True colors of "Team Fortress 2 Classic" administration
Hello. I am bigmazi, the creator of Custom Weapons: Classic mod.
In case you are not familiar with the mod yet:
- Information page: https://rentry.co/cwc_motd
- Discord server: https://dsc.gg/cwclassic
- GameBanana page: https://gamebanana.com/mods/307880
Though this page is not about the mod per se. It exists to contain my public defence against personal attacks, blatant disrespect and vile slander which I am a victim of and which TF2C administration is directly involved into.
This message was originally posted on CW:Classic Discord server on 20 October 2022 (https://dsc.gg/cwclassic, #what-happened
channel), now it's additionally available on this page (that is https://rentry.co/tf2c_true_colors) for convenience reasons.
The beginning of the story takes place in the June of 2022.
Everything below is the exact copy of the original message.
20 October 2022, The Message
I'm tired. All those questions about my relationship with TF2C personnel I've received during these four months... eventually they made me ask myself: why am I even making my ex-friends a favor and hiding their crimes before those who seek for a genuine answer from me? The last time I've seen yet another "why aren't you on TF2C Discord" I've finally decided to give a proper response - once and for everyone.
Alright.
This. This is my message on TF2C Discord server. Let's play a little game. Try to come up with a context by yourself: what was the problem, who the message is addressed to, what is the purpose of the message etc.; no need for something long, just make a three-sentences-long story, that'll do for our little game.
Now's the challenge. Given your assumption on what happened, guess, what the official reaction to that message was.
Ready? Open the spoiler. [Note: the image appears as a spoiler on the original message on the Discord server]

Yes, this is exactly what you see. No, there is no hidden context. No, there are no omitted parts, this was the exact reaction to the exact input. Doubt you've passed the challenge, but was it funny though? I hope so, and... Well, you were prepared for this content, now imagine what my feelings were when I first saw this... And by the way, I've yet to receive any explanations on this one still...
Soo, uhh, where do we start? Yeah, we've just started...
To make it easier, let me briefly retell about the exact problem that happened, while you participate in a challenge number 2 - that is, check how close your version I asked you to come up with is to the reality.
So. At least during March-June one particular hosting had files on its download list that break inventory of clients when they download it. Due to how it works, single connection was sufficient to break the game forever, or, in other words, everyone who connected to the server at least once during the named period (that is thousands of people by estimation) got corrupted files downloaded which eventually could lead to unintentional effects while playing the game. The issue became publicly known only on June, when the first public reports occurred on TF2C Discord server, THAT IS HOW the issue was brought to the discussion. A nuance with this issue was that the problematic files were causing game-inventory to show items from CW:C, THAT IS WHY I was involved into it at all. It was all my effort to investigate the problem; after getting results out of my personal effort I've invested into it, I've made a brief PSA inside CW:C thread where I've pointed to the source of the problem, explained how it works and how to solve it client-side, claimed that CW:C is unrelated and pinged those who've made the reports. That was done several days before... before the circus.
(How's the challenge, by the way? Hit close enough?)
So, this is how the conversation went on that day - the day of the circus.
*CW:C thread*

*Unbiased opinions*
*And, finally, my response*
What happens next? Next happens that thing from under that spoiler and TF2C personnel sharing their imaginations from their dreams between each other. If you feel like their words have a hard time correlating to my words, then you have the right feelings. Personally, being the one who knew the most about the context, I had its feeling at its finest and made a right decision to move into private conversation with one of them instead of trying to shout that company down. My only message in the public chat was a polite "WTF?" with a screenshot showing the thing from under the spoiler.
And after that private conversation, EVEN THOUGH...
... even though that, eventually this guy has found some dignity to step back. My message - retelled, pinned and followed by apologies for... :D ... mIsUnDeRsTaNdInG. Ok, ok, lol, if for this company it's possible to misinterpret my message as something that could be a valid reason for what you've seen under that spoiler, then... then it's their own self-assessment on their mental abilities; let's not judge them here, nobody's perfect.
But what could probably go wrong after that? How? Ooooh... Ooooh... There was an individual... The one who couldn't accept such a flow of a conversation, so here he comes...
... and he mass-deletes my message history, and he permanently bans me from the server. Bravo.
It is a nice coincidence that earlier on the same day I happened to have a conversation with one of the people who reported that issue with the servers. It is nice because is contains screenshots of my messages from TF2C Discord, so it wasn't a hustle to restore them.
Uh, so what's to talk about now? Is it the end of the story? I suppose, everyone of us have seen enough to give those personalities an assessment, but... Uhhh... The thing is... What you've seen isn't even the worst. Huh?
Remember this person? (Also, Kamiko = Misaki, same account, just renamed)
As it turned out, the account joined 5 minutes before this message. How cute. Not only that, there were other suspicious accounts mass-joining TF2C Discord and other places too. On the next day the story with malicious servers begins. Those servers, among other things, made people mass-download files cherry-picked specifically to break CW:C (which will become the reason for thousands of people not having an ability to connect to CW:C servers). I guess it now must be apparent for you for what really happened on that day and what a proper administration would do with that...
Let's stop on this post. Do I even need to tell that it's a fake screenshot? Do I need to tell you how baaad it is to make one? Well, the thing is... The message is still present on TF2C Discord and the account is a regular member of the server despite I've made several(!!!) requests to the moderators. Four months have passed, and their action is nothing.
Let's make it clear. What you've seen is a fabricated slander published from an account that joins the server just to do that.
Fabricated slander = Crime
Inaction of administration = Crime
It's a simple line of thinking I'm expecting people to have. What did TF2C administration do? Nothing.
That is a serious boundary they've passed by their own choice. But why?
Oh, right... Of course... It could cause... you know...
""" Q.U.E.S.T.I.O.N.S """
Just remember that out of all that situation, the only action those people have committed was:
Some of you may fear to make this final step, but it's necessary. Take my hand, I'll do it with you.
At this point, TF2C administration are criminals.
...
Take a pause, process...
...
Now my final words.
My final words will be my gratitude towards the person behind this account.
Thank you - for opening my eyes, for letting me see who I was dealing with. I know those people made you choke from hysterical laughter on that evening. And I must admit: I laughed with you!
