Albums

Toto's discography comprises 13 studio albums as well as 4 live albums. There are also compilations. In addition to the release of original music, Toto has also done collaborations with other artists and on soundtracks for films. Toto has won numerous Grammy Awards for their work.

Before Toto was formed The members of the band performed session work for other musicians. David Paich, the son of session drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all performed on Boz Scaggsalbum from 1975 Silk Degrees. Toto was formed in the year 1976 following the collaboration.

Turn Back, Toto's third studio album was criticized by critics for the absence of hit singles. In 1985 the group's lead singer Fergie Fredericksen quit, and the band held auditions to find a new frontman. The band selected guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in 1986.

Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The band dug through old recordings and tapes to create the album. The album was well-loved by fans and Toto began a tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

In the course of the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun the drummer Leland Sklar departed from the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In the year 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included recordings from the tour and also an interview with the group.
