Cole is a reoccuring trainer in the Pokémon series. He appears in Pokémon Black and White and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet as an NPC. He specializes in the Fire type.

In the core series games

Cole first debuts in the core series game Pokémon Black and White as an NPC in the Desert Resort, asking the player to accompany him in a non-required sidequest in exchange for 2 Dream Mist. Cole is the only character in the game who allows you to obtain Dream Mist as an item.
If the player had completed the side quest, Cole will reappear outside a building in Route 18 to give the player a Larvesta Egg, replacing the usual NPC who gives the Egg to the player. However, if the player had denied the sidequest or hadn't completed it, the Egg-giver will remain the normal Pokémon Ranger NPC instead of Cole.

Personality

Cole's first appearance in Pokémon Black and White paints him to be a highly ambitious character, his main problem being his boredom. Although this very boredom is what motivates him to look for a Larvesta with the player, therefore spawning the side-quest in the first place, that fact is brushed off as a temporary emptiness that he needed to fill. Cole exhibits cynical traits.
