"Let me tell you about the time I fought in the great method war... It started in 2017. At first, it started as simple smack talk to Roux and ZZ users.. But as time went on... it got worse... Over the next two years, debates, half-thought out YouTube videos, and pointless insults became standard. Then Jay posted a video on ZZ... That truly was a terrible day for us... Then Kian posted and we had a big laugh. Even in war, people can still find laughter. But early 2018... that was when... I lost my hand... That was the day I vowed to git gud at OH. But sadly, I never would be faster than Chip... But, as a wise man once said, "You can't always get what you want. But, if you try sometimes, you just might find, you get what you need." The war does seem to be letting up. I'm glad. I fought the good fight. I wasn't able to fight to the end, but I did my duty. I wish luck to the men and women on the front lines of Reddit, SS, and Discord. May you think clearly in all of your debates."

Chapter 1: Jay's Assault
It was a quiet evening in the UK as PapaSmurf sipped his GANTM tea, brewed by steeping crushed up X and 354 pieces in boiling DNM. The cubes were bad, but the flavor they had was surprisingly delicious. The sun was lazily drifting below the horizon and everything was winding down, the peaceful night quickly approaching.
Or so he thought.
Just as he was finishing up reading the daily newspaper (new ZZ users up 20% from last month!), there was a pounding on the door. Curious as to who would be knocking like that at that hour, he cautiously got up and walked to the door. His hand hovered over the handle, and just before he opened it, a voice called out.
"Papa, open up! It's me, Wombat! I know you're in there! Let me in!" yelled Wombat's familiar voice.
Papa opened the door, surprised to see his friend, and wombat rushed in.
"Well, I sure wasn't expecting that! What brings you here? What's all the urgency about? Run out of Maru lu-" he stopped when he saw the shaken look on Wombat's face. Not answering him, Wombat stumbled straight to the kitchen and started throwing open cabinets and drawers.
"Where do you keep the good stuff? I could really use some right about now." he demanded.
"Wombat, what's going on? What happened" Papa asked.
Wombat ignored him and kept rooting around before he found what he was looking for: a big bottle of Traxxas 50k. He quickly unscrewed the cap and downed a quarter of the bottle before walking to the living room and sitting on the couch. Papa followed and sat next to him.
"You ready to talk now?' he asked.
"Papa. It's Jay," Wombat said. "He made a video. About ZZ." He took another swig of the 50k.
"Well that's fantastic!" Papa replied. "With someone that well known and respected giving exposure to the method, we'll get tons of new me-"
"No, you don't understand, Papa," Wombat replied. He pulled out his phone and opened YouTube. The video loaded, and the title showed.

zz is objectively and measurably worse than CFOP

"They're launching an attack on ZZ. They're trying to end the big three," said Wombat.
Papa gulped, then took the bottle from Wombat, downing half of the remaining liquid.
His face hardened.
"If Jay and the rest of the CFOPers are going to launch an attack on ZZ like this, then we have no choice but to fight back."

2 hours later
Papa and Wombat had assembled a list of all the ZZers they knew, and had written a message to them. Jay may not have known what he had just started, but he had started it nonetheless, and now things were about to be set in motion. In the letter, Papa had not only informed them of the threat to their method that Jay was, but they had also made a call to action. If a was had just started, after all, they needed an army.

Hi guys, it's me speedcubr123 and today we have a review of the speedcube! This is a speedcube, which means it's good for cubing with speed. I thought it was too speedy, so I lubed it with honey, now it's just a cube. I like the cube, but sometimes I like the cube, it's a speedcube, I cube... the cube weighs 120 grams, it's a speedcube. I like $20 dollars I like speedcube, this is speedcubr123 and you are watching the speedcube, of speedcube, I think I used too much honey, now it's just a speedcube. I put a little weight 10 in the speedcube, now it weights 140 grams, I think Iused too much honey, now it's just a cube, a speedcube, this has been the speedcubr123 review of speedcube, it's a speedcube, I speedcube on speedcube, I think I used too much honey, now it's just cube, I think I'm a speedcuber, this has been speedcubr123, and the speedcube is a speedcube, I think I used too much honey, now it's just a cube, I think I used too much weight 10, the speedcube is now 500 grams, it's a speedcube, speedcubr123, I think I used too much cube, it's just honey now, this has been speedcubr123, I like the speedcube, it's a speedcube, I like to cube on the speedcube, I think I used too much honey, it's just a speedcube now, I am speedcubr123, and you are watching a review, of speedcube, I think I think I think I think this has been speedcubr123, and this is speedcubr123, and I think I think this has been too much speedcube, it's just, I think, speedcubr123, and this has been speedcubr123, like speedcube, it's honey. I think speedcube is honey now, I think honey, too much honey, speedcube. Too much. I think it's time to wipe out the speedcube and clean it out with some paper towel, now I'm too much honey, I think it's time for speedcube, I lubed it with Angstrom Dignitas and traxxas 50k, I think this is a great cube for the price. I think, it's a speedcube, this has been speedcubr123, and this is time for the speedcube. Honey. Honey. Honey. Honey. Honey. Honey. Honey. Honey.

I was timing myself at lunch today, and I was about to get a PB. And then someone from my class came and turned my computer off, making my cube pop so severly that i almost lost the spring and had to replace the core. Also, he was saying that ZZ was just plain bad on the SS Discord earlier today. I was so mad I poured half his Traxxas 50k bottle on him.< A teacher said "STOP PLAYING WITH YOUR CUBIC BLOCKS!!" Naturally, I responded with "90% of the people in this cafeteria have <60 iq myself included". Angry, he was dangerously close to beating me and I didn't like it. All of the teachers had planned to target me, and they pointed at me, all of them rushed to me, hit me in the stomach, and my cube got dragged. This weird tall kid who came out of nowhere using this meme method showed up, and told me to follow him. He asked me what the Big Three was. Of course, I said the best method is a threeway tie between ZZ, Roux and LEOR. He told me that I was wrong and it was just LEOR, or big two if you do ZBRoux when SB is sexy. "Why do roux when you can just quit using roux in the middle of the solve," he added. He told me his name was luri or something then he tossed me a WRm. We were interrupted by a loud chanting outside of "luri oo" and the sounds of people trying to break in, and a pungent odor of #ccff00 wafted in. luri applied DNM to himself then squeezed up into the vents, disappearing forever. Right after first turns, my brand new WRM fell out of my pocket and bounced down the stairs. After I cried, I decided to keep turning even though half the mags were probably gone. I am still turning the WRm now and even though my fingers are bleeding I can't stop (blood is a very nice lube though). My only sustenance is Traxxas 50k now. The only two things I feel anymore are pain and the pleasure of turning the WRm endlessly. I now average 3.46 but I am too busy turning the cube to go to a comp, or even get off the floor.

"the method wars seem to be near the end... we fought well." Wombat told.
"We did soldier." Papa replied.
"I didn't fight to the end, but I'm happy I'm here to see it." Wombat said.
"You retired, it's alright." Papa answered.

You would not believe your eyes
If ten million fireflies
Lit up the world as I fell asleep
'Cause they fill the open air
And leave teardrops everywhere
You'd think me rude but I would just stand and stare
I'd like to make myself believe that planet earth turns slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep
'Cause everything is never as it seems
'Cause I'd get a thousand hugs
From ten thousand lightning bugs
As they tried to teach me how to dance
A foxtrot above my head
A sock hop beneath my bed
A disco ball is just hanging by a thread (thread, thread)
I'd like to make myself believe that planet earth turns slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep
'Cause everything is never as it seems (when I fall asleep)
Leave my door open just a crack
Please take me away from here
'Cause I feel like such an insomniac
Please take me away from here
Why do I tire of counting sheep
Please take me away from here
When I'm far too tired to fall asleep
To ten million fireflies
I'm weird cause I hate goodbyes
I got misty eyes as they said farewell (said farewell)
But I'll know where several are
If my dreams get real bizarre
'Cause I saved a few and I keep them in a jar (jar, jar)
I'd like to make myself believe that planet earth turns slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep
'Cause everything is never as it seems (when I fall asleep)
I'd like to make myself believe that planet earth turns slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep
'Cause everything is never as it seems (when I fall asleep)

Warm Up, 5-10 minutes: Casual solves and alg learning.

Technique, 10 minutes: Alg drilling using proper finger tricks, and finger trick in general.

Method (ZZ) based practice, 30 minutes (10 each, or more on weaker areas):
F2L Focus (finger tricks, efficiency, solutions)
EOCross Focus (finger tricks, efficiency, solutions)
Transitions between steps (LL recog, lookahead)

Inspection practice, 15 minutes:
Untimed, pushing inspection further.
Timed, getting faster at what you can already do.

End of practice:
Solving session, Ao12 at the very least. Ao50-100 preferred.

IMPORTANT: Keep a log of what you practice, time statistics, and time spent practicing. This will help you remember what you're working on, as well as things you may need to review.

Condensed:
"5m warm up casual solves
10m alg review/drill

15m method practice (alternate between F2L, EOCross, LL drilling, inspection)

30m session (at least an ao25, preferably an ao50)

and that could be like the skill day or something, where other days you do a 200 session (long run) esq
and that plan would only take an hour" - gen

Anything comments on this?

Everybody currently online please gather around the campfire
I've wanted to get this announcement out to people sooner, but it's taken longer than expected to finalize everything due to the holiday season (the awful air pollution where I live certainly hasn't helped either)

Anyways, something I've had in the making for nearly a year, which I've been teasing here and there but have yet to announce, is that I'm so mad. I was timing myself at lunch today, and I was about to get a PB. And then someone from my class came and turned my computer off. I was so mad I poured half his water bottle on him.

He told me his name was luri or something then he tossed me a WRm. He was about to give me some epic cubing knowledge when there was suddenly a loud chanting outside of the words "luri " and the sounds of people trying to break down the door. I also started to smell the pungent odor of CCFF00 for some reason. Anyways, luri applied DNM to himself and then squeezed up into the vents, disappearing forever. I decided to try the WRm and
honest and unbiased WRm review break
"iuri's WRM is "
"Wrm table needs to happen"
"i've heard online that wrm is not good in black"
"imagine getting cubes not named the wrm"
"Wrm is god cube"
"wrm is good cause it's stable enough for f2b but M slice is good enough for lsw"
"wrm is life"
end review
my brand new WRM fell out of my pocket and bounced down the stairs. After I stopped crying, I decided to keep turning even though half the mags were probably gone (GTS3WRLLM) and I couldn't stop. I am still turning the WRm to this day and even though my fingers are bleeding I can't stop (blood is a very nice lube though). My only sustenance is Traxxas 50k (it's way better than Traxxas 1k, 2k, 3k, 4k, 5k, 6k, 7k, 8k, 9k, 10k, 11k, 12k, 13k, 14k, 15k, 16k, 17k, 18k, 19k, 20k, 21k, 22k, 23k, 24k, 25k, 26k, 27k, 28k, 29k, 30k, 31k, 32k, 33k, 34k, 35k, 36k, 37k, 38k, 39k, 40k, 41k, 42k, 43k, 44k, 45k, 46k, 47k, 48k, 49k, and 50k. I'm not sure about 0k though). The only two things I feel anymore are pain and the pleasure of turning the WRm endlessly. I have broken thousands of WRs with the WRm and my ao50000 is 3.46 but I am too busy turning the cube to go to a comp, or even get up off the floor.

Welcome to the first ZMS debate. I am your moderator, @nishuzz (2018BYRN02).

rs3 is good

We are joined tonight by @nishuzz (2018BYRN02) and @nishuzz (2018BYRN02).

and @zz will be real in 5 minutes

First question.
@nishus, you recently said that the gan XS is a bad cube. Can you explain your statements?

Well, first of all @nishus, thanks for moderating this debate tonight. Now look, here's the deal. GAN has been around since before I started cubing. I remember my first cube, the Rubik's brand, and it was quite clunky and awkward. Now, we have so many different cubes out there, many people are choosing different cubes, uh, to main. Now I don't see GAN people or MoYu people, I see cubers. I think it's not about the XS being good or bad, it's about coming together, and solving the cubes fast. I yield my time.

ok this is too exhausting

This concludes the first debate.
I would like to thank our sponsor, Jayden McNeill, and also discord for providing the venue.

I had a nightmare
In my nightmare, Papasmurf posted a video called "ZZ is not that great anymore" and in that videi, he said that CFOP right now is so much faster and we should all switch to it. He also said that he is deleting ZMS.At the end of the video, there was a very loud earrape of Monsters Inc. theme song playing while screenshots of debates on ZMS were shown.

Edgeworth: Using actual solves will never show a methods actual move count
Phoenix: it is literally the only way to show a methods actual movecount
Edgeworth: It's not.
Phoenix: actual solves = actual movecount
Edgeworth: A method's movecount should be due to the method, not the error of the humans.
Edgeworth: Of course you factor in some humanity. So you don't use move optimal algs.
Ema: hm, I really don't want people to think that the theoretical movecounts are what people actually get in solves
Apollo: Then what is the movecount without errors
von Karma: What any one cuber gets in a solve is completely irrelevant to the methods movecount.
von Karma: Theoretical movecounts are what matter.
Phoenix: theoretical movecounts only matter if an actual human can get them in a Edgeworth: But ZZ definitely doesn't average 57.
Edgeworth: I do but I should improve.
von Karma: The best user of a methods skill level shouldn't determine the effectiveness of said method.
Edgeworth: This.
Ema: If we get some big averages by radmac, dale and maybe hyeon, would that be enough data for ZZ movecount?
Edgeworth: No.
von Karma: No
Edgeworth: Because ZZ averages 50-55 moves.
von Karma: We know for a fact that EOCross is 9~ moves, each pair is 7 and ZBLL is 16,5.
Ema: I mean they might average 50-55 moves
Phoenix: dale averages like 65 moves but his tps is just insane
Ema: okay just get an ao1000 by radmac or something
Edgeworth: Again, no.
Edgeworth: That won't give the movecount of ZZ, it will give the movecount of RadMac using ZZ.
von Karma: Actual solves are irrelevant.
Edgeworth: You always give the best case scenario given a set of constraints. They normally include possible for humans and mean for each step.
Ema: Would it at least be good for an upper bound?
Edgeworth: Yes, it would.
von Karma: Sure, but 70 stm is just as good as an upper bound.
Edgeworth: If we couldn't run HARCS analysis to find EOCross movecount (for example), solves would be important.
Edgeworth: But we don't need to because HARCS exists.
Ema: but like how do you want to persuade cfop users with theoretical movecounts?
Ema: aren't they also the people who believe cfop is best because it currently is best in practice, i.e. world rankings?
von Karma: You can't fight ignorance with more ignorance.
Phoenix: its not ignorance?!??
von Karma: Yes it is.
Ema: hm, so basically recon statistics are useless except for the person who did the solves?
Edgeworth: It kinda is.
von Karma: Believing that CFOP is best because it's used in a lot of top 100 ao5 is absolutely ignorance.
Apollo: There are legitimate reasons to choose cfop
von Karma: Yes, exactly.
Ema: oof
Edgeworth: They're useful for improvement and for showing others way to improve.
Edgeworth: So I realised that I should get better PLL recog.
von Karma: Sure, if you suck at inspection and don't want to learn 200+ algs, CFOP is a decent option,
von Karma: still worse than Roux though.
Phoenix: they're extremely useful in demonstrating what the method is actually capable of doing
Phoenix: if a method has a theoretical movecount of 45, but literally every solver averages 55-65
Phoenix: then MAYBE it doesn't average 45
Edgeworth: I agree that they're useful for showing potential,
Edgeworth: but they aren't useful for showing lack of potential.
Apollo: Yea also I agree with gen
von Karma: No, that just means that all the solvers using the method suck.
Ema: why would they be useful for anyone other than the solver, I could only imagine something like splits which isn't the most useful thing ever
Edgeworth: You can see tricks that they use or examine their solutions for (in a ZZ context) EOCross.
Ema: but there's harcs
Ema: why do we need human solutions if we can use optimal computer solutions
Edgeworth: You can also use HARCS.
von Karma: Human solutions are useful for tracking personal progress and finding the weakspots in your solves,
von Karma: if you see that you're using a shitty pair solution in a recon you know that you need to switch it out.
Edgeworth: Although HARCS doesn't account for fingertricks/lookahead.
Ema: Yes, but I'm specifically referring to everyone except for the solver themselves
von Karma: For everyone except the solver themselves recons are useless.
zakimoshi29.11.2020
Apollo: Not completely
Phoenix: no
von Karma: Actually I guess it could show other users of the method better solutions for certain cases.
Apollo: Why is this in oh
von Karma: No idea.
Phoenix: we were talking about oh recons
Edgeworth: I accidentally pinged in OH.
Ema: Recons are super useful, just not good for objective movecount stuff.
Ema: yeah but if we assume that computer solvers are like human solvers but optimal, we'd only need computers since it's better and less effort for us humans
von Karma: Sure, you're right
von Karma: recons are completely useless, stop using them.
Phoenix: recons are useful in showing other people what they can realistically get with a method
Phoenix: theoretical movecounts are cool, and show something to strive for, but aren't realistic representations of what people can get with a method
Edgeworth: I disagree. It depends on the method.
Edgeworth: For example, optimal blocks won't be achieved any time soon.
Apollo: In roux?
Phoenix: zz i think
Edgeworth: ZZ.
Edgeworth: Speed optimal EOCross F2L though is already known (just above 7 for every pair).
Edgeworth: Similar story with Roux, although they're pretty close on FB.
Apollo: I don't think it's that high
Apollo: Do you take into account influencing
Edgeworth: It is with fixed order.
Edgeworth: So we can say 7 instead of 7.25 per pair.
von Karma: Fuck... I just accidentally closed the HARCS session.

Hey guys i want to wish you all a merry christmas. Discord is full of copypasted christmas messages, that people don't even read and just forward to other servers. I don't like that. I like to write what i deeply wish and what comes from my heart. Our friendships, from the most deep ones to the most virtual ones are very important and will never be represented by a simple message copied from elsewhere. This being said I would like to thank all of you. You are the best hockey team i've ever played with. A big hug, John.

raven: oh u use an offbeat method? name every non cfop solver ever
RedstoneTim: there's none because we all use cfop.
zb is cfop so cfce is too and in fact any LSLL variant of cfop is cfop.
jayden said zz with eocross is cfop, so it's true. because zz with eocross is zz and zz with eoline is also zz, cfop = zz.
petrus is just bad cfop. many new people have told me this, so it's true. you just do freefop and do zz which is also cfop and then cfop.
roux is just zz because zz-ghost, so it's cfop.
leor is cfop because it's just bad petrus which is just bad cfop.
mehta is just bad leor so it's also cfop.
corners first is just roux but without blocks so cfop.
the only method that isn't cfop is hexagonal francisco
Do I actually love unsubscribes?
Believe it or not, I do
Now, why do I love unsubscribes? Why would anybody love unsubscribes?!?!?
Sure, I could have a bigger number on the screen when I log into AWeber, and maybe it'd give me a slightly stronger dopamine hit
But, for me personally, I'm OK with a smaller audience, because it means I'm separating the grateful from the freebie seekers...
The action takers from the excuse makers....
I only want the former on my list. The latter folk need not stick around, y'all can find another home with any of the other various YouCubers
I'm not here to be everyone's cup of tea...

After forty years hidden in a secret cave, I am now back to share with the world my cube findings that I have discovered.
I went into exile with only a cube and the knowledge of Petrus.
I have spent years studying the sacred method and have learned every possible pattern, trick and algorithm.
I have now returned and seen the changes in the cubing community and the new methods that have been created in my absence.
And now, in front of you I stand and speak, so that you may be enlightened by the secrets revealed to me:
Everything is Petrus Every method, every step, every algorithm your kind has created is just Petrus.
To open your eyes, I shall demonstrate you:
CFOP is not special. The cross and its pairs are the expansion of the inefficient beginner's approach to right block by fixing
the D edges and brainlessly solving the rest in pairs, the XCross is simplified Petrus blockbuilding, the last layer is only
an inferior Petrus last layer dumbed down to two steps.
Roux is not special. The first block is a simplified 2x2x3 for those incapable of solving the middle edges, the second block
is a simplified right block for those incapable of orienting edges, the CMLL algorithm set is simplified ZBLL for those lacking
memory, the EO step is simplified for those incapable of orienting edges 3-gen, the final edge permutation step is, too,
only simplified for those who still believe in trash 2-gen reduction being viable.
ZZ is not special. The EO step is the first solely because the solvers lack the competence to both recognize EO off by a y
and to use F moves. The F2L is either CFOP's or Petrus' blockbuilding, but dumbed down. Only the last layer remains the same.
LEOR is not special. It's literally just a different dumbed down way to build EO223, duh.
LBL is not special. It's dumbed down CFOP, aka simplified Petrus.
Waterman is not special. It's a combination of LBL and Roux, but simplified to replace much of the blockbuilding by
algorithms for those who have the brain capacity of a parrot.
Corners First is not special. It's Waterman, but the algorithms and last remnants of blockbuilding are replaced by inefficient
slice moves for those who lack any form of thinking.
Mehta is not special. It's Petrus, but the perfected blockbuilding step is replaced by brainless algorithm spam for the
impatient TPS kiddies.
Hexagonal Francisco is not special. It's Mehta, but with a first-solved block even worse than Mehta's already horrible one.
I have now spilt my truths and will withdraw below a stone to once again drain the cube of its last secret.
I will return in another forty years.
I hope you will have learned your lesson by then.
