Cadence — Terms of Service

By adding Cadence to your Discord server or using any of its features, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use Cadence.

1. What Cadence does

Cadence is a Discord bot that automatically posts a random track from your Spotify playlists to a configured channel, on a schedule you define. It is operated by a solo independent developer ("we", "us", or "the developer").

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use Cadence. By using Cadence, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

You must also comply with Discord's Terms of Service and Spotify's Terms of Use. Cadence is not affiliated with Discord or Spotify.

3. The free trial

New servers receive a 7-day free trial with full access to all features. The trial starts the first time an administrator runs /setup on a server that has not previously had a subscription. Each server is entitled to one trial, and trials are non-transferable and non-extendable.

4. Subscriptions and payments

Subscriptions are sold at $4.99 USD per month through Ko-fi. Payments are processed by Ko-fi; we do not handle payment data directly.

Subscriptions are per server. One Ko-fi subscription entitles one Discord server to full access.
Billing is monthly. Ko-fi will charge you automatically on each billing cycle.
You may cancel at any time from your Ko-fi account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; there are no partial refunds for unused time.
If a payment lapses or fails, Cadence will stop posting on the affected server and notify the configured channel. Service resumes automatically when a valid payment is received.

No refunds. All sales are final. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we will investigate.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use Cadence to post content that violates Discord's Terms of Service, Spotify's Terms of Use, or any applicable law.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, abuse, or disrupt Cadence or its infrastructure.
Misrepresent your affiliation with Cadence or the developer.
Use Cadence in a way that places excessive or unreasonable load on third-party APIs.

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently ban any server or user that violates these rules, without notice and without refund.

6. Service availability

Cadence is provided as-is. We make no guarantees about uptime, availability, or uninterrupted service. Cadence depends on third-party services (Cloudflare Workers, Discord API, Spotify API, Ko-fi) that may have their own outages or policy changes beyond our control.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue Cadence at any time. If we decide to shut down Cadence permanently, we will provide at least 14 days' notice in our support server and will stop billing immediately.

7. Intellectual property

Cadence and its source code are the intellectual property of the developer. You may not copy, resell, or redistribute Cadence or any substantial part of it without prior written permission.

All Spotify content posted by Cadence belongs to Spotify and the respective rights holders. We do not claim ownership of any music, artwork, or metadata retrieved from Spotify.

8. Data we store

Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details. In summary, we store only what is strictly necessary to run the service: your server's configuration (channel ID, playlist IDs, posting schedule, message template, optional bot branding) and subscription linkage (Ko-fi email, Discord user ID, guild ID, payment timestamps).

We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Cadence — including but not limited to missed posts, data loss, or revenue loss. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 30 days preceding the claim.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service at any time. We will announce material changes in our support server. Continued use of Cadence after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
