HYDRA A Hydra is a multi headed sea serpent (snake) that has the power of regeneration and deadly poison and is one of the most feared monsters in Greek mythology. The hydra has three heads, two of the heads are there to protect the middle (most important head). They are larger than any snake and are the size of a small island. The three snakes share two legs that have a total of three claws on each leg that are very sharp and can kill in an instant. They have long necks that make it easy for them to attack people and those long necks formed together to make a long and fat tail. The hydra had a horrible personality and was only meant to do one thing, kill and attack anything that came near it. The Hydra killed hundreds of innocent people. When It wasn’t attacking people it often slept in a swamp cave that was the entrance to the underworld. The hydra’s abilities included having poisonous blood and breath that could kill a person just by smelling it alone. It is also immortal and has an immortal head that sits between two mortal heads as they protect it. If a mortal head is cut off another will form in its place. The only way to kill the Hydra is to cut off its immortal head which is nearly impossible.

BASILISK The basilisk is known as the “serpent king” and it has the ability to kill with just a single glance alone. Basilisk is born from a union of serpents and roosters and is also known as a cockatrice. It is said to be one of the deadliest creatures and doesn’t take too well to humans. The basilisk body is patched together from pieces of a dragon, a serpent, and a cockerel. It has two depictions, the first is a cockerel’s flashy, feathered head and is supported by two spindly chicken legs. Dragon wings erupt from its shoulders, and a long serpentine tail completes its look. It’s said to be really small, only reaching 6- 12 inches. But the Basilisk is sometimes described as a giant snake, without the cockerel’s head or wings. Still, its movement is unlike other snakes. Rather than slithering with its stomach on the ground, it crawls forward with the front half of its body towering above the earth. Snake-like Basilisks usually are really ginormous. Some strengths of the creature is it is said to be able to kill in five ways and most of them don’t have the Basilisk doing anything itself. Just with one gaze alone you will be dead in seconds. The Basilisk breath is seen to be deadly and some even say it spits out fire. The Basilisk venom is another and deadliest thing about them because it can kill a person from a meter's distance. The monster can use its half-bird-half-reptilian hiss to madden, paralyze, or kill men. Lastely touching a Basilisk can just cause your death alone. The chimera does have weakness though. If you flash a mirror at it it would have no choice but to look at itself and just as its glance alone can kill other creatures it can also kill itself.

WYVERN The wyvern is the alternative for dragons, but they only have a pair of pack legs and wings. The Wyvern has the head of a dragon, and its forked tongue, scaly neck and leathery wings, but combines with these the two clawed feet of an eagle, and a long, serpentine tail which is often depicted as knotted, or twined upon itself. It’s said to have a venomous and violent temper. Just like the dragon it is hot tempered so they stick their tongues out for air. They were said to pollute wherever they were at the time. Wyverns have a series of powers such as superhuman strength, superhuman speed, superhuman durability, superhuman stamina, flight via wings, tail, claws and fangs, and flame breath. Wyverns have a bite strong enough to break through solid rock, they have indestructible teeth and can bite without ever letting go. They have an insatiable hunger.

BOOGEYMAN The Bogeyman is a type of mythic creature used by adults to frighten children into good behavior. Many of the Bogeymen are depicted as having claws, talons, and sharp teeth based off of typical fears. Some are even described to have certain animal features such as horns, hooves, and bug-like appearances. Bogeyman are there to just frighten children with punishments, and not actually inflict much damage. The more vicious Bogeyman is said to steal the children at night, and even eat them. Some Bogeyman are said to protect people and only punish those guilty, regardless of age. Their powers include Umbrakinesis and shapeshifting. Boogeymen are most known to hide under beds. Bogeymen have no specific appearance and conceptions vary drastically, but they are most commonly depicted as masculine or androgynous monsters. A way to get rid of a bogeyman is to destroy items that scare you and brightlight.

MEDUSA A fearsome monster with snakes as hair. They have the power to turn living things into stone. Stronger ones can turn anyone who simply looks at them into stone. They are roughly the same height, weight, and physical build as most hominids, except for their "hair," which is actually composed of snake-like appendages that can be used to bite opponents. Gorgons are capable of turning their foes to stone, although how they go about this has been shown to vary to some extent. Particularly powerful gorgons, like The Medusa of ancient Greek legend have been known to petrify victims with a single glance. Less powerful ones, such as Hitomi Ishigami must first "bite" an opponent with one of her snake-like appendages. Gorgons also have the standard superhuman strength and agility common of most Yōkai species. The species name "Medusa" is not the correct name of the species, the true name is "Gorgon". Some legends did not call Medusa or her elder Gorgon sisters beautiful, rather their "hideous looks" were what turned people to stone.

CHIMERA A monster appearing in Greek mythology, with the head of a lion, the body of a goat, and a serpent as its tail. Since then, any beast created by parts of various animals has become known as a "Chimera." As it is synthesized from different animals, its behavior is diverse and no one yet knows its true abilities. Leaving it a mystery by itself, their most greatest opponents being ghouls. It's said some could take on a vampire and win. Then again it's said that some could be seen losing to lower level monsters such as lamia's.

BAKENEKO Bakeneko possess great shape-shifting abilities and disguise themselves as smaller cats or humans—sometimes even taking the shape of their own masters. While in disguise, they are known to dress up as humans with towels wrapped around their heads. In this form, bakeneko dances around merrily. While this sounds frivolous and even cute, bakeneko are a menace to any house they live in or near. They can eat things that are much bigger than they are, and can even consume poisonous things without difficulty. They can summon fireballs and are known for starting house fires. Bakeneko are always up to no good. Besides shapeshifting they can manipulate the dead and possess humans. A bakeneko might resemble an ordinary cat, except walking about on two feet. Their weakness is of course water being feline. They are lazy and aren't a strong Yokai.

ROKUROKUBI By day, rokurokubi appear to be ordinary people. By night, however, their bodies sleep while their necks stretch to incredible lengths and roam around freely. Sometimes their heads attack small animals; sometimes they lick up lamp oil with their long tongues; and sometimes they just cause mischief by scaring nearby people. Unlike most yōkai which are born as monsters, rokurokubi and their close relatives nukekubi are former humans—transformed by a curse resulting from some evil or misdeed. Perhaps they sinned against the gods or nature, or perhaps they were unfaithful. Rokurokubi are less common than Nukekubi.

NUKEKUBI Nukekubi are female yōkai whose heads detach from their bodies at night to hunt and prey on human blood. Nukekubi are a variant type of rokurokubi. They are similar in most respects, except that a nukekubi’s head detaches itself completely from its body rather than elongating like a rokurokubi’s neck. Because their heads detach, they can travel further distances than the rokurokubi. Nukekubi possess a thirst for blood, and are more violent than rokurokubi. Their flying head sucks the blood of victims like a vampire. Nukekubi also brutally bite humans and animals to death. Uncured, this curse has the potential to tear a family apart, particularly due to its violent nature. Nukekubi are often much more violent than rokurokubi. It's said that if the body of the head is killed the head can never attach again or it will die completely as the soul leaves the body too.
