He told Pam Bondi at the DOJ, "No matter what you think of Pam Bondi," he flat out told her, "Do not release files." He was blocking everybody. >> It was all him
Because there's a huge narrative out there that it's all Pam Bondi's fault
That >> they want to make it Pam. >> One of the most politically explosive claims in the Epstein saga isn't coming from Democrats
It's coming from inside Trump's own movement, or at least members of that past movement
Because Marjgerie reformed Green, one of Trump's most loyal allies once upon a time, is saying something very direct and if true, could be devastating for the president
In a recent interview, Green said that Trump quote flat out told Attorney General Pam Bondi not to release the Epstein files. >> You're saying that to your knowledge, he was driving this bus
Trump drove the bus to suppress the Epstein files, according to what you witnessed
I I know he did and I don't I don't have any knowledge of him and Pam Bondi's personal conversations, but I know he was telling everyone not to release the files. >> And his his reasoning was is people are going to get hurt is what he said
He kept saying that people are going he was publicly saying it's a Democrat hoax
It's a Democrat hoax
You know, blah blah saying all this stuff and shaming people, but behind the scenes he was telling all of us
He was telling Mike Johnson
He's telling everybody, telling PM Bondi, people are going to get hurt
And who who he was talking about what he told me on the phone, our final conversation, uh, when he had really had it with me because I wouldn't take my name off the discharge petition
Good for you. >> And I and I was publicly saying over and over again, release Epstein files
He told me, he said, "My friends will get hurt." So he's talking about his friends
He told me, "People, you know, Marjorie, people at Mara Lago, they're going to get hurt." And I said, "People have already gotten hurt
There's over a thousand women that have been raped by Jeffrey Epstein and are accusing others >> and they've told the they've told the FBI, they've told the police, they have they've been they have been trying for years to get justice for this." >> I was like, "People already have been hurt." And I was trying to tell him I I see in my mind I still lived in this world of well surely we're going to find out what Bill Clinton did and Hillary Clinton went to the island too
What did she do
You know I was in that whole world of it was only Democrat bad guys that were guilty. >> Right
And and even the obscene victims themselves had said the ones that I had talked to now others have said differently but the ones I were was talking to said Donald Trump did nothing wrong
Their attorney told told me and said publicly Donald Trump actually helped uh convict Jeffrey Epstein
So and I was telling the president this
I was telling them the women are supporting you
Some of them even voted for you, Mr
President
right? >> Your attorney supports you
I said, "Please have them in the Oval Office and support them." I said, "You have everybody in the Oval Office
Everybody, >> right
Why can't you have them in?" But he flat out refused
And then every you saw it
Everybody saw how it unfolded. >> Now, full transparency, could this just be another of her recent claims to help flaunt her book to be in the future
Because we all know it's coming, perhaps
But the thing is the chances of us finding out whether or not it is true were giving a boost as it was just announced by the US Department of Justice's Office of the Inspector General Man that's a mouthful that they are launching an audit of the Justice Department's compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act
In a news released, the deputy inspector general William Bllier said, quote, "The preliminary objective of the internal inquiry is to evaluate the Justice Department's processes for identifying, redacting, and releasing records in its possession as required by the act. >> Learned today that the Justice Department's internal watchdog, the inspector general, is launching an investigation into the Justice Department's production of files and documents related to the Epstein case
specifically uh some of the redaction issues where there were allegedly overred redactions of men and underred redactions of victims or survivors
Um how much faith do you have that this inspector general will will be able to bring some accountability here? >> I think it's an important step
The role that inspector generals play for, you know, in our government is really important
That's why the gutting of some of these um inspector general offices last year by Doge and and the Trump administration were very disturbing
So, it's a great first step
I have no doubt that under Pam Bondi's leadership, the former attorney general, there has been a massive cover up under this White House at the direction of Donald Trump
That's why, you know, uh, as part of the oversight committee, as you know, there was a bipartisan subpoena to have Pam Bondi come forward and they have displayed just outright, uh, defiance of the law and this lawful subpoena
Pam Bondi and Todd Blanch uh came before us and tried to have this fake hearing with the oversight committee, closed doors, no media, no C-SPAN, you know, nothing was transcribed
And when we realized what a sham the whole thing was and this was their attempt to get out of the, you know, actual hearing an actual deposition, we all walked out
And um you know, our ranking member, Robert Garcia, and all of us as Democrats have said that we will hold Pam Bondi in contempt if she does not come forward
The hearing was supposed to be on the 14th of April and she is clearly trying to defy the law here. >> The review will look at the Justice Department's identification collection and production of responsive material as well as its guidance and processes for redacting and withholding material
And importantly, it's worth noting that they are looking at the processes for addressing post-release publication concerns
And neither of these stories bode well for the president, right
Because as we've seen countless times in the past, especially since he retook office, he wants to avoid talking about Ebstein by any means necessary. >> President Trump multiple time called the files a hoax
Uh the acting attorney general said Epstein shouldn't be a part of anything at the DOJ
If there are compromised government officials in those files, how can the public trust that this administration will hold anyone accountable when its own justice department is actively blocking the investigation
Given that, can you clearly articulate your stance on whether uh federal entities should have a formal investigation
Thank you. >> Yeah
So, so first of all, you you said the associate attorney general or something
I I haven't seen that quote, but here's here's look, here's my view on the Epstein matter
Number one, the guy was clearly a scumbag
Okay
Number two, he clearly had extraordinary connections both with intelligence services both inside the United States and outside the United States, and also with a lot of very wealthy and powerful people
Okay
Number three, I have been a firm advocate and will continue to be a firm advocate of where we where we have something and and and you know like I'm probably more obsessed with this than most most officials, okay
probably more obsessed with this than most people even in this room is when you see somebody who says something in an email that suggests, you know, there there's one email I read and it's been a little while ago, but it was talking about, you know, one person sent an email to Jeffrey Epstein saying, "Oh, there were some really nice like pizzas and grape sodas or something like that." And I remember it sounded like the Pizzagate conspiracy theory, but here it was in like an email from a guy
And my reaction to that was, "We should absolutely investigate that person
But it's not going anywhere
The ongoing pressure for full transparency was just given a new lease of life with this investigation. >> Going to happen next
You kind of get Pam Bonnie in here. >> Yeah. >> Oh, you know, the guy that's pulling the levers is now the guy in the hot seat, which is Todd Blanch
I don't think she was ever in the loop
When she released the binders full of nothingness, I don't think anybody told her it had nothingness in it. >> You might be more interested in talking to Mr
Blanch then as a committee
Oh, absolutely
Yeah
But and um he will eventually come to the judiciary committee
It's uh incumbent on the attorney general to show up at least once a year in front of the committee that I serve on
So I'm not on the oversight committee which is talking about doing behind closed doors interviews, depositions, but I am on the judiciary committee and I look forward to having Todd Blanch in front of us sometime this soon
I think it should be soon because he's now the attorney general and he's never been uh in front of the judiciary committee in that capacity. >> And prominent Democrats refuse to let Trump nor his appointees past or present off the hook without facing questions
Democrats have taken the recent news from the Justice Department to remind their Republican colleagues and the American people as a whole that a certain former attorney general whose job was literally to overseas said botched release flat out refused to testify which Democrat Robert Garcia has vowed that he will hold Pam Bondi in contempt. >> We have heard absolutely nothing
nothing from her, nothing from any of her legal representatives, nothing from the DOJ
So, she has left us no choice
She didn't show up to her scheduled deposition, which we have under law for her to actually come
The Republicans also agreed to that subpoena
They released it with Chairman Comr, and we've heard absolutely nothing from the AG
But what we do know is that half of the files have not been released
survivors have been of course as you know doxed and put in danger because their names and information have been put actually in the files that were supposed to be redacted and so there has been absolutely in this case a massive cover up that's been directed by the AG and she has not answered her questions so she must come under oath and stay tuned cuz imminently that contempt charge is going to be filed and we expect that process to go through and for her to show up in front of our committee
So despite Trump's ever shifting position on the files from it being a democratic hoax and then telling supporters not to focus on them whatsoever, it's not working right
There's a clear bipartisan push for transparency and rightfully so because at the root of this, these victims deserve justice
They deserve to know why this administration has wolffully mishandled these vital documents and why key members of the administration refused to testify
Especially Pam Bondi, right, who was so confident that the files were on her desk to be reviewed before then changing her tune and talking about the DAO when the subject matter involved the abuse of children before ultimately refusing to testify after being filed
So, if Marjorie Taylor Green's claims are accurate, that would mean the decision-making wasn't just bureaucratic
It was directed and the victims as well as the American people deserve to know why
