to be a simple sentence, practiced and learned in rote.
You had no idea why you would start crying.
"Honey?!" Her eyes widen at your sudden emotional outburst, you yourself are surprised touching your eyes, rubbing your wet fingertips together in bewilderment.
You can barely contain it, you embrace her, tightly. Your plant your face on her shoulder. You don't want her to see you like this.
"Yeah." Your voice is cracking and wobbling. Your heart feels like it wants to give out.
"Hey Kronii, you know I love you right?" Why? Why were you being like this? There was nothing in your preceding conversation that should have triggered this intense emotional breakdown in you.
She's hugging you back, crying as well. Seeing you like this overwhelms her.
You pull back, the snot and phlegm forming makes you sound absolutely ugly. She wasn't doing any better either.
You place your forehead on hers, your hands cupping her face, her hands cupping yours.
"Don't leave me, please. I can't live without you, I'm a stupid retard otherwise." Your voice is throaty and gargling, like a frog talking.
"Anon...you idiot, I should be the one saying that. You're the only reason why I'm even here." This was it
Two people, man and woman. No more or less, crying like two autistic children over homemade carbonara pasta.
It's been exactly 2 years since the Mistress of Time, Ouro Kronii, saved your life.
No matter what happens.
You are hers.
Forever.
