The Buried Book by CapAmarav
Beneath the worn stones in the ruins The Book of the Ancient of Days Is buried with care from the weather Eroding the lonely pathways Disuse is the word that describes it The book and the old stones alike But I am come digging for treasure I'll find it, and read it, tonight.
In hard packed dirt under the tiles This Book of Beginning and End Lies yellowing under the heather Its cover's in dire need of mend I've traveled well over a mile To prove these majestic old tales They're valuable beyond measure The words of this book will not fail.
Still digging through rubble and wreckage I find little clues to the spot And like an invisible tether I'm drawn to the trail that's been wrought I pause and rest on my endeavor But still the path, onward it calls No time to stop for work or leisure Or to be distracted by thought.
