10 Things We Hate About Toto Asia

The Band Toto Asia

Toto was expanding its production facilities overseas and operating in France, Germany, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and the People's Republic of China. North America was seen as an opportunity to grow for toilets and bidet seats, in contrast to its "base" markets in Japan and China.

Dhaniram Toto recorded Toto words so that the next generation could read them. Many words were substituted with foreign ones. For instance, dui, which is Bengali for verandah, was being used.

Origins

Established in 1917, Toto's beginnings mirrored Japan's growth. In the beginning of its existence, the company made products to meet the demand for new, modern urban housing. To achieve this, it employed the first tunnel kiln in the country to produce ceramics in a continuous flow. It also pioneered automation for production control, which helps to increase efficiency and a more consistent production.

The company began expanding overseas in the late 1980s to benefit from new markets and sales opportunities. It established the Cera Trading Company, importing and distributing other products from other manufacturers to complement its own line of plumbing fittings and sanitary earthenware. This strategy boosted sales and increased the company's market share.

In the 1990s, Toto began to concentrate on research and development for water-related appliances. It also upgraded its distribution system to better meet the needs of its customers and increase profits. The company embraced a just-in time approach to supply chain management and applied the same method in its sales strategy. This led to a higher level of customer satisfaction.

Toto continues to invent toilet technology. Its latest toilet has an environmentally friendly, powerful tornado flush. The company uses recycled water for its manufacturing process, and has a green buying policy. Toto also produces faucets, bathtubs and hand dryers with greater energy efficiency than conventional models.

The first museum of the company was opened in 2015 It has exhibits on Toto's seminal products and their development as well as its group companies (all having to do with ceramics) and the historical background of plumbing and products like bath units and, in a different gallery, Toto products sold around the world. The museum even includes a bathroom with a WASHLET toilet and other toilet-related innovations.

Before the formation of Toto, members of the group performed session work for many musicians. Keyboardist David Paich, drummer Jeff Porcaro, and guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather all performed on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs. They also performed on albums by Steely Don, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.

Discography

It is common for a group with a name such as Asia to be a prog rock band, but it is actually a fairly straight forward rock band. The band started out as a quartet and recorded two albums: 1979's self-titled debut album, and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. But even though the band have a variety of musical backgrounds their biggest breakthrough came in 1982 with Toto IV.

The album was a major blockbuster, but not without issues. Record companies put the band on the position with the order "give us an album that is a success or we'll sack you" and the pressure was on to give it. Toto was able to achieve this through the aid of the hit song "Africa."

Toto's musical mastery owes a lot to their prior experience, as the band members had been session musicians for artists like Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, and Seals and Crofts before starting the group. Their sonic signature has since become the standard for pop music from the 1980s, and has influenced many contemporary artists.

The album begins with a hefty dose of hard rock with tracks like Running Out of Time and Unknown Soldier showcasing the bands ability to write fantastic AOR songs that slowly work their hooks into your. The album also contains more jazzy, slower tracks such as The Little Things and Chinatown. The album concludes with Great Expectations. This song is a mix of folk and distorted AOR that could appear completely unnatural, but actually is very effective.

After Toto IV, the band's fortunes started to plummet. David Hungate left to concentrate on his solo career and the band had to go through numerous drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball left the band following drug-related charges. The band continued with Michael Porcaro, Steve Lukather and Michael Porcaro.

Despite the turmoil, Toto forged ahead and released Isolation, which was not as successful as IV. The band was able to release an album that topped the charts, Kingdom of Desire, in 1992. This album marked the end of the original Toto lineup and was the first album to feature the new singer, Simon Phillips.

Line-up

Turn Back, the band's third studio album, was an ode to the classic sextet format, and an even more consistent and powerful album with a sharper edge. Its more punk-rock sound reflected the maturation of the group and included drummer Bobby Kimball's increased virtuosity on drums, and a more confident, mature vocal delivery from singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's keyboard work was as well more refined, more precise and less akin to earlier efforts.

After touring to promote the album, the band recorded a live concert in Amsterdam that was released as a two-CD set entitled Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records. The group released a new studio album just a few months after and embarked on a world tour support it. During this time keyboardist Greg Phillinganes replaced Paich and bassist David Hungate quit the group to spend time with his family.

In 1998, Paich & Lukather began exploring old tapes and demos to discover songs that hadn't been recorded before. It was completed as a double-album titled Then and Now in 2001. It was the first album by the band without the single track "A". The album also contained an previously unreleased track called "Kari-Anne".

By 토토사이트 모음 , Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth album, Old Is New was not a commercial success and vocalist Williams was suffering from laryngitis, which restricted his singing capabilities. Additionally, Hungate returned to Nashville and drummer Leland Sklar was replaced by Shem von Schroeck.

Downes, Wetton Palmer and Howe, the original members of Asia, met in England early in 2006 to discuss the possibility that the group could be reformed. This lineup, minus Howe who was occupied with Yes at the time, became Toto XIV. They toured extensively.

In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The band also had a special guest appearance from singer Michael McDonald and a backing vocalist named Mabvuto Carver.
