What is transblood?

Transblood, also commonly called transamia, is a term for those who feel like their blood should be different in some way. This can be for those who feel like they should have a different blood type, a blood disease, stagnant blood, no blood, or any other way that one's blood identity does not correlate with what is observed by others.

The term was originally coined by Lucifer on June 13th, 2022, posted by angel2049 with the following flag:

A flag with four stripes that drip into each other like liquid. The top stripe is red, the second is pastel red, the third is pastel pink, and the fourth is black.

What is xenoblood?

Xenoblood, also commonly called xenoamia, is a term for those who feel like their blood should be different in a way that isn't in the realm of a condition or a bloodtype, and doesn't relate to typical terminology surrounding blood. This can include wanting blood made of something non-blood related, blood that is a different color, blood that glows, scented blood, boiling blood, and frozen blood, among many other experiences. The possibilities are truly endless!

The term has been in use virtually since the coining of transamia, though a flag was not created until July 11th, 2023, by transblood-hub.

A flag with four stripes that drip into each other like liquid. The top stripe is purple, the second is pastel indigo, the third is pastel cyan, and the fourth is a cool green.

What is fictiblood?

Fictiblood, also called fictiamia, is an umbrella term for those whose blood identity comes from a fictional source. Most often, this means that one's blood is made up of a fictional substance, but can also be used for other reasons, such as wanting a fictional blood disease or wanting a bloodtype specific to a series' universe.

The biggest proponent of fictiblood terms comes from Homestuck, both due to the popularity of the series and the importance of blood classes within the Homestuck universe.

The term was coined by transblood-hub on March 30th, 2024.

A flag with four stripes that drip heavily into each other. The top stripe is a dark purple-ish mauve, the second stripe is mauve, the third stripe is pink, and the bottom stripe is white.

Alternative Terms

There are a few alternative terms to transblood out there, with differing stances on radqueer & transid discourse.

Alderblood

Alderblood is a term under the aldernic umbrella. Aldernic is a term for those who feel like their body should be different in some way and is heavily connected to the MOGAI community. The term is inclusive of terms like altersex, alterhuman, and aldernic terms synonymous with transbody terms. Though the term is not inherently anti-transid and anti-radqueer, those who coin aldernic terms typically are. The original aldernic coining post can be found here.

Alderblood was coined by donniesbf on or before December 31st, 2022, as "An aldernic identity where you have, or wish to have, different blood. Whether you would like it to be a different color, consistency, or something else altogether."

A flag with seven stripes. The top and bottoms stripes are light red, the second and sixth stripes are red, the third and fifth stripes are dark red, and the center stripe is very dark red. In the center of the flag, there is a large blood red diamond with a bright red border.

Desirblood

Desirblood is a term under the desirdae umbrella. Desirdae is another anti-radqueer and anti-transid alternative to transids, coined with a wider definition than dissomei for those with differing experiences. This term is explicitly against "harmful" transition, but is okay with "non-harmful" transition, such as those who are desirhaircolor dyeing their hair to achieve their desired hair color. The original desirdae coining post can be found here.

Desirblood terms were being created shortly after the creation of the term, as early as October of 2024, though did not recieve a full coining. Flags for the term were created by casinocoinz on April 26th, 2025.

Flag 1 Flag 2
A flag with fourteen stripes. From top to bottom, they are red, lighter red, light red, yellow orange, light yellow orange, yellow, light yellow, light cool green, cool green, light blue, blue, light warm purple, warm purple, and a darker warm purple. The light-colored stripes are all thinner than the darker stripes. The top and bottom stripes have a lacy wave to them. There is a semi-transparent dotted white line going across the center of the flag. In the center of the flag, there is a semi-transparent desirdae symbol with three cuts going across it. The same flag, but without the lacy stripes.

Dissoblood

Dissoblood is a term under the dissomei/dissodic umbrella (previously known as arissomei/arissodic). Dissomei is meant to be an explicitly anti-transid and anti-radqueer alternative to transids, including controversial ones, such as transabled, but not including one's that are deeply controversial, such as transharmful. It says that transition should never happen if you use this label and implies that one should stay shameful of the disconnect between their body and mind to avoid "fetishization." Even so, it includes terms that have nearly no controversy around transition, such as arissodiet or arissoname. The term is meant to cater to those with BIID/BID, psychosis, atypical dysphoria, and those who are plural, so long as they are anti-transid and anti-radqueer. The original arissomei coining post can be found here.

Arissoblood/Dissoblood was coined by acetrappolaswife on December 16th, 2023, as "An Arissomei/Arissodic term that refers to a disconnect a person feels towards their blood due to a multitude of factors, this can be delusional or IRL attachments, being an alter that blood differs from the body, psychosis, etc. This is not a for "fun" label or a voluntary "I wanna be this ✨️✨️✨️", this also doesn't override external blood and is to merely acknowledge the disconnect."

Flag 1 Flag 2
A flag with seven wavy stripes. The top and bottoms stripes are dark red, the second and sixth stripes are pastel red, the third and fifth stripes are a fleshy pink, and the center stripe is pastel pink. The topmost three stripes have several drips coming out of them. In the center of the flag, there is a red brain symbol with a blood red blood drop overtop of it. The same flag, but without the symbol.

Novumblood

Novumblood is a term under the novumid umbrella. Novumid is a niche term that is similar to transid and xenoid terms for those who have dysphoria surrounding any part of them. The term is pro-transid. The original novumid coining post can be found here.

Novumblood was coined by novumid on December 30th, 2023, as "when you feel you should have something other than blood in your veins." Flags were created by novumid on February 17th, 2024.

Flag 1 Flag 2
A flag with nine stripes. The top stripe is pink, the second stripe is light pink, and the third stripe is pastel pink. The fourth and sixth stripes are both white, and the center stripe is light purple. The seventh stripe is pastel blue , the eighth stripe is light blue, and the ninth stripe is a slightly darker blue. The center stripe is much thicker than the other stripes. There is a light purple circle in the center of the flag, and inside the circle, there is a simplistic blood bag drawing. A flag with nine stripes. The top and bottom stripes are dark red, the second and eighth stripes are a slightly lighter red, the third and seventh stripes are red, the fourth and sixth stripes are the same red as the second and eighth stripes, and the center stripe is dark red. The center stripe is much thicker than the other stripes. There is a dark red circle in the center of the flag, and inside the circle, there is a simplistic blood bag drawing.

X-blooded

X-blooded is a LIOM and alterhuman term for those who have the blood of something. The coiner describes it as "when one has the blood / dna of [x] running through their veins. this may be a form of alterhumanity , however , the user may interpret it however they want." This term is considered to be a gender system by some, but is typically used in the context of alterhumanity or as an alternative for transblood labels. One who is x-blooded, though, may see their identity as being innate, rather than something implying transition.

X-blooded was coined by rwuffles on May 8th, 2024. The transamia version of this term is transblooded.

A flag with five mirrored stripes. From top to center, they are light blue, pastel blue, and pale yellow. The stripes have a bumpy texture spreading outwards, and as such, the top and bottom stripes appear the thinnest. In the center of the flag, there is an orange helix symbol outlined in bright blue, then once more in pale yellow.
