Momdyne
Part 1

…ris…
Kris…
Kris!
You suddenly feel a sharp pain erupt from the top of your head instantly bringing you back to reality from your sleep.
you rub your head in an attempt to soothe your now throbbing skull as your head swings around in a freshly awoken stupor, looking around for what just bonked you on the head.
Your eyes look up to meet black slits on yellow, as your mother glares at you in her police uniform, with her arms crossed and brows furrowed.
You silently remark on her obvious irritation as you stretch your arms out with a yawn and your fingers glide over jagged stripes of scar tissue as you rub your neck.
”Kris! If you don’t wake your ass up and get in the dang car you’re gonna be late for school and I’ll be late for work!”
You tell your mother you need to change first, as you’d really rather not have to go to school in your sleepwear again like last time.
Undyne narrows her eyes at you and you both have a mini staring contest for a moment before she blinks and sighs in frustration.
”Fine. Hurry the hell up and get dressed, but if I don’t see you outside in 5 minutes I’m dragging you outside, even if you’re in your damned undies!”
Before you can even nod your mother slams the door of your room, leaving you alone to open your dresser drawer and get ready for the day.
You change out of your sweatpants and tshirt in exchange for a pair of brown pants and your favorite baggy lime green and yellow sweater that was given to you by your grandpa/uncle Asgore.
You give yourself a quick look in the mirror before heading downstairs into the kitchen.
Pots, pans, and various cooking utensils/dishes lay about in a chaotic and messy manner, left overs from last nights dinner. Chicken noodle soup.
Mom never did finish deep frying the chicken before the stove caught fire again, so you just ordered some delivery from QC as always. Despite how many times she’d try, cooking was never Mom’s strong suit.

Part 2

You make your way into the living room from the kitchen.
The living room is similarly messy as well, but instead of kitchenware it's various items of work out gear sprawled throughout the place. You can barely walk 2 steps without almost tripping over a dumbbell.
The only area in the room that is devoid of exercise equipment, fish oil, or your own sweat is the grand piano stuck in the corner of the room.
You can’t help but softly smile as you approach the piano and open up the keyboard lid, As you glide your fingers over the spotless and white keyboard keys, various childhood memories of your mother teaching you how to play and gracefully guiding your tiny immature hands over the keys, showing you how to hit the correct notes in order.
Hard to believe that she was the same person who had just suplexed 3 bank robbers including their 3000 pound getaway car just an hour earlier.
You pop out of your reminiscence session and begin to speed walk through the living room (making sure too avoid tripping or stubbing your toe on the massive weights.) and out the front door.
Before you can even step off the porch you suddenly feel yourself being pulled by the ear.
You let off a single deadpan “Ow.” as Undyne drags you at a breakneck pace towards her police car.
”Don’t wanna hear it kiddo.” She opens the backdoor and throws you onto the seat with only a bit more tenderness than she would a criminal. “Now buckle up. There’s a ton of traffic, so the rides gonna be bumpy.”
You waste no time in sitting up and putting on your seat belt as Undyne reaches her hands under the police cruiser…
… and lifts the entire car up onto her shoulders before breaking out into a jog.

Part 3

”Y’know Kris…” She huffs out loud as you hang on for dear life while she sprints down the street.
”It’s a pretty nice day today.”
“Not too hot, not too cold.”
”Perfect for a nice 8 hour long workout!”
”Maybe we can do some teamwork outs when you get home from school! Just the two of us, like when you were a kid!”
”Dawww I can still remember it like it was yesterday, you lost to your friend Azzy in an arm wrestling match and you got so mad you trained with me for 4 months and then you dislocated his arm in a rematch! Toriel nearly ripped my head off after that one!”
You blush to yourself in embarrassment as Undyne laughs loud enough to wake the dead.
”Hmmm Speaking of Asgore’s kid… He’s coming home to visit from that college place or something in a week right? Asgore won’t shut up about it whenever I see him.”
”Wonder if that little shrimp has actually got some meat on his bones since he’s been away, probably not though Heh heh, The last time I saw him he was practically skin and bones!”
You look out the window and watch as the various houses in this tiny little town pass by in a blur before the familiar sights of the Hometown School begin to fill your view.
Undyne slows down before coming to a stop infront of the school before setting the vehicle down and letting Kris out.
”Righto hon. It’s been getting pretty quiet lately, so I should be off early to come pick you up. Then we can head home and do some rigorous DUO-TRAINING!” Undyne flexed one of her arms.
Kris nodded and began walking towards the front entrance of the school, but immediately after taking a single step he felt two muscular yet thin arms wrap around his arms and chest before hoisting him into the air.
”Have an ABSOLUTEY...”
Undyne squeezed her son close to her with the strength akin to a hydraulic press.
”FANTASTIC…
A couple of pops and cracks came from Kris’s body as he could feel his arms dislocating from his shoulder sockets as his mother hugged him.
”DAY AT SCHOOL!!!!!”

Part 4

You barely acknowledge the screaming pain from your joints as Undyne sets you down and pushes you towards the front doors of the school with a wave before picking up the car again and running back down the street.
As you head into the school you notice how empty the hallways are, You’re definitely late.
You make your way left and into the classroom.
Everyone stops what their doing and turns to you as you close the classroom door behind you.
Alphys stands hunched by her desk as always.
”Oh… Kris…! We thought you weren’t coming today!”
Her surprised look suddenly morphs into an awkward yet pleasant smile.
”Did your mother oversleep again?”
You don’t respond as you stare at Alphys with a blank look on your face.
”W-well I-I uh…” she stammers before clearing her throat.
”We’re doing group projects this month… So, Uh… walk around and find a partner, ok?”
You simply nod, and begin to walk around the classrooms…
...and as expected almost everyone you ask seems to already have a partner.
Even Temmie got herself someone this time.
You internally sigh to yourself as you move on to the only two people left in the classroom.
Berdly’s already smug smirk gets even more infuriatingly smug as you walk up to his desk.
”Ah, Kris. Late again, I see. Too busy working out to come to school?”
You open your mouth to speak but Berdly interrupts you.
”Hmm? You need a partner? Sorry, I’m already partners with the 2nd smartest student.”
You roll your eyes behind your bangs and move on to talk to Noelle but he stops you and smiles.
”Though… Wait! Kris, now that I think about it… Your strength and skill-set might help out a LOT on this assignment!”
You’re tempted to ask him to elaborate but you hold your tongue out of fear that he’s just-
”Pfft, NOT! I need someone with brains not some weirdo loner with meat for a brain!”
If you could roll your eyes harder they would go into the back of your head. You mentally curse Berdly before silently moving on to the deer girl next to you.
”Hey, Kris! What’s up? Didja accidentally break your pencil again? Here, you want the candy-cane one or the one with lights on it?”
You offer the antlered girl to be partners
”Huh? You want to be partners?”
You nod.
She rubs the back of her head nervously.
”Ummm… Sorry… Berdly already asked me…”
You frown a bit in disappointment. It seems like you’re going to be by yourself this time.
Luckily Noelle seems to pick up on your predicament.
”But I could ask Ms. Alphys if we could make a group of 3!”
”I’ll ask if you’re sure!”
You take a moment to think to yourself.
On the upside, you wouldn’t have to deal with taking on all the work by yourself, and you are working together with (and it kills you to say this.)two of the smartest kids in the room. But on the downside, You’re working together with Berdly.
You tell Noelle that you’ve decided to scan the classroom one more time before answering.
”Yeah, I’m sure there’s someone else you can ask!”
As you wander around you notice that Ms. Alphys is watching something on her phone.
On closer inspection it looks like Alphys is watching an episode of Mew Mew Kissy Cutie: A Mew Kitty Catastrophe.
You’ve already seen the entire thing from your weekend anime binges with your mother, but from Alphys’s enraptured look it seems like it’s her first watch.
A particularly evil idea sets in your mind, If Alphys has any objections with you grouping up with Berdly and Noelle… You could… oh you don’t know… start telling her what happens to Mew Mew’s childhood friend and sidekick Meow Meow in episode 59.
You smirk as you turn back to Noelle.
She noticeably perks up as you approach her again.
”So Kris? Do you wanna be partners?”
You nod.
Noelle raises her hand and calls out to the Alphys.
”Miss Alphys! Umm, Is it OK if we have a group of 3?”
Berdly almost falls out of his seat and your lizard teacher throws her phone up in surprise, it bouncing in her hands as she desperately tries to catch it.
”Hey! What? No! I do NOT approve this! ABORT!!!” Berdly exclaims in protest.
Noelle nervously tries to retort.
”What? B-but Kris doesn’t have a...”
Alphys finally gets a hold on her phone and breaths a sigh of relief before turning to the Noelle.
”Noelle, what were you saying?”
The girl in question tries to speak but is beaten to the punch by Berdly.
”She was just saying we’re FINE being alone!”
Noelle twiddles her thumbs together as she mutters.
”a-actually, i just wanted to know if...”
Alphys raises an eyebrow.
”Noelle, can you PLEASE SPEAK UP?”
Noelle takes a deep breath and tries to repeat what she said, but before she can get a word out the door slams open with a resounding CRASH, revealing a purple dragon with unkempt clothes and hair covering her eyes.

Part 5

Alphys eyes dart around in sudden fear as her voice drops down to a hoarse whisper.
”h... hi, susie...”
Susie takes two booming steps into the classroom before looking around.
The tension in the air almost made it hard to breath.
”... am I late?” she says without a care in the world.
Alphys sputters and rubs her hands together nervously.
”Ohh, n-no! You’re fine! W-we were just, uh...”
Alphys eyes dart around the classroom, as if she was trying to figure out what to say.
”Ch-choosing partners for the next group project, and...”
Her eyes lay on you and you desperately try with all your heart to force your will onto Alphys like in that one human movie with the laser swords and space magic.
‘Do NOT put me together with Susie.’
”Umm, Susie, you’re with Kris.”
You mentally exhale in dissapointment, looks like Alphys didn’t get the message. Looks like she’ll learn about Meow Meow’s accident in the hard, unsatisfying way. Written on the next homework paper.
The menacing dragon looks at you and back to Alphys
”... great”
Your teacher looks to you and back to the class before walking up to the chalkboard.
”N-Now that everyone’s here, I’ll write the assignment!”
She goes to grab a piece of chalk but is mildly confused when there’s nothing on the chalkboard rack.
She scans her desk and then the rack again, searching for a piece.
”Uh... H-has anyone seen the chalk?”
Silence fills the room.
”This is the third time it’s gone missing, and... Y-you all know I can’t start class without some!”
...
Alphys clears her throat and tries to speak in her most threatening voice she can muster.
”H-how about this? If no one speaks up... E-everyone gets in trouble!”
Her failure is apparent in the lack of confession from the class.
”A... Anyone?”
...
”P... please?”
Alphys’s face and voice get more strained as the silence goes on.

Part 6

Suddenly Noelle speaks up, saving the reptilian teacher from further embarrassment.
”Hey, there might be a box in the supply closet...”
Alphys face immediately brightens up upon hearing Noelle’s words.
Noelle face grows slightly red as she speaks up again.
”Miss Alphys, why don’t Susie and I...”
But she’s interrupted by a relieved Alphys.
”G-good idea, Noelle! Susie, s-since you came in last... Why don’t you go get it for me...?”
Susie looks at Alphys with a seemingly blank look as the lizard begins to sweat again.
”... whatever...”
Susie says nothing else as she exits the classroom with the slam of the door.
Your teacher breaths a sigh of relief as she turns to you.
”And K... Kris... Can you go with her and make sure s-she...”
She stutters.
”Um, actually gets it? And, um, stays out of trouble...?”
You don’t move before Alphys gives you a nervous smile.
”Thanks Kris! See you later!”
As you walk towards the classroom door you internally sigh for what seems like the millionth time today.
Before you can take your first step however, Noelle tugs at the back of your sweater before whispering to you
”Don’t worry, Kris! I’ve always thought Susie can’t be so bad, you know? I’m sure everything will turn out fine!”
Noelle looks at you sheepishly and hushes her voice even more.
”and, if you have time. could you say hi to her for me?”
Berdly chuckles as you pass by him.
”Kris, didn’t I SAY being late was a bad idea?”
He actually never said that...
”Hmm, it looks like you should have... LISTENED?”
His face morphs into the dumbass smug smirk he tends to do.
”Now, Now Kris don’t fret... If Susie tries to hurt you, you can go crying to your mom! That could work hmm?”
Your eyes DO roll into the back of your head as you finally walk away from a chuckling Berdly and out the classroom door.

Part 7

As you close the door behind you you spot Susie just ahead of you.
You watch as she brings a small white piece of chalk out of her pocket, No doubt it’s one of Alphys you think to yourself.
She brings the chalk to her mouth before opening her large jaws and chomping on the white piece.
She turns around and notices you standing behind her.
Though she seems completely unfazed by your spying.
”Kris... ...Didn’t see ya there.”
She turns around with her back towards you.
”... hey.”
”You didn’t see anything just now, did you?”
You think that the best option is to probably stay silent for now.
After a couple of seconds she looks to the ceiling and hums to herself.
”... you can’t even say?”
She turns to face you.
”Kris...”
As she begins to walk towards you, you can’t help but instinctively take a step back until your back is close to the lockers behind you.
You mentally curse, If your mother was here, she’d be screaming your head off about acting like a coward.
Susie stops just infront of you.
”Hey.”
”Let me tell you a secret.”
...
”Quiet people piss me o- Huh?”
Susie tries to push you into the locker but you hold your ground and stay put.
She tries to push again with a bit more effort behind it, yet you don’t move a bit.
”Why aren’t you...”
The dragoness makes an attempt with both hands this time, but it’s as if you’re a two-ton boulder.
Her face grows more strained with each attempt to get you to move, not even trying to push you into the lockers specifically anymore.
And with each attempt she’s met with frustration as you stay frozen in place.
Your mind wanders back to your mom’s ‘teachings’ if you could call them that.

She easily blocks your wooden stick attack with her own.
”Keep your gaurd up! Give em an inch and you give them a centimeter!”
You tell your mom that’s not how that saying goes, but your talk back earns you a bonk on the head.

Part 8

A roar brings ends your flashback as you look at Susie.
Sweat is starting to appear on her forehead as she pants out of breath.
It seems like all her struggling has tired her out a bit.
’Y’know she might seem intimidating and brutish but she’s actually not really in shape.’ You tell yourself.
She grunts in frustration before pulling her fist back.
”See if you can still stand still after THIS!” she yells at you as her fists shoots foward towards your general direction and you stand ready (Luckily it’s not heading towards your face.)
Her fist collides with your shoulder and once again, you barely move if at all.
Susie takes a step back and a short amount of time passes before she starts holding her the hand she had just punched you with her other hand.
Looks like your defense worked.
”Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow!” Susie exclaims as she starts shaking her hand in the air, as if trying to wave off the pain.
”That fricken HURT you FREAK!” she cries out.
You want to say that she was the one who decided to punched you but you decide to stay silent and simply stare at her.
She grits her teeth before groaning in frustration as she turns around and starts walking down the hallway towards the storage closet.
”L-Lets just get Alphys’s stupid chalk! But because of YOUR DUMBASS my hand is all hurt, so don’t expect me to do any of the work on the project. Freak.”
You somewhat knew from the beginning that you were going to have to do all the work from the start, but maybe you could still black mail Alphys into giving you a better grade for some breathing room.

Part 9

You begin making your way down the school halls in an attempt to catch up with Susie.
As you turn you’re surprised to find her actually waiting for you as you walk up to her.
She scoffs at you in irritation.
”God, can you walk any slower, or what?”
You don’t respond to the rhetorical question.
”Nah, I get it. Not used to walking around without your mom carrying you around?”
You think that’s hardly fair of her to say that, since that was only one time and you were heavily protesting the entire way.
She chuckles to herself and resumes her walking.
”C’mon ‘Gills’.”
Her obviously derogatory nickname grinds at your nerves and you have half the mind to say something, but you’d rather not start another fight.
You both come up to the school storage closet, and susie gives you a toothy smirk.
”Well, here’s the closet. Too bad... We were just starting to have ‘fun’.”
You roll your eyes and turn on the door knob before pushing the door open.
The entire hallway seems to darken as the door gives way to pure, pitch, black darkness.
Susie takes a step or two back and you can see her eyes look around nervously, a cold sweat begins to drop down her cheek.
”Hey, Kris, is it me or...”
She gulps.
”I-Is it REALLY dark in there?”
You stare at her for a moment, and are tempted make a sarcastic remark about her being afraid of a bit of darkness but you push the words back down your throat.
”Q-quit staring a-at me like that!”
You don’t say anything and enter the closet.
Nothing in the closet could be more dangerous than your mother on a bad day, and you’ve had to deal with plenty of those yourself.
”HEY! Don’t leave me here!” Susie calls out to you as she scrambles to follow you into the closet as well.

Part 10

You look for the switch on the sides of the door, but you only feel wall, so you make your way further in with Susie in tow behind you.
As you try to feel your way through the closet you remark on how spacious it is, you’ve taken a couple of steps and have yet to encounter the back wall.
Susie seems to have picked up on it as well.
”Uhhh... is it me or is this kinda big for a closet? You’d think we’d have reached the end by now...”
You continue walking forward and you feel yourself become more and more cautious with every step.
Susie puts a hand on your shoulder behind you and you almost instinctively shoulder throw her on the floor.
”Hey, Kris.” Susie’s voice has a hint of fear in it as she tries to speak as calmly as possible.
”I think this closet’s, uh... Broken.”
She gives you a nervous grin.
”There aren’t any walls.”
She stretches sarcastically and turns around.
”Well, we’ve worked hard enough.”
The dragoness begins walking back towards the closet door.
”If Alphys wants chalk so bad, she can get it herself. Let’s split.”
You turn to follow her, but you can’t help but feel like something is wrong, so you make sure to keep your gaurd up.
You and Susie walk back, and eventually the light from the entrance of the closet grows closer and closer.
But when she nears the light, the door slams shut in her face and she jumps in surprise.
”Wh-what the...!?”
Her face morphs from surprise to desperate anger as she bangs on the door with her fist...
”Hey, this isn’t funny! LET US OUT!”
”LET US-”
Susie doesn’t finish as the floor tremors.
”?”
’Earthquake?’ you think to yourself as you tighten your gaurd, meanwhile on the other hand Susie hobbles around trying to keep her balance.
’No...’ you correct yourself right as Susie yells.
”The floor, it’s...!”
The floor beneath you crumbles, and you both fall into the dark unknown depths below.
