marticles in other languages

— written by mati ★; translated by my friends and other people — artigos em português | articles in english

this is a page for translations of my articles into languages other than portuguese or english, which my friends have offered to do for me. if you're one of these friends — or just someone who likes reading my stuff, and would like more people to read it — and you want to translate an article yourself, just contact me on any social media where you have me added, and we'll talk about it from there. i like to be involved in translating my stuff, so if you need help with translating a joke, or a technical term or anything like that, i'll be happy to help as much as i can (even if i don't speak your language).

style considerations if you're translating

if your language has a case distinction (small and capital letters), everything is in lowercase, because that's how the originals are written. this does not apply if you're writing in a caseless script — any occasional latin-script words will have normal capitalization (caps for proper names, no caps for common words) in that case, except for my name, which is written ⟨mati⟩ with a small ⟨m⟩.

if your language has a grammatical gender distinction with masculine and feminine, references to me are in the feminine. i go by both feminine and masculine genders in gendered languages like my own native portuguese, but in my articles i consistently use the feminine (you'll see in the portuguese page that i say that i'm a 'the (f.)' mati, for example).
