Pan-gay Flag
A pansexual-gay (or, pan-gay) person is somebody who uses both labels pansexual and gay to describe their identity and lived experience.
People may identify as pansexual gay for a variety of reasons, including (but not limited to):
- A Pansexual/Panromantic individual who has a stronger attraction to non-men/men or their relationships and attraction are centered around non-women/men. (individuals who prioritize their attraction to non-women/men.)
- A Pansexual/Panromantic individual who prefers men/non-women.
- An individual whose attraction is broad, but their relationships are centered on men/non-women.
It is not a contradictory label, nor does it invalidate pansexuals and gays. Labels can be layered because identity is layered.
ALL queer identities are valid; Nobody owes anyone a "simple" label. If "pansexual gay" is the most truthful way to describe your experience, then that is reason enough. People forget that sexual orientation labels are descriptive, not prescriptive. Many people experience attraction in ways that don't fit neatly into one single box, so they combine terms to express something more accurate.
