Introduction
The SC: Evo Complete - House Special Map Tool (henceforth the "SC: Evo Map Tool" or just "map tool") allows players to use a workaround to Blizzard's arcade map upload restrictions, allowing them to enjoy the latest version of SC: Evo Complete within certain restrictions

Switching Maps
- Make sure you have installed the latest version, as instructed above.
- Run
EvoHouseSpecial_v[#].exe
. - Select a language on the language selection menu.
- Click the "Switch Maps" button.
- A list of installed maps will appear. Select one of the radio buttons and click "Confirm" to switch maps.
- Please do not do this while in the middle of a game. If an error occurs, try to log-out or close the game.
- Most users should have no issues leaving the StarCraft II game client open while switching maps, so long as they are not in the middle of a game.
- The map-selection window remains open after switching, so you can keep it open and switch maps again later. This is convenient when playing several different maps in a row.
Hosting a Lobby:
- Open the StarCraft II game client and log-in to the Americas server. (Map Tool release versions can only be played on the Americas server.)
- Go to Custom > Arcade and search for "House Special Map", or use the map link:
battlenet:://starcraft/map/1/342626
. - Create the lobby with your choice of server.
- You can now invite other users who have loaded the correct map. If you want to invite someone who does not have the files, please send them this webpage.
- Configure the correct settings for each of the players (shown below in the Lobby Settings section) before starting the game.
Joining a Lobby:
- Ask the host which map they have hosted, then follow the Switching Maps instructions above to load the same map as the host.
- Try to join the lobby, or ask the host for an invite.
- If you are unable to join, it means you do not have the correct map files loaded. Log out or close the game, then try to install and/or switch maps again.
- Let the host know whether you want to play as BW or SC2. Only the host of the lobby can adjust this setting.
Lobby Settings
You should be aware of the following settings:
- Teams: This should be changed to "Free For All" for 1v1 games. For 2v2 games, you can set this to "3 Teams" and move players to Team 2 as needed.
- Player Attribute 1: This sets the game for each player: 1 for BW, 2 for SC2, and 3 for Random. Non-host players cannot change this value. The lobby host must change it for them.
- Game Attribute 1: This should ALWAYS be set to 1, and is 1 by default. Do not change this.
- Spectators: There is a limit of two (2) spectators.
- Player Count: Please be aware of the player limit for the map you have chosen. Any players exceeding the player count for the map will be eliminated immediately.
